I have one thing to say to anybody that doesn’t think a bow is a cool weapon. Custom Arrows. I mean they may not be reusable in all cases but it makes the thing even more versatile(than a bow already is ). Also what are we talking about here, like a bow made with industrial strength cable and a small tree trunk or heap of carbon fibre or am I thinking too big. Anyway definetly going to be my weapon of choice unless you make some kind of 20mm AR or 50mm Sniper. IMAGINE THE CARNAGE!!! >:)
Bows are cool, don’t get me wrong, but the second I find a pistol, I’m gonna trade for that.
@Ajax, I think bows are awesome too! Do you mean custom arrows, a la Hawkeye from Avengers? Cause I had had thoughts along those lines for later in the game (explosive arrows, poison arrows, etc.). And there will be sniper rifles in the game, but not in the very beginning XD
As far as pistols go, @ArchAngel950, those are available from the very beginning, but usually as a secondary firearm (i.e., you grab your assault rifle and pistol, strapping your knife to your leg…). You will have no trouble finding a pistol

I was thinking EMP, poison, explosive, incindeary, shock, tranq, AP and fragmenting(like hollow point bullets)plus anything else you could come up with it would add so much variety to the combat plus bows are completely and utterly silent(unless you always use explosive tipped arrows)so they’re very good for the stealthy strategy gameplay style that I favour(à la Hitman, Silent Assasin Rank)on the subject of handguns I think you should offer two types of handguns revolvers which can’t be suppressed but are VERY high powered and pistols which you can suppress but have significantly lower firepower. Plus can’t wait to go marksman on someone’s ass I love snipers, except in CoD online - the maps are far two small for them to be used properly and I just hate those 360 no-scope d**kheads!

EDIT: Also someway to incorporate knife battles would be awesome! I don’t know how you’d do it(it’d probably have to be a VERY specific situation)but it would be so cool to see.
That would be nuts, always using explosive tipped arrows…not only would you be constantly drawing attention to yourself, I feel like it’s pretty brutal overkill
That’s a good idea for the handguns. I am a huge fan of stealth kills myself in games, and I will hopefully be able to recreate the difficulty of stealth strategy combined with the benefits of going silent instead of blasting your way through. I haven’t done a lot of work on the weapons or combat scenes that will be included in the game (just basic outlines), so right now I am definitely open to suggestions.
And there will be times in combat where using a knife will make sense (stealth, close quarters, etc.) but I can only think of one specific instance in my script where there is an actual knife battle, against a certain brutal Korkoro…but unfortunately, that wont be in this update

I don’t know, seems to me that a bow wielded by the most advanced computer technology in the world probably doesn’t need to be computer aided. And while using it repeatedly as a grenade launcher as you say will be a viable option, it isn’t really what the bow is meant for. It’s primary purpose will be your most powerful stealth weapon (from a distance), although the specialty arrows will give you the ability to use it in other ways. Not everyone wants to be a stealthy character though, so if you don’t mind being loud then guns are more powerful and have higher accuracy. Only pistols will have the option to be silenced at the beginning of the game, but there might be more powerful silenced guns later on.

But a dart gun against robots? Those would have to be impressive darts.

EDIT: Or, perhaps, shocking dart gun; darts that stun the robots.
What about rail guns
that fire projectiles using high powered magnets
that would be cool and futuristic.

@wolfwriter20, try playing some “Quake Live”; that’s what I played a while ago instead of Quake 3 itself; they even have private “Railgun 1-hit kill” servers.
Aanyways… I finally played your demo, and I felt like playing “I, Robot 2”, literally. Nice so far! ^^

Well, boredom made me play it. I didn’t spoil much as I only played with the Andanna (because it’s the only one available so far). Therefore, next time, I shall play with the other 2 types. And with this type as well, making other choices. Therefore, I didn’t spoil a lot ^^
