Please can Hero of Daria make a comeback? I was a beta tester and I really liked it

I will carry Life of a Starship Captain’s banner until I die or it comes out.

These two are both on my short list.

Last Wizard has taken a step forward. Off to the copy editor! That’s good news!

Legacy Advantage is still moving forward too. That one is on my end and it’s my current project. I have a few middle scenes and finale to write. Once again, I’m blown away by the errors that will be corrected, whether or not you get the DLC. Some additional free content with the DLC too, but obviously the vast majority is in the IAP of the DLC itself. I’m excited to share this!

It never specifically mentions how much but the majority of the fights consist of one or two moves, with sufficient time lapse between them for the hero to recover. So it’s more a case of good story structure than unseasonably large mana reserves.

Also mana is a way to limit the other mages. Keep the focus on the Heir as protagonist and don’t let NPCs solve everything.

You guys are right. Mana is a concept needed for games. It represents a finite amount of energy for magical purposes. In the Lost Heir, I don’t use that mechanic, although it’s generally understood that magical power has a limit on all of the wizards in all of the stories.

I think the real discussion is, who is more powerful: The Lost Heir or The Wizard (from LoaW)? My feeling is that the Lost Heir is still growing. We only see a quarter of their life. At the stories’ conclusions, I’d say the Wizard is way more powerful. We don’t know what peak the Heir will eventually reach.

Quick question: how will the legacy update work
Can i premarket a save and reuse or does it require another go-through

It will require a new go-through. Old saves won’t be eligible. You’ll have the option to apply the Advantage to new characters only.

Welp, time for another 42 save files that I didn’t label correctly and have to go though every time I start a new game

Well, we know that the Wizard operates in a Daria with a far higher magical “tech level” than the Heir, so he can freely have more advanced powers than a full-power Priest, Necromancer, Alchemist, Seer, Demon Summoner and probably a couple of others combined. In the Lost Heir timeline, while there’s a few more options for specialists, the Heir has to do just that to approach the Wizard’s power in any one area. And even then, only Necromancers get to engage in anything approaching the mass magic you see in the final chapter of LoaW.

Heck, the Wizard can mass-summon demons on an industrial scale by himself, without K’Girr - thus making him stronger than Alexander Zusak (though admittedly without access to Bozar).
.
I submit that the Heir will never get that strong. Magic of the Wizard’s power doesn’t exist anymore/yet/in this continuity.

I agree. There’s a story to be told there. The Wizard went to the Academy when it was still in Tornassa. Something happened to the entire Academy and now it sits on an island in the Silver Sea. Yes, this is a missing piece of history for some future game, perhaps.

Would it be possible to kill Alexander zusk by making him fall of a cliff cause technically he was never attacked he took damage from the environment.

I CANT WAIT ANY LONGER.

Whaaa, Lucid you tried to make a randomly generated dungeon crawler? That’s crazy, I’d love to see what kind of code it takes to pull something like that off.

I’m making a game similar to that (although nowhere near finished, haven’t even started creating enemies to put in) and basically will have a few preset enemies (7 goblins, 7 wolves, 3 mercenaries, 3 assassin’s, 1 or 2 very strong bosses etc.) And it’ll be based on level first (u.e. at low levels won’t face like 7 assassins) and then random from there.

I suppose I could make each individual enemy random (as in chance of fighting 1 assassin, 2 goblins, etc.) But that’ll take a lot more time and effort, and can lead to weird grouping’s (e.g.why would a wild wolf and hunter fight alongside each other)

Also have to create stats for each of em, which is fun until ya look back and realise the ‘weakest’ enemy in the game is pretty unbalanced (in my case, seems OP) and have to try and tweak em

Welp time to start another route since I just realized I don’t have the alchemist already

Also @lucid lore questions. How strong are the gods and how to they look upon humans? They never really helped during the demon war (except that one time) unless we are priest and even then just mostly healed and inspired. Are they just deus ex machinas or do they have a certain level of power. Do they like humanity or do they see us as lesser beings that occasionally take pity on with miracles. And the final but biggest question. Can we kill or take the powers of a god. Or even become so powerful it reaches a level of the gods? Sorry but I just played a sage path and the inner scribe in me is searching for answers

Oh and has anyone actually figured out how to unlock auriel’s tear yet? I’ve tried almost every path and none of them even touch on it

I didn’t “try”, I “did.” It’s fully functional and works. And yes, all those features were working. It’s a very ambitious project though and I was worried that it wouldn’t have the audience that a regular game would have. I might still come back to it. It’s definitely on my short list of what to write next. We’ll see.

I ended up deciding to remove group combat and made it all one-on-one in order to not worry about positioning, combat order, and balancing issues. That said, I still included a companion that fights at your side, but I dimished their power so that the focus was still on the MC.

You guys are making me think more and more about returning to it! I need time though, and first I will finish the Legacy Advantage and be sure that Last Wizard is fully released, either way.

Wonderful questions. The Gods and Goddesses of Daria are aloof, but still active in the world. The history suggests that they’ve made some very personal contacts in the past, but we haven’t seen them in any of the games yet, although priests have had some of their prayers answered.

In the Last Wizard, we see an even further decline of their influence, although what’s happening their may not represent all of Daria.

The full extent of their powers is unknown. The priests would say infinite, the wizards would say nothing is infinite.

Depends on the God and Goddess. Lucien and Auriel like humanity, but they are still foriegn and aloof. Noct and Shadi have uses for humanity too, but ‘like’ isn’t how they operate. The divine mind is difficult to know. Priests think they know, but even they argue among themselves.

There is no historical evidence of this occuring, but in a fantasy world, who knows?

You know, of my many projects, I have started Life of a God. It had a lot of interesting ideas, but the god you play starts as a deity. It would also be a fun game to return to some day.

So many ideas, so little time!
