Would it possible to change my turn to the sincerae to e working with lil bits of metal since they live at the foot of a volcanoe?

@Blackheart It’s late Stone Age technology, so what metal are available will be stuck together with rock until someone decides it’s useful to separate them (as well as figure out how to do it) and use them. Don’t worry, metal will be discovered soon enough. And if not by your people, you may learn it from another culture.

  1. What do your people call themselves? Attacoti

  2. What do your people call this land? This world? Elyissia, meaning many souls. The Attacoti believe in the natural order of things and in natural life. They tend to distrust things they find unnatural

  3. Where would like for your people to start? Snowfall Alps, presiding mostly in the northern half. But they venture south when hunting/gathering

  4. Are your people nomadic or sedentary? (Sedentary people must found a settlement and also name it. I will also allow a larger starting territory for nomadic peoples.) Nomadic tribe

  5. A general description of your people’s physical features - Due to the cold all year round, the Attacoti have developed more hair than a usual human, coating most of their bodies. The Attacoti are regular size humanoids. The thinner air due to the altitude has also given the Attacoti the ability to use more of thier lung capacity in comparison to a regular human (about 10% more). This gives them a higher stamina rate.

  6. A peculiarity in the way your people clothe themselves (ie. do they go barefeet? does everyone wear a hat?) Because they believe and worship the natural world the Attacoti wear the coats of the animals they hunt over most of their bodies. This is a form of respect to the deceased and helps keep them warm.

  7. What is the prevalent world-view among your people? Due to their “history” the Attacoti have a distrust of outsiders and prefer to be left alone. However should the need arise they are willing to trade goods and services as their tribes once did.

  8. A short history of your people within their oral tradition (ie. how did they come about? Who united them? Any legendary figures?)

Legend has it that the tribes used to be spread throughout the continent and were content in their existence. Hunters and Gatherers, they worshipped the land and its creatures, only ever taking enough to feed themselves and saying a prayer for the dead. The leader of a tribe whose name has been lost to history, chief Zalou, only had a small portion of land. When raiding began between two neighbouring tribes, he promised to aid the smaller one, in return for the land belonging to the larger tribe. However he wanted to keep his involvement secret. The chief of the smaller tribe, desperate for victory, accepted. But in return for keeping his secret, he wanted the wife of the larger tribes chief, famed for her ability to bear children, as he had no sons or daughters of his own. Chief Zalou arranged a meeting between the larger tribe, telling them he will offer them aid. But during the meeting he slaughtered the chief, his family, and a local tribesman. He claimed the tribesman was from the smaller village. Taking command of the angry tribe, he promised vengeance in the name of his "close friend’ (a lie). He lead his tribe and the other and wiped out the leader of the small tribe and took his tribe for his own, claiming he would slay whoever didn’t join his cause. He then lead this army from tribe to tribe, slaughtering and adding more soldiers and land to his forces. As word of this spread, a man by the name of Attacot united the tribes of the north and lead them southwards. Zalou’s forces outnumbered his own but Attacot and his fellow tribesmen fought well, until they were forced to flee. The fled into the mountains known as the Snowfall Alps, where they made their last stand. Attacot spoke to the land and its creatures, telling them of what had happened but the animals took no notice. Again he tried, this time telling them that if his remaining forces were wiped out, then the creatures would suffer as well, as he had many mouths to feed. Again the creatures did not listen. As Zalou and his army marched through the thick woods, Attacot and the remaining tribes faced them, knowing that this was their last chance. Zalou’s forces could not move coordinated through the thick woods, bottlenecking his forces. The heavy fighting began taking its toll on Attacot and his forces, and when it looked like all hope was lost, the forest came alive with howls. The local wolves, seeing wisdom in Attacot’s words, attacked Zalou and his army. Soon the other creatures of the forest came to their aid as well and after intense fighting Zalou and his army were finally defeated. However Attacot had also fallen in this battle. The remaining tribes people banded together and named themselves the Attacoti in memory of this great hero. Attacots son, Annaran decided to permanently move the tribe here. Thankful for the timely assistance of the wolves, who also spurred the rest of the forest into action, he outlawed the hunting of them. In thanks for this the wolves promised to lend aid to the Attacoti whenever they had need of it. 1000 years have passed since that battle and as the Attacoti evolved, the two species grew closer together and now it isn’t uncommon for a hunter to be accompanied by a wolf.

Due to the need for more soldiers, Attacot allowed women to take up arms in defence of their homeland. Due to this, the Attacoti make no distinctions between the role of male or female when it comes to hunting or gathering. Due to the large number of game in the area, the Attcoti diet is mostly meat.

Oops, I didn’t actually mean literal “immortality”. I kinda just meant that they live pretty long, compared to human standards. Like, their average lifespan would be around 150-200 years, since they barely ever go anywhere and pretty much stay in the same place and they’re therefore adapted to their environment well enough to live a bit longer. That goes for the illness thing, too. I pretty much just meant that they don’t get deathly sick very often, since there aren’t really any diseases that could be potentially dangerous, as they’re very well adapted to their environment but illness still affects them. The fact they don’t have too many visitors contributes to that, ‘cause foreign/new illnesses or diseases aren’t really all that introduced to them. They could still very easily be quite affected by disease or illness though.
Is that okay? If not, then they can just be plain ol’ mortal if you really want. I don’t mind. I just wanted to clear up what I meant.

