Yeah, I liked the original title too. The problem is that “Monster High” is a very popular cartoon/doll/movie franchise, so there could be copyright issues and it also might confuse potential players. Not to mention, there’s no way I could compete with their rankings on Google, if people were trying to search for my game there.
So, better to avoid all of that hassle by picking another name.
I like Monsters and Midterms best, but to make your game more easily searchable (not sure that’s the word I’m looking for) the names that have both the word “monster” and “high school” are probably more pragmatic.
I feel like “Monsters of New Haven” sounds better without the “high” at the end. It just sounds one word too long. Although even with the 5th word I would still vote for it
I like “Monster’s of New Haven High” it describes your WIP well. Also “Monsters and Midterms” has a nice ring to it. I don’t think the other names describe your WIP as well as these two. Like, I wouldn’t think it’s about a high school with monsters and people (having to mingle inconspicuously) .
Maybe something like “The Monster Merge: Homecoming or The Monster Merge: Senior Year”. I can’t remember what year MC is supposed to be in. So if senior year is inappropriate, you could just fill in what year MC is supposed to be in. I also think something like “A Monsters Senior Year” would make a suitable title.
