Mecha Ace already is this. Itās extremely Gundam, down to letting you smooch a Char clone.

Anything about being a reporter? I could have sworn there was a game proposal or WIP for a romance genre game where you worked at/wrote for a newspaper. A recent one, not The Porthecrawl Witness.

Iām also a fan of mystery games, detective or reporter with slice of life parts is right up my street.
Mainly Iām a sucker for a good old period story, particularly Regency but even Victorian era, or even fantasy stories set in a similar way.
Iām autistic and I do love that during these time periods socialising had set rules and etiquette. So theyāre my favourite things to read. Iād love to see more, Iāve found several wips but most seem to be abandoned.

Itās a twine game, but I recently found Oblivious Melodies, which has a Regency/industrial-era Britain inspired setting. There are already 5 chapters completed with 1 more to go in the 1st game [edit: the 1st game has been completed as of June 2024], but itās planned to be a 4 volume series. Just keep in mind itās not like a COG/HG with a blank slate MC, you alternate between playing two different set characters (which I didnāt think Iād like but they both have interesting stories IMO and you can still make choices for them). And if you havenāt seen them here on the forum yet, thereās WIPs like The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (set in Victorian England) and The Flower of Fairmont (an epistolary game set in a Regency/Victorian-inspired setting, it has a female genderlocked MC).
For high school thereās Just Kiss Me (although it does have a magical element similar to Freaky Friday) and Help! I Canāt Find My Glasses!. For slice of life thereās Merry Crisis and Apartment 502. These are all WIPs btw!

Historical WIPS that let me explore periods and cultures Iāve barely heard about(tales about warriors about merchants about sailors about nobles or commoners you just have my attention for any of these), slice of life romance WIPS with a mystery to keep things tense enough, low fantasy WIPS that let us explore unique societies and offer us a sexy time while they are at it, sports WIPS with a slice of life factor letting us live the experience of combining the competition with daily life and relationships(from the pressures of a renowned figure to just a student with dreams if making it big).
Would also love a reality show WIP where we can explore the falseties and politics of such events feel betrayal find love etc(A WIP based on Big brother or Survivor completely up my alley), more political/lead your country wips specially after playing the last Suzerain updates I recognise the potential and management challenges while a historical setting would be cool a completely original one would also be great, school wips as the Seventh grade detective(or the last game from the Zombie Exodus series but more chill) do love myself some good school drama specially if you can add love triangles, professor-student romance, cheerleaders, teen parents, rich families and crime.

Iāve actually already watched all of it and canāt wait for the next part.
The channel get a bit too judgy about tropes at times for me but their Journey to the West series is top tier.
