I guess something like the conjuring. horror is a better word for what I’m looking for, but it’d involve the paranormal. so paranormal horror games or anything that’d set you on edge

Can I suggest Donor? you are the prisoner of a sadistic vampire and their friends and try to escape. To complicate matters you are dependent on prescription drugs (not normally a sympathetic character) and you were in the building when your predecessor met their death. Its gory horror and you are a woman, not that it really makes any difference as the story is about escaping your fate, one way or another. Its not a love story, its a “leave your moral judgement at the door” and its tricky.

Considering COG’s first game was Choice of the Dragon, you would think more games with a monstrous MC would be popular…
I’m looking for games in which you are specifically a Monster, or some kind of equevalent non-human threat, not just games where you can play as an Elf or something. Werewolves/Vampire games are also out of the question, those are not in any short supply.
Also, please do some quality control and recommend those with at least mid-level writing. I refuse to play a Choicescript game with bad grammar.
Bonus points if the MC actually acts non-human and isn’t just some guy in Godzilla’s body.
Examples include:
• Folksaga WIP, where you play as either some kind of Mountain Troll, Siren, or Dryad type creature from Norse Mythology.
• The above mentioned Choice of the Dragon.
• An Unexpectedly Green Journey, kind of contradicts my point about the Elves, but the Orcs in this game actually act non-human.

Ive been playing alot of COG games featuring ww2 battles and stuff but all of them that i found are taking place in the Allies side. As such ive been looking for a game where you play on the Axis side (prob because i have Austrian blood)

I, the Forgotten One is the easiest to recommend, although you are a bastard. It’s also a rather grim (but really good) game.

If you’re looking for something less dark, then I suggest Lords of Aswick.

If fantasy elements such as magic don’t bother you, then I’d suggest War for the West and The Great Tournament series.

It’s personally my choice everytime. I see that there aren’t many. Wish we could have more, grounded, gritty. Not sci-fi or medieval or civil war-like games. But modern military games. High stakes, realistic, no holds barred.
