Would anyone like to create a world with me?

Today’s results:

Feradians:
Having been a people that rarely consumed meat, the Feradians put their new-found fascination with all things wood into the creation of intricate carved statuettes, which decorate the homes of every Feradian. They have found a particular liking for the use of wood from the oak tree and over time, these trees has become quite valuable to the Feradians. There was one time, where a wolf wandered into the caves of the Lone Mountain and had to be chased out with a great deal of effort. To prevent this from happening again, a fence was set up around the cave entrances. However, due to neglect and vandalism, the fence quickly fell into disrepair and no effort was made to restore it.

Drindites:
When Adalwulf united the scattered tribes, he desired a title greater than simply “chieftain”. He wished to become a chieftain of chieftains and eventually settled for the title “King of the Drindites”. Founding the settlement, Drindathida, Adalwulf proclaimed that this shall be the first and greatest city of the Drindites. Thus began the construction of the “Ever-changing City”, because old designs are always torn down to make room for new ones. Because Adalwulf proclaimed that wood is not good enough of a material for the construction of Drindathida, Drinditian craftsmen are constantly on the look-out for better tools and better material to craft them with. This prompted a great exploration of the Swartzeberg Tal’s caves in search of better crafting material. Though several deposits of obsidian were found, nothing else turned up and the exploration efforts were soon abandoned.

Settling down with no staple crop was tough for the Drindites, especially when game around the settlement became scarce due to over-hunting. A lucky break came when a hungry Drindite was forced to eat the roots of a green plant while trapped by snow during winter. He survived and brought this plant with him to cultivate. Soon, numerous farms of this plant surrounded Drindathida and the Drindites’ food problem was solved. This plant became known as the potatoe.

As time passed, those not of noble birth became more and more occupied with farming and stone-crafting. While the Drindites lost much of their martial prowess, their people have gained a much greater understanding of mathematics through their construction projects. Adalwulf became know as Adalwulf the Builder and a legendary figure to future generations.

Afaceres:
Finding a need for a staple food when they settled down, the Afaceres eventually settled on wheat. Farming has provided a much more steady supply of food compared to hunting-gathering and as such, the Afacere population steadily increased over the years.

Current Population: 670

The Loux:
Rice cultivation was a terribly labour-intensive activity and the Loux soon found themselves failing to get the most out of their rice patties. Eventual development of several simple machines helped but without additional labour, the Loux will never be able to get the most out of their patties.

Current Population: 420

Oneiros:
Life continued in the swamp as it had always been.

Current Population: 200

Oymaci:
Life continued in the isolated underground of Dark Seed as it had always been.

Current Population: 160

Tullian:
Attempts to train a large rodent native to the jungles of the Broken Forest had resulted in abysmal failures. However, several Tullians was able to breed these rodents in large pens. This additional food source allowed the Tullian population to increase over the years.

Current Population: 230

Lunari:

Exploration, trade, construction, the Lunari did them all with equal zeal. However, without a focus on any particular thing, progress on anything was slow at best. Of particular note is the Lunari attempt at domesticating the mountain buffaloes. It resulted in a dismal failure and led to the destruction of a village and more than a dozen Lunari trampled to death. Needless to say, the Lunari aren’t eager to try again any time soon.

Current Population: 400

Sincerae:
The Council of Seven has been a turning-point in Sincerae history. After numerous years of conflict, the people of the seven clans are shocked to find out they still have much more in common than anything else. Though the Council of Seven remained, the clans had all but dissolved in the decades that followed. The elder of Clan Lust, whose name was lost to history, became known as The Peacemaker and a legendary figure passed down through history.

The unification of the Sincerae under the Council of Seven meant that the Sincerae tradition of warfare has been made useless. So instead, many Sincerae now find interest in carving giant totems for the worship of the elements. Once, during the yearly celebration of the Solstice, the Council of Seven decided to host a team competition for the best totem. This event became so popular that it was held again the next year, and then the next, eventually becoming a tradition among the Sincerae.

Attacoti:
The Attacoti hunting dogs became much more effective after hundreds of generations of selective breeding. This allowed the Attacoti hunters to better track their prey and provided a boon to the amount of food available to them. However, better hunting techniques also led to a faster depletion of the region’s game, leading to the Attacoti continuously on the move in search for game.

Current Population: 320

Macobi:
Life in the desert continued as it had always been.

Current Population: 120

Sentients:
The Sentients, as a people, began to focus on better management of their farms, especially in terms of water-management. Aggressive records were kept in order to track this and thus the first known standardised record-keeping method was invented here. Better management of the crops led to a much larger agriculture output and over the years, the Sentients steadily grew in numbers.

**The population estimates are based on your peoples’s location as well as the type of food they eat and how much ate available to them.
***You may take your action for the next turn.

@hahaha01357

Is the archery thing cool or do I need to change it? I already got my mind for the next day’s action and can just change that to first days. Also very nice with the explanation of history.

As you may have noticed, things may happen to your people even if you don’t take an action. This will become more prominent as the game goes on.

@RockBou
I will take your action into account for the next turn. You have time to change it if you want.

Nah if it’s cool I’ll stick with that.

