Fun times: I have one of my MCs carrying a device that helps them navigate and lets security systems in the base they live in know where they have a clearance to go. Which is not meant to be a system to keep track of their movements, but can be used that way, given that the only way it works is letting the security systems know where the device is, obviously. And the computer system essentially is an extension of the MC’s spouse’s senses, althought the MC doesn’t know that right away.
I’ll need to come up with some really awkward discussions about boundaries, it seems.
If it helps, you’re not alone with that. Every now and then I do a little side-work on a project we’d planned to make together but hadn’t yet started. Sometimes it helps, sometimes I put it aside again because I start feeling worse. But when it works it’s nice to feel like she’s in the room even if it’s only for a few minutes. Idk, I think you’re right that she’d be happy to hear you were writing, and like Havenstone said she’d be glad to see you find your way to some happiness in time.
Chiming in to say I am one of those people who really loved the slow-burn options in Honor Bound.
If you don’t mind, could you comment a little on how you handled the situations where the PC atttends a social function with a romantic date? Were the other ROs affected by not being chosen? Did you change anything in subsequent games? I remember this happening in Creme de la Creme but I can’t recall the specifics.
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed them. I added something similar towards the end of writing Royal Affairs but wasn’t totally satisfied with it as it was late on, so I was pleased to have it available from the beginning in Honor Bound.
In Creme, Royal Affairs, and Honor Bound, there are trackers that record whether characters see the PC being flirty or romantic with other people. I think in general, sometimes romantic interests ask the PC to a dance etc and then if the PC goes with someone else, the other romanceable characters ask about it. In general once they see the PC being flirty with other people, they ask about it.
It’s always a bit fiddly doing those interactions and for the new project I’ve planned them already, so hopefully it’ll be easier this time around!
So my goal was to write 25,000 words for each project. I am now just short of 40,000 words for Quiver. Had a couple of days off for various reasons and will still have a few hours later today to get in some last minute writing before getting my official final count for January
Welcome to my first monthly digest of 2025! I’m posting this slightly earlier than usual so that the Dashingdon reminder will be more likely to be seen, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for anything that comes out before 1st Feb and adding it in - feel free to let me know if any more come in and I’ve missed them.
compared to my original wordcount goal, I ended up with a 135 090 / 90 000 this month and released my new chapter. I think I’ve reached my goal and oh woah, I didn’t expect to see that many HG updates. Hooray to us all
I'm flip-flopping around with this guy's species, so this probably won't be the final design, but on subject of uniforms, I think I'm starting to get there.
I don’t know if she ever posted it up here or not, but she did a Patrick Rothfussian amount of work and re-work on Patchworks. Does anyone know if she did post a version of it here? If not, if there’s anyone that’s possible to ask to post it so that it can be continued?
Patchwerks is on cogdemos so won’t be lost when Dashingdon closes, but I wouldn’t consider it appropriate to be shared in public without explicit permission from Brittany’s wife. Similarly I don’t think it would be right for someone else to edit/work on it, unless it was something Brittany stated she wanted or if her wife wanted it to happen.
