Short stories for boys

Forever grateful to family, friends, writers and all the subtle influences that guide us.

Short Stories For Boys is essentially made up of two short stories. That can be played or read independently.

The first part is titled: Kids!! Bring Back Santahh.

Kids!! Bring Back Santahh which is about a secret spy agency that is run by a group friends, who happen to live near one another.

The events take place after Christmas, when they discover that something must have happened to Santahh since none of them got any presents from him.

An emergency meeting is soon called into place and they draw up a bullet proof plan to rescue Santahh.

In the story, I try to blur the lines between imagination and reality.

The events, in kids!! bring back santahh; take place while you are seven years old.

The second part is titled: highschool soccer.

Which takes place 7 years later, when you are fourteen. With much more mature themes.

It takes places a few days before a highschool soccer tournament that you are thinking of joining, in order to win the tournament money and help out your family’s financial situation. That became worrisome, when your father’s business became smeared in controversy.

One of the challenges would be to find a way to participate in the tournament, while also passing your grades.

You also get to reunite with some of your childhood friends, and get to make new connections.

DEMOS ARE AVAILABLE ON:

Would appreciate any feedback regarding grammar or any weirdly placed sentences or anything that stands out to you.

A FEW CHARACTER REFERENCES:

Darcie - I think I was picturing someone like Emma Stone because I think I once saw a movie, of her being a student and the image of “the cool, laid back gal” kinda stayed…even though, I don’t entirely remember her character.

Arystal - For some reason, SZA just reminds me of someone I could have went to highschool with. Someone who seems to have figured out everything to outsiders, but really she feels a bit misunderstood and craves for something that is a bit intangible to her, at the moment.

A BIT OF BLURB

I honestly don’t really have a lot of child-friendly/themed stories apart from the Halloween jam entry that I submitted this year (which got hosted by none other than @poison_mara ). Which is partly why I really wanna write this one, so that I can finally send my younger relatives a story/text-based game that I am working on and encourage them to try it.

AND YES, I WAS PARTLY THINKING: KIDS NEXTDOOR while writing this… I remember coming across a youtube video, where the youtuber said something along the lines of; "the events of kids nextdoor, were mainly fictional and that the entire game got created because NUMBUH 1 (cues in image)…

…is actually a bit sick and so they all wanted to cheer him up." I’m not entirely sure of the validity of that theory, but as a person who dabbles in a bit of conspiracy theories that story was enough to stay with me…and evoke strange melancholic feelings that made me appreciate the entire series a bit more.

Anyway HUUUUGE S/O to CODENAME: KIDS NEXT-DOOR…they definitely influenced a bunch of young ones to play spies in their tv rooms.

INTERESTING INTERVIEW THAT I CAME ACROSS BY DONNA TARTT

Interviewer ( Kirsty Wark ): You create a world where the children can live in a parallel universe. They have their separate lives.

Donna Tartt: Oh, I think children do have their separate lives. Children are their own little tribe, they are very different from adults. They band together, they have to lie in order to get what they want. They are in league against the adults, they have no economic power whatsoever, they’re completely at the mercy of their parents, often at their parents’ whim and in order to do what they want to, they have to tell stories.

SIDE NOTE: I kinda been fascinated with how some olden writers conduct themselves…idk, it kinda feels like there is a softness or perhaps a bit of sadness about what they have learnt.

ANYWAY MAJOR ASSUMPTION FROM MY END. So back to topic…

Do you somewhat like this story I wrote, even just a little?? Do you also have spare time?? this sounds genuinely fun. I like the jump from being a kid on a wild Christmas adventure to being a teenager dealing with high school life. The Santahh rescue idea made me smile it feels like something my friends and I would’ve come up with back then like this. I’ll definitely give the demo a look

Agh, those days…if one could go back…

And argigatou. Much appreciated, and hopefully I will be a bit further with the second part.

In the very first picture, why is the kid’s right hand resting on his crotch (of all places!)?

LOL, ayo… You good?

Anyway, I have seen those stances a lot back in highscool and a bit in uni. So I think it is more of that, where the hand is by the upper thigh than anything else.

:backhand_index_pointing_up::backhand_index_pointing_up: If you are not familiar with the stance.

I am not familiar with the word or initials “ayo.” What does it mean?

ayo = yo = hi

but in a dramatic/exaggerated way

Ah. O.K., thanks.