On a side note, I’m totally basing the Loux off a civilization game I got going right now :stuck_out_tongue:

Now that the Attacoti had better hunting techniques and have exhausted their current food supply, they began exploring the rest of the Snowfall Alps, in search of new hunting grounds. During their years of wandering, they discovered that at certain times, food was more abundant in certain areas, when other times it was less so. Using this new knowledge, the Attacoti adapted their hunting techniques to allow them to selectively hunt from the different lands where food was abundant, being careful to allow the species they weren’t currently hunting time to replenish their numbers.

In the last years there have been many storms and lots of homes have been destroyed. After thinking how to solve this, the Tullians needed to make stronger buildings so they started experimentin with many materials.
They came out at stone. Its strong, able to hold place and there is much if it in the canyon.
Tullians are now slowely reinforcing the houses and other buildings with stone

Combining their mastery of wood with the discovery of music, from the echoes of the caves, the Feradians began creating the first wooden musical instruments. Flutes, as they would come to be named, were constructed out of oak branches. They were used to create beautiful music that would bring peace into anyone’s mind. So serene and other-worldly did the music sound, that it is said a Maavi had once settled upon the large boulder in front of the cave entrance to hear the Feradians’ music. As such, the flutes were carved to resemble the Grand Eagles, while the large boulder was named the Maavi’s Den.

@HaHa

After this days actions, are you going to post of map of where everyone is, and a pdf or whatever, of every races actions and that impact on them? It is wise to read up on the cultures around you.

As Drindathida expands, Adalwulf’s successors–claiming unbroken descent from the first king’s bloodline–massively deforest the northern valley along the river, clearing land for the construction of bridges, stone districts and farms. Using obsidian tools to drill point-holes into softer stones (limestone), they break away slabs along the fault line, for use as building materials.

The need for manpower prompts two cultural changes:

  • those defeated in blood trials are enslaved rather than executed, and put to work in the cave-quarries.
  • scout/slaver parties are sent south and east, along the waterways, using crude early boats, in search of still-free clans to raid, to provide workers, making use of rough obsidian axes and (if their mathematics are advanced enough for trajectories) and obsidian shard arrows.

Wolfie… how likely are your people, to fight their mountain brothers, if they encounter slavers who destroy nature?

ADN… Depends if they venture into our territory and what they are going to do with the destroyed resources. Also depends on the strength of the slavers. The Attacoti however *may* be willing to forgive such slights as a bit of foresting in our borders (if all materials are used) so long as 1: It doesn’t have a huge impact on the game in the area, 2: the Drindathida share the secrets of crafting their obsidian weapons.

As Wolfie said, my action was sort of two turns, so I’ll go with this for my next turn;

Some enterprising Afacere have made use of large animals nearby, with varying success, to help with the agricultural labour. Bison-like animals and horse-like animals were candidates for this.

@AltoaRev

I think that you can *try* you do more than one thing per turn but with varying success. The Lunari and the Drindites are good examples of this

In case my action wasn’t clear, I meant conservative hunting.

The Oneiros begin to coexist with their swampy habitat. Through trial and error, which explains their low population, they learn herblore. The many plants begin to grant them knowledge of poisons, narcotics and medicine.

Whether or not you succeed in your action(s) depend on what they are, how much people/resources you have to work with, the cultural disposition of your people, and a little bit of random chance.

@hahaha

is it to late to alter my action a little?

  1. My people call themselves Crudal which on their language means “Those who are harsh”
  2. My people call this land Croni and the whole world Isri
  3. They will start on Ignis.
  4. sedentary and their settlement will be named Lakedaimona(it’s the ancient Greek name of Sparta)
    5… Ignisians would be like generally tall people (5,6-6,5 feet) they’ll have pale skin and blond or red hair and a variety of colours in their eyes even purple or orange let’s say ( Why not? :P)
  5. They do walk barefeet due to the fact that the lower parts of their legs is stiff, which comes especially if you walk on rocky ground for a lot of time( the desert people considered the soft legs sign of beauty in the real world while people like Scots-from what I’ve heard-the hard ones.).They wear clothes made from animal skin or bones(for the most important people) cause they’re mainly a hunting and fishing people due to the fact that I’ve left them no space to cultivate :P. Their Shamans wear only Bear hide which they kill on their own in order to have the title.However,fishing and hunting as well as tree fruits provide a steady supply.
  6. They believe that they’re the higher clan to have ever existed amongst the kind. Something like the Aryan people of Hitler I guess.
  7. Crudal believe that Isri was carved out of the last great battle of Gods and Titans. The human kind was created when Pono the master of gods ripped to pieces Kion and scattered him on the world.
    His different body parts sprouted in life on Isri and out of his heart still pounding that fell on the island of Ignis came the Crudal this is why they consider themselves to be brave and smart.

hey,sorry for being late at the selection of people but i had some family issues that needed to be taken care of yesterday. I have a nephew!!!
Can I take another action today too?

Action for the day!

The Kral (King) of the Oymaci has decided to begin works upon extending their underground network so that they can have quicker journeys and maybe have trade routes from the safety of their underground tunnels. Due the desperate need for workers the Kral is encouriging couples to produce larger families.
