Hello everyone, This is my first time writing something like this, so it might still be a bit rough around the edges, but I’m committed to improving and updating it regularly.
So here’s a little Synopsis:
You were forged to be the perfect weapon. But whose war will you fight?
For three centuries, the city of Emberford has chased a singular, dangerous dream—to create an invincible warrior, one who could protect the kingdom from the chaos beyond its walls. Their answer lay buried in the corpse of the greatest threat the world had ever known: Azgor, the Black Dragon of Calamity, whose rampage brought the mighty Aurelian Empire to its knees 300 years ago.
You are The Warden of Emberford, a product of ruthless experimentation, shaped since childhood to embody the dragon’s might. Your body is a weapon. Your will, conditioned to serve. And deep within, tethered to your very soul, is a presence that never sleeps—Azgor’s consciousness, whispering from the shadows of your mind.
As the Warden, you are both feared and revered, standing alone on the edge between human and monster. But when political schemes, brewing rebellion, and foreign wars threaten to tear Emberford apart, you find yourself caught between forces vying for control.
In a world of shifting allegiances and hidden agendas, who will you choose to become?
Will you remain the obedient protector you were engineered to be? Will you embrace the monstrous power within and shape your own empire from the ashes? Or will you carve out a path entirely your own—hero, villain, or something far more dangerous?
The Dragon’s Covenant is an epic, character-driven interactive fantasy novel where your choices define not only the fate of kingdoms, but the person you’ll become.
Features:
○ Play as male, female, or nonbinary; pursue relationships or stand alone.
○ Forge bonds—or ignite rivalries—with a cast of allies and enemies: a sharp-tongued Aurelian survivor with secrets of her own; a fellow experiment cloaked in crimson fire; an unyielding warrior who refuses to let you walk alone; a soldier who sees something human beneath the weapon.
○ Navigate court politics, deadly battlefields, and a world scarred by past wars.
○ Decide how you wield Azgor’s power: with ruthless fury, strategic precision, or restrained control.
○ Shape your relationship with the ancient dragon bound to your mind—mentor, adversary, or something far more complicated.
○ Face moral dilemmas, betrayal, and the fragile question of your own humanity.
The city burns. Empires crumble. Whispers fill your mind.
Will you rise as savior, conqueror, or the harbinger of ruin?
Any feedback is more than welcome! I’ll do my best to respond to everyone and fix any bugs or errors as quickly as possible.
And if you’ve made it this far—thank you for giving my story a chance!
Update 4 (12/04/2025)
Hey everyone!Sorry this update took longer than expected—college has been rough lately. This update adds around 40k new words, bringing the total word count to 180k. It includes a follow-up to the end of Chapter 1 to help set the stage for what’s coming next, and also introduces two new romance options, who have been added to the Codex.
The stat screen has also received some changes. In addition to Combat Skill, you’ll now see Magic Skill and Flight Skill, both of which you’ll be able to train throughout the story. However, these new stats aren’t fully implemented just yet in this version.
This update is more of a sneak peek, mainly because I really needed some feedback. At the moment, choices in Chapter 2 don’t affect stats or relationship values. That will be added later, along with the full integration of the new skills, once I get a better idea of how everything is working.
Update 3 (26/03/2025)
A small update focused on fixes and rewrites for scenes and choices I wasn’t entirely satisfied with.Aside from the rewritten content, this update adds approximately 4,000 words of new material. Notable additions include a scene confronting Zatus about what he did to Ruby and an option to disregard orders and attack Grafast’s fort after the orc assault. There are also a few extra choices in certain scenes, though nothing major.
There are still a few elements I might refine later, but for now, I’ll shift my focus to Chapter 2.
Update 2 (23/03/2025)
Finally wrapped this one up! This update was definitely a challenge to write—it adds around 51k words, mainly because of the number of variations I tried to include towards the end. It might not feel like that much content in a single playthrough, but if you try out different combinations, you’ll notice a lot of variation in the dialogue and scenes. There are two things I wanted to address with this update:
First (and most importantly): Since this was a pivotal sequence of events, I experimented with adding much more detailed descriptions, trying to flesh out the scenes and make them feel more immersive. That means there’s quite a bit of text between choices this time. If you feel like it’s too much, let me know! I can revisit these scenes later to tighten them up, and I’ll keep that feedback in mind moving forward. This is my first WIP, after all, so I’m still figuring out the right balance and experimenting with the format.
Also, because of the sheer number of variations, there’s a chance a few errors might have slipped past me. I did my best to catch everything, but if you notice anything off, feel free to report it here and I’ll fix it ASAP!
Second: This update contains a lot of violent descriptions, especially in certain paths. Most of it is avoidable depending on the choices you make, though a few moments are unavoidable. If you’re sensitive to that kind of content, just be aware—and opt for the less violent choices to minimize the gory details.
With this update, I consider Chapter One officially concluded!
Next, I’ll focus mostly on revising and reworking the earlier parts of the game: adding more choices, smoothing out pacing, and making the beginning flow more naturally. I’ll also take this time to incorporate any feedback or requests you have—so if there’s anything you’d like to see added or tweaked, drop your suggestions here!
And as always, thank you so much for reading The Dragon’s Covenant!
