The Followers (Revived!) - Help testing chapter 3 (Updated 20/10/16)

I would love to but I think I need to get a few more pages done before its appropriate. The problem is I’ve not had a chance to run through the flow or spelling of it so it’s just a mess. Once there’s enough to make it worth people playing through again I will.

Honestly I think that in the long term you should consider expanding the begining. I quite liked being someone personal jesus. You could also bring this feeling back with a possible branching path where your religion has fallen and you are trying to rebuild it from scratch if its not already thought of (I think I read somewhere that you could have followers in hiding and it seemed pretty similar). Right now this is my favorite WIP and I hope you will publish it. I can guarantee I would buy it.

I say dont stress yourself with updates man. You shouldnt let the game quality dwindle to satisfy a few impatient persons.

why not make closed beta before open beta choose few testers that were most helpfull to you and then after they help you release it for the rest of testers.

Your going to save this human, but you know nothing about it. If it was some murderer or evil being would you still save it just in the hope of getting a believer? What if you knew it would never believe in you, would you sill bother?

If they weren’t going to believe I wouldn’t bother.
It doesn’t matter what they were or will bo, it’s my job to try and save them.

i believe that was meant to be do?
I am still poking around the game for things i can help spot.
There is a very consistent feel in the spirits connection to that of the humans and animals around it giving in some form a very real feeling of need of the humans regardless of how you treat them as far as ive looked they all have maintained a relatively steady feeling in each option i have done so far i have yet to do demon and ancestor, of which im doing ancestor now

I agree on the “taking it easy with updates” Ive seen many possible god games attempted by our fellow forum members, the thing about god games is that everyone has their own definition or perspective on what kind of divinity would best satisfy or intrigue, this results in a massive explosion of ideas, possible paths, scenarios endings begginings etc, play as greek, egyptian, norse or hybridized religions can take quite a toll on a writer; that being said im truly impressed that this wip has come this far in its progress it truly astounds me!

Im sure that with the right balance of member input and a strong stand on critical points in the story will make this game a jewel in cog!

This is one I’m really looking up to. I just wonder if we will be able to shape ourselves as humans later? (A human body, I mean. )

Oooooo good question. It would be great if we could manifest in a humanish form to explore the world

Thank you very much for your support, I won’t rush out half finished chapters at all but I will endeavour to produce a full chapter for review once it’s at a reasonable standard. Hopefully that won’t be too long.

@valentineheart and @Waywalkerlover I have something similar to that if you’ve seen some of the powers available in chapter 3. I’ve expanded onto them slightly so far and will do more as the chapter continues although I’m still not sold on the whole “Human form with relationships” part. That could end up being quite a big side story if I did.

@Drakeye Thank you so much. I did notice that at one point but then forgot where I had seen it. Please dont be afraid to let me know of anything else spelt wrong or even just sounds wrong, I’m always happy to have a PM with all my errors as long as there’s not too much direct abuse ;).

@CaesarCzech I had something similar to that for chapter 1 and 2 however it seems the people that had checked some of the spelling have become less active recently (Clearly my grammar was that bad!) so I may need some more in the future. I’ll keep an eye out for anyone with eagle eyes for mistakes

Having a blast with this game. Hopefully I can make my enemy sacrificing cult of power a thing of glory and power!

when will the next update be?

@phantom1321 please dont ask that it is against forum rules. And az he is the GREAT Aeon it will be updated when he commands it to be up dated!

This is too good. I remember trying to make my own game where you were a former God trying bto regain their lost power but I gave up. Please keep it up.

PS. I love Discworld

Yea, I couldn’t really write a story like this without crediting Terry Pratchett, Small God’s and Pyramids are two of my favorite books by him are most of the inspiration for this.

Just so people know I am still working on this and I will bring out an update at some point in the next month or two, it’s just got quite a way to go at the moment to make it readable rather than some horrible mess

Is there any way we can be evil and not have human or animal sacrifices going on cause this seems lime a waste for good workers and food

Yea, the sacrifices aren’t tied to your spirit type, it depends what you class as evil though.

If being a demon is evil you can be a demon that people meditate to or create totems for.

If your demanding everything of your people though you shouldn’t be surprised when your people give you everything.

Oh … Well can’t wait to make turn my goddess into Apollo

I need to figure out how to stop being the messenger… Maybe its my pride but i find the idea that i want to be considered a god rather than a friggin spirit messenger… On the other hand. I could probably be some sort of two faced god who is sometimes viewed as a messenger and other times as the actual god itself.

I’ve tried nearly every permutation of the starting choices I can think of, and I’ve gotten Demons, Nothingness, Nature and even Shadows. But I still can’t get Ancestor Spirits. High humanity and fear? Nope. High Humanity and faith? Nope. All the logical choices don’t seem to work.

That said: what you have is a nice, varied experience by itself. I look forward to it being completed, even if one of the choices keeps eluding me.

EDIT: Ah. I should have probably read the thread. Looking forward to the update!
