Since Podge blew up the cabin and we moved in with Nin, the game seems to have forgotten that Al Goultier is dead and that the Cabin is gone, and we’re just back there for some reason yet it doesn’t forget the upgrades Podge has done to Nin’s house.
It’s a little annoying but I don’t mind it, something that’s just sort’ve there.
It bugged out thus disallowing me from getting anything in that regards, since it always referred back to the Cabin instead of the mansion and spending time with Nin, even saying how my MC hardly sees her for weeks sometimes because he never gets out to see her
But I did end up sending an email, and I’d really love to see more options for that pathway if the bug is fixed.
To see it, you fight the Goultiers when they’re there smashing all your stuff. The fight will escalate, the Goultiers will get killed, and Podge will blow up the cabin to cover your tracks.
This is just a random thought but regarding romance in these type of games. I think one of the things that makes vampire related romance more intriguing as compared to werewolf romances is that as a vampire, you usually get the chance to turn your lover (if they were not a vampire) into a vampire just like you or something similar at least, while as a werewolf, you don’t usually get that option. So I’m sure the option that vampires have are something that most players would like cause it gives them a way of corrupting/changing a character to their liking.
This might be my favourite quote of the week, with and without context! That said, what if you do a playthrough as a cold and calculating MF at some point? I’m on my fourth proper playthrough and have decided to take no prisoners - everyone dies, no matter how big or small a traitor. Except it’s soooo difficult! I have to be so alert to ensure I don’t accidentally pick options that take away from my convictions.
Username checks out. I personally wish we could be pervy and flirtatious with Podge, see how uncomfortable we can make him. I at least wish there were an opportunity to say, “Maybe we should read it together” when he tries to give us that tentacle hentai manga.
Damn, I’m having so much trouble romancing Nin. Why’d the author have to say she was 7? I really need to stop thinking of her as an oversized cute doggo (I permanently treat all doggos like babies) and more as a grown woman who would be 25+ in wolf years. I think I’ll try to romance her while playing as an asexual PC. Or, if we get the chance to play as a wolf born, then maybe it’ll make sense to me.
Has anyone successfully managed to romance Nomi? I only ask because their relationship with us isn’t mentioned in the stats.
Awwww! Defo never happened to my MC (I’ve only romanced the other three). I really adore Nin though. She’s so funny and sweet and she has my whole heart. Like my entire freaking heart. She’s got the least violent way of dealing with us when we lose ourselves to our Rage, too. Just sings a really sweet song. And I freaking love how she has an apt song for every occasion. Especially the first time I met her, I was trying to urgently warn her against the Nazis and she was just playing fuck off Nazis on her guitar or something. (My biggest regret with this book is that I don’t recognise half the songs she plays.)
Damn, same with the other three ROs. Which sucks, because those sorts of conversations are the best part about relationships (to me) and yet we’re forced to limit ourselves.
Ayyyy @Moochava do us a solid and let us exhaust all the conversation options with our ROs, please? And let my intelligent and academic MC be smarter during romantic interactions with Elton. He just gives her a bunch of books to read every time and MC says that because he’s so passionate, it doesn’t feel like homework. But for an intelligent+academic MC, it should not have felt like homework anyway, and we should’ve been sitting late into the night discussing Foucault or something.
Oh! This is nice! Just have our RO come along with us on shopping trips! I think that way we spend the most time with Podge and Elton by default, so I find myself gravitating towards those two more always.
+1 … Actually, +100
Ohhhh! So Katherine’s gift is how you bind spirits! I was wondering how to get that achievement. Random playthrough as a theurge, here I come!
Yesss (my enraged MC hulked out and we had to leave the place) and no (not in a non-RO route anyways).
@Kestoren interesting that you got that bug, because I didn’t! Hmmmm… Good that you reported it.
@JBento I wouldn’t call it “failing” necessarily. I freaking WANTED to wolf out because I was so freaking done with those assholes. So when playing as a Black Fury, I kept picking fight and intimidate options and voila!
@Zarkrai interesting, I actually never liked any vampire romances, because they’re so selfish and shallow, in both Choice of the Vampire and Night Road. With the wolves, it really feels like you’re baring your soul to the other person.
I do too. I’m just saying that there’s a certain appeal to the vampire part where if you’re romancing a human for example and when your relationship is close enough. You broach the topic of gifting vampirism to them. If I have to compare it to something. I get a similar feeling in Star Wars (swtor and kotor specifically) when I’m a Sith and I turn someone to the dark side. Especially a Jedi or Padawan that I can convert into a apprentice. That feels really good for me for some reason. I like being able to corrupt someone to a darker side and they actually take pleasure in it because they either get stronger or see a new perspective that they like.
Like this kind of thing.
Example
I wanted to find a gif of Sith Lord Starkiller vs Luke but I couldn’t find the right gif.
Hear me out, there’s VTM: Bloodlines where you can turn someone into not a Vampire but they’re like a human that’s drunk Vampire blood (I forgot the term for them) and they will basically be in love with you and do things for you in the game, such as gathering items, ammunition etc.
They will also wear one of 3 outfits that you want them to too.
I get where you’re coming from though, I feel like a good Galliard as a sort of Bard might be able to with enough charisma, manipulation and gifts, convince enough humans or even a few to become essentially what kinfolk are, but still human but they help out the Galliard and their friends/pack. But of course, it’s not like Skyrim where once you get bitten and survive a crinos werewolf attack, that you become a werewolf.
On the other hand, you can be like the Cult of Fenris and basically manipulate and then threaten/pay a bunch of mercs into becoming your henchmen.
The melodies mission was a great way to rapidly drop my litany score, so long as I, at literally every oppurtunity, went out of my way to shout “I hate the litany” from the rooftops. Plus disregarding Stormcat. From the jump hating the litany, bullying stormcat, jumping at scarper, showing zero remorse or care for black tarn and clay and bam, Katherine is mine. Never really had a problem jumping extremes with the convictions. My issue is trying to build more than 1 conviction in a single mission. That seems to make my entire personality jump all over the place.
