@Zane yeah the goal is mid-august but it might even be early September before it is up. Work has been slow, unfortunately.
@AlexCosarca the title alludes to the change that is coming for the Megaloids as they change from being slaves to fighting for their beliefs. Even in the demo, dreams play an important aspect to understanding how your character sees the world, etc. This theme will be built upon more throughout the game.
@Horace I believe their aggression does serve a purpose, almost as a satirical device, but I don’t think it comes across correctly as it is right now. It is definitely something that will require work. Thanks for the note on the tense…that is something I have struggled with when writing this. I write a lot of stories and pretty much always use past tense, but here I am trying to write in present so it is like the player is experiencing the events as they are happening; as such, I’m sure there are many more places where the tense switches. The editing process is always an interesting one
Sorry that I am not able to update nearly as frequently as I would like. Things have picked up at work and I’ve started taking classes again…so free time is a little short I am still working on the game every chance I get, and still hope to have the new update up in September (origin for Korkoro soldier). Thank you for the continued support.
Just played the demo, very impressed with the female machine storyline so far! I’ve tried to follow a path of helping humans who deserve help whilst being aggressive against those who disrespect or attack me. I’m looking forwards to seeing how the other robot types and occupation in the early chapters work out, not to mention how the three different factions work.
@Shoelip
If our robots can fall in love in this game I hope a more cute masculine exterior will become available as development progresses. As it is it’s rather unfortunate that the most attractive robot model in the game only seems to come with a female appearance.
@derekmetaltron, I’m glad you liked it! I usually lean toward a similar approach…I think Steven had it coming to him, but I would have acted to protect Elizabeth because she was nothing more than an innocent bystander to Steven’s insanity. I am really curious if people will continue to follow certain ideals throughout the game and what choices people will make.
@idonotlikeusernames, While the Adanna are considered by many to be the most attractive looking of the Megaloids, this does not mean that the Korkoro or the Meeka are unattractive. Far from it, really. Humans just have the tendency to force their views upon you at all times, and they see Adanna as the epitome of ideal Human beauty. The Korkoro are generally very large because they are heavy lifters/hitters, but they are still attractive. And the Meeka could really be styled to represent either gender, and could easily be a ‘cute’ masculine type.
Hey @Marius! It’s good to hear from you. I’m really looking forward to getting the update up as well. It’s been a lot of fun writing it and I feel it is quite a different experience than the Adanna origin, which is what I was striving for (that the experience will differ based on which model/profession you choose). It will be up this month, officially! Have we ever discussed your thoughts on the demo?
On my second playthrough I met Elizabeth and she made my character realize that not all humans deserve to be exteriminated. So my lovely, little Adanna is now simply homicidal towards specific humans instead of genocidal towards all of them.
This is a wonderful little demo. I look forward to reading more of the story as it gets written.
Oh sure! It is not quite as common as Adanna, but it does happen a lot. The thing is, those aren’t the roles they are supposed to fill (particularly Korkoro) so it is generally kept hushed. And as is the nature with many things that are taboo, nobody is supposed to talk about it but almost everyone is doing it.
Okay, so in the update I am working on, there is a section in which you must choose a weapon to take with you in the field. I was thinking about adding a compound bow as an option, but I wasn’t sure it would make sense. It would clearly be tailored for the size and strength of your Korkoro character, but in a futuristic age (the game takes place in between 2063 and 2065) would using such a weapon even be practical in any way? I thought about including it because I am very fond of archery, but I thought I would get some of your opinions on the matter.
Well a robot could shoot very fast and accurately, plus the bow could require strength to fire that humans don’t posses so they could not pick it up and use it, and reusable ammo I think it’s a good idea.
I think this is my first post here so
Great game love the whole thing
