Unwanted Warrior was submitted and everything was all set, but author had to sent computer to get repaired but sadly during the repair the entire game was deleted and lost, after that the author gave up and cancelled Unwanted Warrior (she said that she was trying to get the files of the game in itch.io but they didn’t respond her and she doesn’t have high hopes on retrieving them)

But yeah last time author was in COG was 22 days ago and she had an new WIP idea called Fractured Dawn or something like that and she changed her forum description to say she is writting Fractured Dawn and removed the mention of KEIA in her description soo yeah i guess its really cancelled

Sadly, the author hasn’t been seen for a long time. Which reminds me - I really hope that some day he will return and finish The Golden Eagle which went on hiatus even before Goshman stopped visiting the forum. It was a really interesting WIP. Nice worldbuilding, interesting characters, and you got to play as an officer of Fusiliers.
Other than that, I really miss Vendetta: Rise of a Gangster. I’ve never played it past the point that was available for all users, but it was a really magnificent WIP.

So here’s how I know if I’m going to suffer with an old WIP or not, I’d recommend not venturing about old WIPs, but since the temptation is too strong with those ones, I thought I’d share how I at least TRY to prepare for the trauma

first thing first see the date of the last update, it’s not very telling if it’s relatively recent but it raises some flags if it’s been more than a year/a year and a half, at least for me¯_(ツ)_/¯

next thing to do is to read the introduction to the WIP. If the WIP has been abandoned some authors say so in the description of the WIP (bless them)

if there are no signs of abandonement in the description scroll down and read the latest posts. the thread will probably be closed (if it’s not that’s a good sign), so check if the author said they wouldn’t be continuing it in one of their last posts.

if you don’t find anything there either, check if they mentioned links in the description, some authors post their progress on tumblr so IF they’ve posted the link in the description try and see if the project is still active there.
if you’re still unable to come to a conclusion then the WIP could both be abandoned OR on an undetermined hiatus. in both cases starting the Demo WILL sting (trust mehhh) but some demos are so good/replayable/conclusive that playing them even if they’re eternally/indefinitely not finished is still SO worth it!
I think this is pretty obvious but do not pressure writers into going back to an old project no matter how much you like it! By all means show your support and love but don’t make them feel like they have to go back! This is pretty obvious like duh but still

I keep scrolling through these posts and I find this Team Zero being mentioned multiple times. Tried to check if the demo was atleast playable so as to see if it’s as good as people are saying and find a error screen right at the beginning. Guess somethings we’ll never know.