@LOR

Considering none of our races have met yet I’m sure we each have or own immunities to certain things, although since we are still Stone Age I don’t think the immune systems were that good? As for living 150-200 years, I doubt haha will allow it considering what I had to sacrifice.

@LOR Ah, 150-200 years is still quite long, especially without advanced medicine and such.

Actually, I was going to suggest a whole Cult of Youth where people over 40 years of age are separated from younger people to allow the younger generation to develop independently from the prejudices of the older generation. However, it was actually a lie by the priesthood and they are actually sent out into the desert in search of new lands. Just as it was nearly impossible for outsiders to find the oasis, finding the edge of the desert was just as difficult and none ever return.

Also in regards to that myth, I was thinking it could be their explainantion for the occurance of illnesses. Not only will this serve a practical purpose, it also allows more reason for people to fear and hate those bearing Venia’s appearance. What do you think?

@WolfieGrey The immune system is actually much older than ten thousand years old. Also, you haven’t used your action yet. I’m going to post results in a few hours so if you want to use it, better hurry up! :slight_smile:

I quite like that idea, actually, @hahaha01357
I was thinking that could have some purpose to some degree. So that works too. :slight_smile:

@LOR Alright then! You are now welcome to use your action for the day.

Is the race creation going to end today?

  1. What do your people call themselves? The Enlightened. Otherwise known as the Sentients.

  2. What do your people call this land? This world? Gaea.

  3. Where would like for your people to start? In the near northern part of the Emerald Ocean, not far from the center.

  4. Are your people nomadic or sedentary? (Sedentary people must found a settlement and also name it. I will also allow a larger starting territory for nomadic peoples.) Sedentary.

  5. A general description of your people’s physical features. They are rather short and wiry. About the height of four feet tall- max, at adult due to certain beliefs and malnutrition. Their skin is lightly tanned, having the color close too of Golden Wheat. Their hair color ranges from dark brown to black. While having brown eyes and big heads. There is an exception to all these things for a certain individual.

  6. A peculiarity in the way your people clothe themselves (ie. do they go barefeet? does everyone wear a hat?) Everybody, and EVERYBODY, regardless to gender- only wears identical-looking green togas, due to the Unity of the people.

  7. What is the prevalent world-view among your people? Being cynic and arrogant, they view as if the entire world is deemed unfit to plague this world as rulers- It includes predators.

  8. A short history of your people within their oral tradition (ie. how did they come about? Who united them? Any legendary figures?) A group of ruffians came to the grasslands, trying to escaping from an mysterious outside, oppressive civilization (They were not native to the land). Until they stumbled upon a mysterious Obelisk/Monolith. The group of ruffians decided to setup camp for the night. The next day, a strange elderly man came to the Camp. His name was Dooley. And actually, he looked quite different from the tanned, sweaty ruffians. He was oddly pale, almost like an ghost. And had Gray hair due to age. He was charismatic and tall- almost hypnotic, he made conversation to the ruffians. Dooley had discussed his views of the Monolith, Science and Life, swaying the ruffians views of things.
    Soon after the speech, the people (ruffians) invited him to stay at the camp. Dooley agreed. And so, after weeks of inviting and accepting of Dooley, the people (again, ruffians) decided to elect Dooley as the leader. He accepted. Years after, Dooley had created a government that Successfully promoted Unity. The people even had forgotten who they once were. Dooley had shortly died years later, leaving the people to fend for themselves.

Action for today if I get to join: To Dry-farm Wheat.

So the two mountain societies, similar, except one is noble and the other militant?

@Happy Actually, anyone can create a new people at any time. They can even create people from existing people (ie. Out of a rebel group that managed to survive). However, as time goes by and the world goes on and gets more filled up, the conditions for new peoples will become more and more stringent. As for your people, I have no problems with them I just need you to tell me what kind of dietary restrictions and habits they are using that limit their growth to such height.

@ADNox Similar conditions breed similar people I guess. Don’t worry, the two peoples are going to develop quite differently even if your decisions are exactly the same.

I will begin going through today’s posts and writing the results for today’s actions now, so no more actions will be accepted for today. Tomorrow, I will start making an “Encyclopedia of Known Civilizations”. It will be included with my actions results posts and will be updated as more people are added and as existing peoples develop.

For the things I missed;

The main settlement is called Primar. Other settlements are not yet named.

The main food sources;
They hunt herd animals from the great plains, such as bison and zebra.
They found potato-like vegetables, and took fruit from trees.

Action for today: Begin to grow their own vegetables and fruit, and tame the local animals.

I thought the action was posting our characters, which I did. If not, then I guess I’m going to have them start rearing new pups to use for hunting.

@Pimp

Nah I’m perfectly fine with it, kinda honored

As for my people’s actions, I want them to start working on archery, refining the process to have more accurate and stronger bows, like Babylonian, Assyrians and Khmer did at respective times during their history, make a better bow that’s more suited for militaristic purposes as well as hunting. If that’s cool

@RockBou

None of the different cultures have had contact yet so I assume they don’t know about each other. If not, would they really start developing military ideas?

Some things I forgot to mention about my people: Due to the their love of the natural world and all life, they strive to create it and maintain the lives they take with the lives they produce. As such the Attacoti breed like rabbits and have a high population.

@AltoaRev

Grow different fruit and veg AND tame the local animals? That sounds like two different actions to me.

Like I said, it starts out as hunting and my people have already made an enemy with @Pimp’s people to a degree, more of wariness. Plus given the fact that warriors face off against creatures like jaguars in the swamp they need a powerful bow to keep them at bay
