Zeus' Dilemma (WiP - Last Updated 06/14/21)

It hasn’t been told yet in game, but we’ll be told soon, it was on the tumblr

“2 You’ll be told in-game, but basically she’s chosen/blessed you rather than actually conceived you.”

Pretty sure it was meant to be Father, for Hephaestus

Love the story so far and the customization options, am very disappointed that it is insinuated that my MC uses an iPhone instead of android.

Really good job all-round though

@Ramar_Blood thanks for catching that!
@Abstract_One I… might have forgotten that other types of phones exist :innocent:. It’s a running joke at my boarding school (in the middle of nowhere) that the only phone available is an iPhone, because there’s no data so people can’t text without wifi. Maybe once you get out into the real world and break it, you can choose to get an Android .

This is a interesting game that reminds me of percy Jackson but I don’t why but out of all the gods listed I felt closest to Ares

My mc; Hey dad when I grow up I want to bathe in the blood of my enemies just like you

Ares; I am so proud of you son:)

Honestly I would love Nyx to be an option she is by far the most badass and her powers and domain are both awesome

I am wondering if hades and ares are actually friends if that the case then hades would not get mad at me for dating his daughter or he might even encourage it

Consider that your MC name is Kratos, there might be some “different” scenarios with other gods which I hope the author will include in the future

I have been thinking since all gods are naturally evil in their own way will it be that bad if we take over Olympus or help our parents to do that if their are interested

Evil is such a strong word. They just think differently. In fact, you could say they exhibit villainous behaviours.

Stat Screen

That awkward moment when you share a name with one of the RO… and other details such as being smart and short… one of us gonna change and it ain’t gonna be meeeee

But anyways, the story so far is excellent from what I can tell. It is short though so it’s hard to give anything really concrete. Pacing seems fine though I do think you can slow down between the loss and A getting the quest from Hermes. Let the player properly marinate with the rumors of Zeus going missing besides the brief glimpse with the player’s sibling. Such as when Zeus “maybe” went missing or what he’s doing; could even drop in someone scoffing about Zeus’s playboy ways.

Overall, it’s good but it wouldn’t hurt allowing the reader to submerge a little in “normality” until it’s time for the “bizarre” to begin.

Thanks for all of the codes! For anyone wondering what exactly I’m doing with them, I’m generally tracking what paths and what stats people are getting on average through them. Just for transparency, this is the spreadsheet where I’m storing the data.

Kinda Boring Details Below
  • The numbers next to the godly parent, weapon, and final path all track the number of people that chose it. I also tracked if the numbers changed between this update and last one. Mor is a big fan favourite, wow I’ll have to try harder with the others.
  • The numbers next to the personality stats track how many people choose the stat. 1 and 5 are the two extremes of the spectrum, 4 and 2 are that the player leans towards the stat but isn’t solely on the side, and 3 is a 50/50 split. For this, I’m just making sure that I have enough choices where people can change their personality stats, and to see how people play (for example, I was surprised that people were more straightforward than manipulative, that was useful data).
  • The numbers next to the demigodly traits are the most underdeveloped in the sense that I wasn’t quite sure what to do with them. In the first place, I wanted to know if people were hitting 5 (they were) and then the number next to the power just shows the most common number that people got.
  • The “codes to do” section just shows codes that I haven’t gotten around to inputting yet.
  • The stats screens pictures also get inputted into the information, and are very useful as well – I was just worried that asking for them might be too much work.
    Hope this helps!

@Elemental You’ll get opportunities to talk to both your ROs parents, as well as your own parents about your RO at the very end of the book. As to your later question, at the end of this book, you might, depending on path, have a choice that changes the future of Olympus for a while. Along with what @Marvey said, evil is a subjective word, and the MC can exhibit villainous properties, just like their parent.
@Manaxaggd That is something I was planning on incorporating. The siblings all have an extra line of text if you have the same name as them, so it wouldn’t be too hard to include for others you meet. That said, I’m also playing with the idea of not allowing players to choose the names of any of the major twelve Olympians, and providing a warning for RO names.
@zombiequeenkai Thanks for the suggestions! Chapter two has a lot of the “marinating on the quest” part, since I wanted an option to talk it out with C. That said, I would love to hear your comments after the chapter comes out – is it still too rushed? Should I move the parts earlier? Also; K’s response: “Why would someone have to change when we can just be twinnies?”
