So, I’ve essentially finished up the revamping of chapter 1. Just gotta put it through the ringer of quicktest. I’m wondering if I should upload the revised chapter, or wait until I’ve got chapter 2 ready. I’m leaning towards uploading the revision for more feedback- heck, there is actually some new content in that the beginning starts out with a new memory, but mostly it’s just me having cleaned things up as I can for the contest guidelines. So if I’ve got it right, I’ll continue along the same track- if not, I’ll work on tweaking a bit further. Hope is that I’ll have it up sometime today- but as I said, it’s more an editing than a progression.

The thing that bothers me about this game is the fact I don’t know what the hell they’re saying when they start speaking jibberish language. What are these “na’ki”, what does “(Nang(fa)(hrishta)k)” mean, what exactly is this SIN, why are some words pronounced differently like ‘Fathaer’ instead of Father and ‘Haven’ instead of Heaven, etc. Also its quite odd to read kilos as kilometers because in my country the former is a weight measure and the latter used to measure distance.
These are all things I plan to explain in the game. Except the kilos/kilometer thing. That’s more me being used to English measurements and trying to convert everything into metric. :\
Its alright, so long as we ge a codex or a really good explanation down the road I’ll be a happy camper about it. As for the kilo/kilometers, may I suggest you use KM instead, like 10km for example? You can’t even imagine the confusion it caused me while reading it as kilos… its kinda like using american pounds to measure distance.

I changed them to kiloMs in the script- will that work?
That works, although an alternative to that could be klms but I guess it doesn’t look the same without at least a vowel in it.

Hmm, this is kinda like wondering how many maple syrup drenched american pancakes does it take to get Y units of distance down the road…
kilometers, kilograms… hey now, realistically ‘kilos’ would just mean ‘thousands’. Not practically, but realistically. XD Still, at least I’m not trying to push miles on the story, right? I say, watching all the other Americans go to google how many miles X kilometers equals

… Yeah, it seems more like a typo without the italicized ‘dodge’. Alas, it isn’t, per se. But now it would probably be better as ‘I dodge, and the kev’lari fires.’

So, in my personal tradition of keeping my forum-WIP-watchers informed…
The story is currently splitting into three different paths for this chapter (chapter 2), which will reconverge before the chapter ends. I’m currently working on one of the branches, the one in which Tyrael decides to follow Urael. I’ve put 1,658 words to page so far today. Here’s to progress! (And the hope that this chapter 2 is more expedient than Monster’s) Still a long way to go, but it feels good being off to a start once again on new material.

So after a few playthroughs of the current WIP, I like it. The fighting is good and I’m enjoying trying to piece together what happened to me.
Is this, to people’s knowledge and understanding, more of a traditional CoG feel? At present, that’s what I’ve tried to sort out with the editing update. As well as clean it up somewhat to a more uniform page length and flow.

“We’ve always done it this way” isn’t a valid reason to continue said way 
Over 2.8k words put to page today. Research for this is somewhat exhausting, any time I need to go through and dig things up, but likewise quite entertaining. Writing the story is also rather fun- I’ve added the first bit of romance in the story today, and estimate myself to have about 1/8th of the second chapter finished at this point. Or, put another way, about half of one branch. Maybe a little less. Give or take, of course- the memories add more wordcount I can’t necessarily count as ‘new’, or necessarily pin to a specific chapter. Anyway- just to say that the writing is coming along.

Is there a way to get this option at this time?
Leech away a bit of their life-essence. If I don’t overdo it, they’ll be knocked out for a while.
