@Razgriz, Yes a samurai girl is cooler, as for the name Kenshin, I honestly just pulled it out of a hat lol, I didn’t know he was a real war lord.
Also guys, please keep throwing ideas my way, I’m a little stuck on what the next chapter should be after the samurai mountain. I like to build up a few more characters through these mini self contained stories along the way before heading down to the dark main story path so I can use these characters to force the reader to make tough emotional choices later. It’s an anime after all, so the more crazy the idea, the better =P
Haha I love the name Kenshin since my username is derived from the Rurouni Kenshin series XD Hiten Mitsurugi is the style of swordsmanship the lead character Himura Kenshin practices.
Also the scenes with the old master should be fun. Kinda reminds me of The Bride getting trained by Pai Mei in Kill Bill Vol. 2

It’s great that you jump right into the action. It really caught my attention. The only issue I had, and perhaps it’s just me, is that with a heavily emotional scene, i.e. a mother bleeding out, the “~sob, sob~” seemed a little out of place, like it belonged in a IM chat room rather than a serious moment such as the one you have created. I suggest simply utilizing the narrative voice you have going here to describe the sounds like this “~loud banging on the front door~” Again, this could just be me. Other than this small thing, I found your word to choice ratio was well paced and engaging, and the characters were interesting as were the powers.
@OSFox Thanks for the advice, you have a good point there, I will change out the “IM” style of writing, it does seem a bit childish in the mature setting of the story. =)
Played it and loved. I really love the idea of this girl who is suddenly thrown into a world without the one person who she trusts. I was wondering if we are going to be able to choose gender or at least name?? (Srry if this has already been answered haven’t read thread)
@Waywalkerlover thx for trying out my game =) I don’t think I will be adding gender or name because my games tend to be game novels, so it’s more like reading a novel but with relevant choices. I allowed Gender Choice on my published title Silent Gear, and it really didn’t add any value to it.
Also, I just added a test soundtrack to the demo, the media player is at the bottom of the page, try playing it with the sound track and see if it works and fits well with the story =)
The final product will have many licensed sound tracks that fits with the mood of the novel.
It takes place on the outskirts of Hiroshima prefecture, then at Aki’s home in Hiroshima City, then in the slums of Hiroshima, then on Itsukushima island then… … I’ll just stop here lol.
companions? you mean like pets? probably not lol, I’m not sure how pets would fit in a matured theme story, its mostly for kids titles like pokemon isnt it? although if enough people rage about it, i may put it in haha
O yes, there are 3 other orphans planned already who will travel together with Aki at some point in the story, some are related to revealing the back stories for aki’s mom.
