Consolidated Thread of Game Ideas For Authors

Eep! I’ll make it my last game idea on here for a while to give chances for others to share, but I’d love to see an Olympics life sim story. I think with the spirit of competition this would be a pretty easy story to write plot wise, though focus and attention to real world information are big issues, obviously.

Hoping to eventually add an Olympic section to my game *lives of the star child * when I get back to writing that, but they’re probably years away for me schedule wise … in the meantime, we need an Olympic game!

I really just want a high fantasy game that isn’t about you being a ruler or a prince/ss.

But other than that, here’s some ideas I would like to see:

  • a korean sageuk if
  • a japanese if with yokai
  • a person is isekaid into the world of greek myth
  • low fantasy + greek myth mix. basically an adult version of percy jackson series
  • something set in ancient Egypt would be cool, especially if the protagonist was isekaied.

Like Choice of the Dragon, A Crown of Sorcery and Steel, The Bread Must Rise, Battlemage, The Hero of Kendrickstone, A Squire’s Tale, The Last Monster Master, Evertree Inn, Dragon Racer, The Magician’s Burden, or Way Walkers? There are a lot more high fantasy games that aren’t about being a ruler or royal than ones that are.

True. I don’t know why since its actually not that prevalent, but I’m sick of those. I’m also sick of the ones where you are the chosen one. Thanks for the list though, I now have some titles to check out.

There aren’t many games where you’re a king or emperor (I was looking for these). But there’s a lot of fantasy stories about being some noble or warrior or royal bastard. Or three in one.

A tale of crowns is a good recc for those looking to be a ruler/king: A Tale of Crowns by qeresî (itch.io)

I love this idea!

I read it but I gave up eventually. It seems the author likes to control MC and does not give too many options to the reader about personality and choices. Besides, you are forced to choose RO.

I love the idea and the setting, tho… Too bad there are no other games in this style (I would also love being ruler of the Roman Empire).

I would love a game about 8-ball hustling, random as that is. The whole culture of it seems so interesting, and I think aesthetically (divey bars, colorful pool halls, all that stuff) it would be super cool.

This but multiverse where after you conquer or liberate your first planet you get thrown to the wolves in a game of the gods where each universe is a different genre and your god powers may not work as intended within the realm. Can you survive the legions of nether spawn? Will you subjugate, pacify, enlighten, or liberate realms? Will you become a primal essence of the multiverse essential to it’s foundation? Will you become another nameless divine in a vast empire? Will you become a head god of a pantheon?

So many possibilities I may write it myself but I know I’d stop halfway through.

Off the back of the WIP Infamous and watching Ink Master, I’m waiting to see more reality tv/competiton IFs. I live for the drama.

Also wish that there were more games and consistently updated ganes where you’re this OP entity like Abyssal.

Hello guys, I have a question for you! I have a few story ideas for a new game, but I decided to first ask you what you like about a game. If you have suggestions or nice ideas, feel free to write them down for me here. I also hope that you can help me with more good ideas and I will then think about what I can implement.
Please note that English is not my primary language. In my game I would like to take up themes and values that fit my beliefs and my project. For me, spiritual, moral and positive messages are important, and of course there will also be fantasy elements.
Thank you in advance for your help and understanding! I wish you a nice time.

Can I just ask which of you COG or hosted games devs would be willing to creat a deep storytelling story about your own version of the Avengers and our MC could be a super soldier like captain America or a gamma monster like the hulk, or a spy like Natasha and Clint or a tech genius like Tony stark tbh I think most of us would be really interested in it……. Just a thought

It would obviously have to be a deep and storytelling games

None, because that franchise belongs to someone else, and would cost a hell of a lot of money to get a license to.

This isn’t a fanfiction website (though there is probably some floating around the forum somewhere). The rules for publishing something for profit are basically that you have to either own the setting, characters, etc, or have permission to use it.

If you’re asking for people to write their own superhero story, there are already a bunch of them. It’s a popular genre. Fallen Hero is the most popular right now, but there’s also the Heroes Rise trilogy, The Hero Unmasked, Diabolical (which is a very trope-heavy super villain story, but fun), and the list goes on, and on, and on, and on.

I’ll add that the authors here don’t really take requests of this type. This thread has existed for nearly a decade, and so far as I know not one published game has originated from an idea posted here. Authors may take into consideration what fans have to say to determine what genres and tropes are likely to sell well, and almost all of them give careful consideration to reader feedback, but they come up with their own basic ideas.

I read this suggestion as a request for a game with a similar premise to The Avengers, not actually a game set in the Marvel universe using established characters. If what you want is a game about a group of superheroes with widely different personalities, backgrounds, and powers coming together to form a team, there are several already-published games you might find of interest.

One of the closest to The Avengers is Unsupervised, in which the teenage sidekicks of the members of an Avengers-like superteam start working together again after their mentors go out on a mission and never return.

There’s also a game called The Last Scion, in beta now, in which the PC, the sole survivor of the destruction of their home planet, comes to Earth and helps bring together a team of heroes to fight back against a notorious team of villains.

I haven’t yet played The Superlatives, but it’s a series of two games that seems to be a steampunk take on the same sort of premise.

The Heroes Rise trilogy and Fallen Hero series are set in cities with superhero teams. You’re not a member of the team (although that can change in Heroes Rise), but you can work alongside (or against) them and build relationships (friendly, unfriendly, or romantic) with them.

He wants different kinds of people coming together not already established as heroes, becoming heroes.

Origin stories, rogue galleries, teamups. A normal person becoming and learning to be a superhero is the idea. Those examples, youre already established as one.

The last scion is nearly ideal because its superman origin but it already has established heroes as well.

If you were the first superhero on earth, that would be a good starting point of what he wants.

I’m not sure where you’re getting that, since The Avengers was a team-up of established heroes with well-defined individual origin stories.
