Hearts of Iron 4 will be released on 6th
So canāt you just push the update for a week or so, just for me and me alone
On more serious note, Iāll just have to play this on my phone while Iām taking a break from HoI. Iāve been waiting for the last public update, so I can finally play this, without being concerned about new content
And Iāll be waiting patiently for the opportunity to start showeling you my money.
Presumably 'cause by that point the plotās going to start getting heavy. It aināt fun for anyone if the good stuff⢠gets out.
If we look at it from a business perspective, itās just bad business to let everyone interested sample the entire product before itās readily available i.e.āwhy pay for it when I can ābetaā it?ā I think, in general, itās just easier to work with a small focus group of dedicated folks than a large pool of people.
On the topic of an āeasy modeā, why not have the custom name screen check for a specific ānameā (something nonsensey like ASfjpjrnmxka) and then add on a bundle of extra skill points, then let you enter a real name?
Excessive skill points should be all that one needs to make the game easy.
@Zolataya thanks for the suggestion. I may do something like you suggest.
@AStraali sorry! I donāt know much about Hearts of Iron but my updating ZE is a full day ahead, so thatās plenty of time

Hope they donāt run you guys through too much red tape.

Me too.
@Gregory_Pena thanks for pointing out the date typo.
I have posted the demo for almost 2 years and only get a few dozen people providing feedback, most of whom are the same people. However, hundreds of people read it, and at this stage, offering it for free for feedback seems fair to those who provide comments, suggestions, etc.
I also receive a lot of feedback that isnāt constructive, but I still answer. I get 2-3 emails a week asking me to add height and weight or more tattoo options or other things that donāt really help. I feel itās important to answer anyone who took the time to write to me but, as @Lithophene said, working with a small group of focused testers is more effective.
@Sylfaen some people have suggested I offer an in-app purchase for skill points. I am not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, I feel itās an unfair advantage and unnecessary to ācheatā the game. On the other, I have purchased IAP in a game to make it easier or to play with special features.
Iād like to know what others think. Would you pay $1 for 50 skill points?
Honestly? Yeah, Iād totally pay it. I know how to edit choicescript games and I do it all the time, and I planned on editing in bonus skill points after my first playthrough. But I wouldnāt do that if there was an IAP available, not to mention itād allow everyone to āeven the playing fieldā so to speak.
@JimD 50 skill points? I feel as if thatās too little, but 100 skill points for a dollar is a bit much. I think 75 for $1 would be worthwhile, and Iād buy it then.
Okay, apparently I temporarily forgot how to math. 50 Skill Points is roughly 5 extra skills from unlearned to level 4, which is about what you need for most major bonuses early on. 75 would be 7 skills from unlearned to level 4, plus an additional skill to level 5.
It seems a tad overpowered. Then again I guess the point is to cheat.
I think itād be a nice chance to give players a chance to play as more powerful characters while making some extra profit. Itās not even cheating, some characters just need more skills to be realistic. Just try to keep the content based on non-buyers. Iād hate to have parts of the game inaccessible because they require multiple high-level skills early on, which is impossible without buying the extra points, or something similar.
Also, congratulations on deciding to adopt, and good luck
Well the point of IAP is to give the player an advantage in the game. The IAP itself has to be a decent incentive to buy the IAP. I see what youāre getting at being a bit overpowered, but that would make me personally buy the IAP.
No I donāt pay for cheat However, I greatly paid for a small amount of flavour rpg scenes like for instance a new mission or just a flashback scene for each job background or mqybe a unique skill or situation per background. Pay for cheating just break the game balance and make me lost game enjoyment. I would pay for a hard core experience though, with less skills
@JimD That email thing reminds me of the developer of Yandere Simulator. Heās made multiple development updates that are in large part asking people to stop emailing him suggestions because he gets hundreds of them per month and explaining why solutions other than people just not sending him so much email just wonāt work. Course heās a rather weird guy developing a really weird game. I dunno if that has anything to do with it. XD
@JimD think I said before(if I did was ages ago) how about the choice of zombies route? as in add an op background. personally bought that for added gameplay, that way people who want an op character get one, but other people like me would still buy it just to experience everything. Canāt think of a background though as youāve already got military onesā¦
