Will you ever write another criminal based novel? Life of a Mobster is the one that I like the most, from your series.
I‘m sorry that what I‘m going to say comes months late, but I didnt know how to say it.
You game is perfect for choicescript and those people who say it wont work, because of the lack of a visual element, have possibly never played a choicescript game, arent familiar with CYOA novels/games in general, or lack imagination.
They read „RPG“ in the title and automatically assumed its like other MMORPGs on the market. I know its hard to tune those voices out, because they (seem to) have more weight in deciding to continue a game. But, and I think I‘m not the only one thinking that, you shouldnt listen to them, because your works are really the best thing somebody can do with choicescript . And please dont think that there aren enough people who would buy Hero of Daria, and I hope you know how much we appreciate the hard work and time you put into your games, it doesnt go unnoticed
.
Oh haha, I think I’ve done (or at least my current plan will result in!) the oppsite-- for during the first couple of fights the character will be quite weak in comparison to their allies/ teammates-- it’s more about picking the right enemies, the right strategy for your team , etc. than having an extremely strong character.
Although a bit more complicated it’ll allow me to put in really strong bosses (like 1 boss with 10x normal health and damage and such) but also a large amount (not sure how much is too much, but probably max 10) of weaker enemies.
Although mine is less “Random dungeon” (although I hope to have a haunted house of sorts!) but more "adventure from A to B, beat up the guys trying to rob or stop you, in the hope it doesn’t get too repetitive (although i suppose I could add a difficulty option)
Metaphysics questions!
Is it known what forces define morality in Daria? Is it the gods or something else? And related, what is the connection between morality and the Druid of Decay? (You have to be evil to be a Druid of Decay, but nothing of what one does is evil.)
Einstein would say only two things are infinite- the universe and human stupidity. Then he would pause and admit he’s not sure about the universe.
Thanks. That’s good to hear. I enjoyed writing it. It’s possible that I might do something unique from what I’ve done.
Thank you. That means a lot to me. I thought it was a cool idea and I know that many others have tried to get similar RPGs running. I had the core running smoothly. Hard to say, but I really do see myself going back to it someday. Maybe it’ll be next, or maybe after I do some other stuff.
Those are some deeply philosophical questions. Morality in our own world is tricky enough, but in a world where gods are more active and visible? Yikes.
Is it good because the good gods believe so? Or are the good gods good because of what they do? Pretty deep thoughts.
To be a Druid of Decay, you need to be willing to destroy life itself. It could be argued that rotting is just a natural part of the cycle, but then again, perhaps evil is just a part of the cycle and balance. Along those lines, a Druid of Decay is focusing their skills upon that part of the cycle… the cycle deemed evil by many people. So, are they evil? Is evil inherently bad? Could a person use evil to do good things? There’s more deep thoughts that make the head spin.
Love it!
Indeed. Of course, the metaphysics are closer to physics in Daria, and so we get weird situations such as how the Assassins not only claim to be innocent of any wrongdoing when they kill for hire, but are completely correct in doing so!
But you’re right, and it’s intriguing that even though “is it good or evil?” can be answered empirically in Daria, why an action is good or evil will still fuel philosophical arguments for ages. (Arcana +3)
@Lucid what magic do the wizards use to build the wizard towers so high?
How do Druids in the Lucidverse work? Can we transform into an animal to have an advantage in battle or can we „only“ communicate with animals?
And what would have been the differences between TLH Druid and a HoD Druid?
In the at a higher level druid we could transform
In Lost Heir, Level 1 Druids just communicate with animals. 2 has potential Animal companions. 3 can shapeshift. 4 can do advanced shape shifting (invertebrates, dire animals, changed enough to mate maybe).
I’d guess some runes are holding the structure together and other make it lighter. Magic let’s you break a lot of rules.
@Blank and @achtungnight said it right. Passing through nature without leaving a trace and no longer aging are a few more handy things that a good druid can do.
Hey, all. I finished the Legacy Advantage! I sent it off to CoG. Two things in the pipe. I’m looking forward to people seeing both of them!
The hype is real I’m so ready!
It’s in the pipe.
I am hype.
Looking forward to Legacy Advantage also.
Lucid- Only good Druids stop aging? Do you mean good vs unskilled or Good vs Evil because the latter should not be the case. Unless you mean Evil Druids look like Palpatine post Dark Side but don’t die which I guess could fit the myths. Then again Evil Druids looking like Saruman also work. So does Illusion & Misdirection Camouflage.
Question could our loaw have their partner with them
“Good” means in this context “skilled.”
In Lost Heir, druids’ alleged neutrality has none of the teeth from LoaW.
Patience wearing thin. Body fading away. Mind slowly disintegrating. I cant go on much longer.
Sorry, @achtungnight I meant “good” as in competent and skilled, like @Ramidel said.
There’s a story with it, @Blank So you’ll see that some aspects of the wizard won’t be seen.
Yes! I just did a play through and got the demon king achievement
