If possible, I’d like to participate as well. I’ve only done one role play (coincidentally it was a zombie one), so I’m not sure if I’ll be good or not, but I’ll let you be the judge.

Is there a easy mode, without the need to craft, eat, rest, drink, etc?
Never liked those in games.

Wow! so much changed since I last played this game, it looks complex how did you manage doing it.

I’d like to participate, please. I’ve never role-played before, and I bet I won’t have much time to, but I’m just too curious to pass this up. I’m even happy to just watch, if you don’t want the newbie messing things up :sweat_smile:

Thanks for adding the “duffel bag” option. I already checked it out, and I love it. Its a good opportunity to replenish stuff or to get new stuff.

In chapter 2, the option “Eat a meal or snack”, can be selected repeatedly.
I found a bug in chapter 2.
When I attacked Lyle and Jillian and lost, I didn’t lose any health.

You charge and swing the hammer at Lyle’s He swipes down with the sword-cane and slices your forearm.

It looks like a part is missing from the sentence.

I had close combat weapons 30%.

It’s kinda tiresome when I buy at Thelma’s Convenience Store where I need to repeatedly click on a product like Chicken instead of just stating the number of pieces I want.

Could the MC ask Jaime to get a scope? I know that that sounds kinda weird, but I plan to put that on the M1903 Springfield.

Also, if the MC kills Lyle and Jillian, after we loot them, could we display their corpses outside the MC’s house? I would think that’d serve a warning to other survivors who rob me or something.

Haven’t checked out the option with asking Jamie to get you things, but I don’t think asking for anything specific would be the way to go. There’s a big difference between “Bring me a bag and some food” and “Bring me a scope and a coke. But not just any coke. Specifically a 600ml vanilla coke.” What makes your character think he even has access to one anyhow?

Or attract zombies to you. Easy meat and all that. Though that does seem like a good way to lead them into a pitfall or something.

hey just been thinking @JimD and got a couple of ideas can we have the ability to kill/kick out survivors if they get annoying?lol this’d be good as presumably they’ll take up resources and we could always replace them later. Thought of that as in z1(spoiler) loved the ending where you could choose who to take and leave behind, usually left everyone except emma and heather/mindy lol also I think it’d be good if more characters died, as loved z1 but usually only managed to get Javier(obvs) and kandas killed. one reason I love the ending of the new dawn of the dead as my fav character dies(and in the best way possible, the guy who sacrifices himself at the end) can’t really explain why I like that happening(if not overdone) but I do

Maybe it can add to your stress or one of those stats??

Hey @JimD. Me, @StarshinaSokolov and @Envy have a storyline in the RP that might give you an idea:

Mallory went for a solo scavenge in the morning (something that is disallowed in the haven but she does it anyway.) and found two survivors. After bringing them back, Mallory and Ivan were deeply suspicious about the two (they claimed not to be fighters yet they tried an ambush trick on Mallory.) the two interrogated them and found out one of them was a raider and other is his captive forced into the tactics. Ivan realised the raider group are becoming a very real threat and after gathering more information, decided to initiate a strike team of three against one of their outposts and capture their second in command. The strike consisted of Ivan (captain, infiltrator.) Mallory (scout, sniper.) and Micah (sniper.)

Right now, they have just eliminated the outpost with a swift and deadly attack. (6 dead, two captures.) interestingly enough, the raiders had a child soldier with them, to which Ivan and Mallory argued at one point whether to kill them or capture them. (ultimately deciding to capture the kid.) They are now in the moment of taking the two captive back to their haven for interrogation.


Another thing. Is it allowed for creating a topic advertising our RP pm and asking if anybody is interested in joining us?

I do not see why not, only thing mods frown on are necromancy, going off topic, and being intolerant. This board is a nice little sanctuary in the mess that is the net.

Back on topic, loving the update so far @JimD and @StarshinaSokolov tends to beat me to all the good punches and points.

Sorry for not posting much in the past few days but I have been busy with non-game stuff. Mainly, my wife and I have been attending classes and filing out piles of paperwork to be eligible to adopt a baby. We are still quite some time away from actually adopting a child but the process of applying is time-consuming. We are excited though.

The next update is July 5th at 9pm ET. This will be the last public update. After that, I will ask for participation in private beta testing for chapter 4 to begin in August.

Now on to answers.

@Urban no easy mode planned yet but it may happen. I figure it’s a game of survival so an easy mode isn’t ideal but I may implement a special mode I can’t describe yet.

I will add it to my “Psychopathic Wish List.” But seriously, the impact of such a thing is vast, so I will think if it is worth the effort. I do like the idea as I have never seen such a thing in a story-driven game.

I thought eating a meal or snack should be repeatable if you want extremely low fatigue at the price of food. What do you think?

Yes, later in the game. Some people will be off-limits, like Jaime, but not forever.

Even though I am breaking my self-discipline here, I have a thought here…

Why not present the MC with a couple of package options… choice a could be items 1,2,3,4 and 5 while choice be could be items 6,7,8,9,10. It could be a way to both balance what is taken for later game-play and a way to lessen the tedium of minute choice.
