Choice of Rebels Part 1 WIP thread

The problem occurs on the menu to reassign mules from the sick to carry food instead. It specifically asks how many mules I want to reassign so if I want the number of mules assigned to the sick to stay the same, then that number needs to be 0, but 0 is not an accepted input.

The example in game goes like this: I thought I had a total of 20 mules with 17 assigned to the sick as the abler had requested. I try to buy the most food that the game claims is not too likely to be detected. I get the message that it won’t work with 2 mules so I assumed I must have temporarily bumped the mules to the sick up to 18 instead of 17. So I try to reassign 1 mule only to find out that apparently 1 mule had been lost and the sick already had the bare minimum number of mules. Admittedly, this would not be an issue if I were better at remembering or noticing things…

Yay, finally got Simon again, I’ve finally gotten the hang of this, thanks again @cascat07

"I had a child, damn you. A real one. My son, my beautiful son… and I’d sired another, before her, before you.
Can’t believe I apparently didn’t let this sink in before, but what happened to our half brother? Is he dead, or were he and his mother sold on to some other camp? I mean from dad’s tone it’s more likely they are dead, yet it isn’t really stated explicitly so on the small chance they aren’t will we ever meet them? In any case our dad the home wrecker, in his younger years since they most likely reason I can think of that they couldn’t have been together is if she was already married.

Just wrote that bit last night. Explanation forthcoming with next update…

Yeah, I don’t like to meaningfully trample on any toes. Could get away with it in the previous chapter 2, at least in some part because you could actually improve noble opinion by raiding that one noble house, but I can understand that it’s rather a having and eating one’s cake situation.

Priests are probably the best to give way, anyway, since they’re neither nobles, like my character, nor are they due noble protection, as the helots/yeomen and merchants are. Bit off to the side, they are.

Just wanted to pop in to say I finally pulled off a full pacifist run managing myself without my band absolutely hating me.

It was touch and go at times, and I had to sack the market in the beginning. I probably crippled myself for later by doing it, but I’m just so happy I succeeded as a pacifist! Barely anyone died and my band didn’t hate me, that’s pretty much the best outcome I’ve had so far. Thanks for an awesome game! I’m going to go celebrate now, then see if I can replicate it.

Sorry @Sleepyowl but that is not a PEACEFUL run lol. More than 11 is pure anarchy. My personal record is Zero but I normally go for one.and five if I am in a ultra ruthless day.

Not peaceful, just pacifist!

Whoops didn’t even read that Anarchy score, I thought it must have been low because I still got Simon/Suzanne. Now I’m embarrassed. But yeah, I was a pacifist apart from when I trashed town. No idea where all that anarchy came from. I’m going to need to tweak it a little I see. But I didn’t rob anyone so I’m still proud!

Well done Without steal! But that 20 is strange then. Did you burn the noble he or raid the tax people killing everything? Also with more than 11 you get Karl Karla. So you should do the anarchy after Simon joined

I-it’s not like I must horde all vaguely-implied-redeemable asshole characters from any medium into my clique as a way to cope with my traumatic bonding that never had closure… ha… ha… but, like, can I go no-steal at all and still get Kalt? Possible or no?

No, the Simon threshold has been raised (on account of the 10 week winter) to 20. 20 or under and you get Simon, 21 or above you get Kalt.

Edit:

Burn the land and boil the sea (well just burn the land really).

Also @Havenstone I think I should have had even more loot from that run but it doesn’t correctly add up from looting the nobles over and over somewhere in there.

I checked again, you automatically get 20 anarchy if you go totally bananas in the town. That’s slaughtering the theurges and alastors brutally along with sacking the whole town, merchants and nobles. Hmm, I don’t know, 20 is big for wrecking one town, if you just do the merchants it’s 15. But yeah, I definitely wracked up 20 anarchy without stealing anything. I don’t know whether to be pleased or disappointed.

I don’t like the limit for Simon has raised @Havenstone that doesn’t have sense. Also you quit me the only advantage i had with zero anarchy. My zero anarchy now is stupid. I don’t get money nor weapons nor sabotage from it. And the people who steal almost everything get exactly same guy as me. Zero anarchy should give some sort of merchant bonus or something. I just feel totally stupid right now.

Well it was raised to account for the long, grueling winter and the things you need to do to survive it if you’ve got a full band, including children. We don’t all want to owe our rebellion to the Laconniers after all.
Also if he didn’t it would mean my poor mc has to wait for the cute guys until the next game, at the very least. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The merchants don’t exactly like Hegemonic laws and all the trade restrictions either though, Mara.

Another Edit,

Since Karagon is a pseudo Greek descended culture and it is the time of the Olympics, do the Karagonds have something similar, or is inter-provincial, let alone international competition not something they want to encourage?
What is their sports-scene like, apart from noble hunting, falconry and pygmarchy?

  1. Anarchy 0 is surely its own reward for a devoted role player.

  2. You’ll have fewer Alastors coming in Ch 4 with anarchy 0. And it has to be 0 to get that bonus; anarchy 1 gets max Alastor deployment.

  3. Simon never required 0 anarchy.

I SMUGGLING THINGS FOR MERCHANTS AND WHAT I RECEIVED 60 barley I DON’T NEED!! I HAVE TO MUCH BARLEY SO MUCH THAT PART GET ROTTEN… I reach ten mules for free everyone gives me money. People wants to join me and I have tons of skins. However there is no legal way to make weapons why I couldn’t recluit a Smith apprentice or something? I still think all this game is doing is rewarding violence ajd burning everything. I get only stuff i don’t need.

Is there any way to lower anarchy? I never really check the stats but now I’m interested.

You need metal and tools and a forge to make weapons. Metal and tools cost. A forge needs to be in one place and can’t be moved like you guys are running from camp to camp.

Source: Forged out in the woods a few times. Uncle is a blacksmith.

I don’t know I am starting get angry, and if I get ngry I WOULD BURNING ALL THE SHAYARD NO ONE WOULD STAND ON MY WAY… TOTAL COMPLETE DEVASTATION… I need a reward for no anarchy. Only thing I see is rewards for being anarchy. Weapons money barley mules. And the only i get is free bad stuff. And no money. I couldn’t make a party because no enough money :frowning: Maybe sell my men like a slaves or something.

Here you go:

Your reward is harder to get because it needs to stay at 0 until chapter 4 but what a reward it will be.
