Hmm. Question later in the game will we be able to start collecting other spirits to start like a pantheon of gods? That kind of seems like something that could happen, or is it that after a time when the humans start giving worldly aspects to certain gods that your conciseness/body/life/existence splits to form the other gods in your pantheon?
This is interesting. I look forward to seeing where it goes (BTW Nature spirit on first play through).
Will your increasing power draw the jealousy or attention of other more powerful spirits?
A pantheon sounds fun and could be done in a number of ways.
One could be allying with spirits another could be enslaving then.
You could also divide yourself into multiple aspects of your religion. Or through “reproduction” just as the Greek pantheon. Lotsa stuff in that bucket of white worms.
I am the Spirit of the animals. Soon I will grow powerful enough to be become God of the Hunt, bring me trophies my believers! But I swear if you hunt my fluffy rabbits I will command them to devour your children…
In other words I love this game so far.
@assassin3006 @blazerules
Damn! You people need to stop guessing coming chapters!
Chapter 4 is planned to be based on building communities with other cultures and if you and your people embrace other gods or war with them. At the moment I’m struggling to contain chapter 3 to a reasonable size but once it’s completed ill expand more on the details :).
Glad people are still enjoying it. An update will be out before the new year I hope.
@Maxmansung
You left to many hints that went down a rabbit hole everyone here is thinking where it will go some of us are just more vocal than others. Besides that this is a game about religion belief and morals anybody that would be into it would would on a personal level be more into deep thinking on a subject and how the correlation between one or to objects would affect any-other object that has ties to them. Also i wnat to throw this out to you after the conflicts in this new chapter or some where in chapter five i would the PC have the choice to be intospective of their choices so that the character can develop not just in the heat of the moment but also in the cold aftermath I.E “the fight ageinst the rival god was long and bloody, of your Believers only 2/3 had survived the finle battle and of those 1/5 wont survive the night and half will never fully heal.”
A I feel great sadness… never should have fought
b i feel great sadness… but it was nessicary and what tey learned here will make them stronger
c BLOOD BLOOD BLOOD!!!
ect ect
P.S I am sorry that @Blazerules and myself are awesome like that but if your feeling left out you can be awesome with us =)
Lol, I was only messing. I’m fine with people guessing the future chapters of the game I’m just surprised about how correct you seem to be about what’s coming.
Makes it look like I’m stealing your ideas. Chapter 3 and 4 are a bit action packed but I think your right, it could be a good idea to have some more reflection about how things of changed in chapter 5.
Chapter 5 and 6 will be a lot slower, looking at the importance of the gods and the community and how secretive your religion becomes.
Please feel free to keep adding opinions and idea of how you want the story to go though. Hopefully chapter 3 will end in a satisfying way
The talks of the the great vault of Grundle’Fondler (I’m creative with my goddess’ name) has got me wondering, are we able to show the believers what tributes will please us? Because since I’m a nature spirit I can imagine planting foliage around the vault and trophies from hunting game would be best suited for my Goddess.
Blood for the blood god as they say.
Hopefully I can have my followers fight to the death for my favour. In an arena of course.
It does doesn’t it? Because your a nature spirit the vault is dedicated to the wild with great gardens inside. If your a demon then it’s dedicated to skins and skeletons of dead animals and beasts. It’s different for each spirit type.
@Blazerules
Hmm… I haven’t considered an arena. Might bring that in on the next chapter when it’s dealing with other cultures and your aggression. Have to think of a few alternatives though.
How the opponents in the arena fight could depend on our spirit. Demons it is to the death and Nature to disarm their opponent.
Speaking of which, could we in later chapters have a champion? Somebody who has proven their loyalty and devotion and we reward them with a gift and we can communicate directly to them I already know who would be my champion, Aire you fiery little pup.
Edit: I can imagine later we will have a humanoid form we can transform into.
Hmm. Need to work out a way to be an evil fertility God. Sacrifices must be made. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have a nice garden to bleed our foes into. Recycling, that’s the name of the game baby. Recycling!
It should be possible to be an animal spirit and receive human sacrifices although I’m sure it’s a more difficult choice. The endings of each chapter are affected by previous choices but not limited by them.
@maxmansung dude thats what this forum is all about a literary artist such as your self comes here for feed back, new ideas, and possibly someone who just cant gloss over typos. If we couldn’t be of some help then we have no place being members of this forum. Were her to support your original idea that we can put a little of ourselves into your game with ideas then that is the reward we get and we are happy with it. So in summary use what you want feel no guilt.
P.s if you feel like you need even the score put in a npc named trevor thats a funny yet cynical fatass thats really good with a warhammer and you’ll get all the help i can give(not that you wernt going to get that anyway)
Edit: just went through what was there of chap 3 i found a couple of things off talk of sacrificing roc when my people believe in meditation. Haven’t found anything else for now but the way the characters go their separate ways is great really realistic and with the breif power struggle we see makes the characters feel quite genuinely human keep up the good work. Give me a day and ill see if there are any ideas i can give to help
The premise is pretty interesting, and it’s well executed so far, although it feels kind of weird that this supernatural deity like being seems to have a smaller mental capacity than an average human. I can keep track of the identities of significantly more people than the MC seems to be able to, and I don’t have magical semi-omniscience powers. Like, there are a few scenes where it’s stated that the main character finds watching the humans boring and that’s why they somehow are able to miss information even though they can spy on anyone at any time, but it seems like they don’t actually have anything better to do than keep track of those human politics. I mean, what else are we going to do? Spy on them in the bath? … Well, a god with a sex drive would be entertaining to play I suppose, but I don’t think that’s what you’re going for, at least not at this early stage in the MC’s development.
Another thing I’m wondering about… This is apparently a society in transition from Paleolithic to Neolithic life styles, but why would nature spirits be considered a “nice” thing while ancestors be considered scary? Nature is constantly out to get them. The only thing that changes that is you exerting control over it. Their own ancestors on the other hand should be a source of pride and comfort of humans because they’re familiar and safe.
I think nature represent freedom and ancestors represent duty. Or something of that kind. It would explain why nature is nice and ancestors are *bad. I think the whole setting is pretty grey because after all you can be a human god that use fear to reign or inhuman but reign trough love and such. Maybe we might be able to change our religion trough time and end up with something like christianism that began with promise of peace and love and ended up causing three crusades, a few inquisitions and many massacres.
Religions are a grey area to me.
That doesn’t really make much sense to me. Nature is this great big scary thing where nothing will try to help you live but lots of things will try to make you die. Ancestors represent the foundation of your society. You revere your ancestors because they made the society you live in today. Through their toils your life is better than their’s was. You revere them because of what they’ve done for you. Nature represents the other, the dangers outside of society, and the things beyond any human control. You revere nature spirits out of fear of what they may do to or withhold from you.
But what I mean is that nature also represent freedom even if its scary and big you’re still free. While ancestors worshiping religions usualy force a few obligations on worshiper like example respecting you ancestors, elders, etc. Since its very early in world history there is not a lot of things that represent freedom and order and those two are the closest things to this right now and will probably develop into something bigger.
Nature could be seen like the native american view of nature in religion.
I wonder how far in time we will go. Will we reach modern times at some point or is it concentrated in sword and sandalds era’s?
Just out of interest what makes you think ancestors are bad or nature are good? I’ve never described either of them as good or evil in the story really and I’ve tried to avoid making it feel like one is the good route and the other is the bad. Your free to make any choices you think are good or bad.
Maybe you want to kill a human because he’s weak and you think that’s a good thing? Helping the species
