Hey Jim D. I had a question. I chose to be a Homemaker and when I train other people in a skill some skills do not reach Expert level. Does that have to do with the attributes? If so, what’s the required percentage for that to happen? I also wanted to know the purpose of having a skill reach Master level?
Homemaker skill levels are capped at Level 5 (Superior). You can only raise preferred skills (which you get through any non-homemaker job) to Level 6+ (Expert and Master).
That’s not true. You can increase the Skill to Expert by training other survivors in a skill. I just found out about that actually. However, some skills won’t reach a higher level, which is what got me confused. I’m curious if that has to do with the attributes and if so, I’m curious as to what percentage it has to be in order to be increased.
- I actually had a cool suggestion for this one for those trying to make a character have Low Honor and have a minuscule consideration of humanity. By picking the last option when choosing why you’re Researching the Zeta Virus, I think it would be a good idea to add a feature where you can actually control the infected and physically enhance them or modify them by having a Science Lab and a Computer Lab for research with a set a variations. One would be…
1.) Crawler: Nimble and Deadly - Able to evade even the most sophisticated of traps. Even those that are good at Ranged Weapons have a tough time shooting it down. A good H2H or CCW are good at battling them.
2.) Runner: Fast and Potent: Those with an extremely good skill in Ranged Weapons can kill them in quick succession. Otherwise, being Adept in H2H or CCW will do the trick. Of course, strength plays a role here. And a Low strength check may result in death.
3.) Strongman Zombie: I actually don’t know how to name this one. But it’s basically a big and strong zombie that moves slowly. While easy to aim at, it’s head is hardened rendering bullets useless against it. Only explosives such as Grenades will do the trick.
- By choosing this path, I feel like you should have the option to leave the group and go to the research Facility where Murphy is located. That way with his help you can work on mutating zombies and wrecking havoc across the world. Only having a Master skill check in Science and Medicine is plausible in order to pursue this path. You will be able to build a militia of survivors who share your common goals and control dozens if not hundreds of infected through commands via computers. More Laptops means more chances to control more infected. This could also make all the Groups ally against you, even your previous team. I honestly feel like this would be an extremely good alternate story, and possibly have humanity unite against the infected, one which can lead in victory or defeat.
Until someone hacks your laptops lol and turn the zombies against u.
Yeah the controlling part doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I suppose just mutating infected with Murphy and containing them in a cell or in a guarded room. Then releasing them. It could also be used as a safety measure so when you get raided you release them and you’ll have a safe room where they can’t bust their way in.
Unless Jim can make it make sense such as Chips being implanted in the zombies brain by which you can control through computers (I also don’t know how you could hack through them unless you have direct access to the computers). Zombies are pretty unrealistic if you ask me, it doesn’t hurt to spice things up. Besides, Murphy could be a good major antagonist (instead of trashing him as a minor character) in Part 5 since Jim has plans for P4.
Is there any characters willing to join silverthorne militia in exchange for a alliance with them?
The following characters will volunteer to join the Silverthornes, as long as you have a low relationship with them, and a low group allegiance (in order of precedence): Gina, Kelly, Rosie, Bailey, Lopez.
Actually, @JimD, I note that Lopez will still volunteer if he’s dating Tommy. As I said in the prerelease thread, I don’t think this makes sense for his character. It’s one thing for him to reluctantly agree if you order him, but I really don’t think he’d choose to go of his own volition (especially since he won’t volunteer if he’s dating Jaime).
Even if u form an alliance with them they might eventually turn on u one day. We’ll yet to see any benefits from it. Personally I killed who I could from the crew that came to the camp and took out as many members of their group in their base.
Is it possible to romance ray?
Not yet I think. I haven’t played the delusion challenge but according to what I read in the forum you might have a chance to get some steamy scenes with them though I don’t whether that scene was in part 3 or will be in part 4.
If you choose to spend time with Ray at the Junkyard there’s a scene where Ray will take MC to the attic and they’ll masturbate in front of each other…Which I guess really means it’s just the MC getting busy with themselves while staring at a wall.
Please don’t romance Madison with Kevin, that’s all i want.
@JimD: I was looking at the Tommy conversation in Chapter 12, and I noticed a few issues:
- MC can claim to have “grown up with” Tommy; this is definitely true for a teen or student, but some other backgrounds would be noticeably older than him. (Admittedly, the MC could be lying.)
- Tommy claims to have met you in Chapter 4, but this is only true if
tommy_faction
was over 50. - Tommy claims that you never asked him to join, but he will refuse to join if
tommy_faction
/persuasion
/leadership
aren’t high enough.
I didn’t know u could get him later if u fail the first time thanks
Ah, no. You can’t get him to join in Chapter 12, you just meet him. Although, yeah, it would be nice if you could ask him to join, even if he seems… well, not exactly happy, but content where he is.
Wow what. I definitely need to do this, spend time with Ray how exactly though? As one of the options like (spend time with character to boost your relationship) or something else? Also, is there any interesting content like this (well, not exactly like this but I mean unique/insightful) for other survivors?
Anyway, just a minor thing but my character has pretty low health at the end of part 3 just through small injuries and stuff (and Ray getting them to try and claw through a wall, love you bestie!) and I don’t thiiink I’ve had any opportunities to apply even basic first aid to myself.
Also, what do you guys focus on building? I’m torn between self-sufficiency and potential trade goods. Must haves for me are workshop+, infirmary, science place and electronics place. Now technically my survivors don’t need a farm because they hunt enough and my cooking skill is high, but in terms of in-setting sense making is that smart? What if you overhunt? What about the greenhouse? More food or weed for potential trade? It would be nice to have eggs I guess but do we really need chickens? And how valuable is the chill space?
At least some characters are starting to figure out that something is wrong with mc when interacting with ray.
To be honest I could see finding chickens being a huge problem since even if one is found we still need to check for bites. I guess u could trade for one but whoever has is gonna demand a lot
It’s under the spend time with an individual survivor option. I’m not sure though if each day has a set interaction or if it’s random.
