New DLC out now! "Seek and Destroy" in "Werewolf: The Apocalypse — The Book of Hungry Names"

We’re excited to announce new content for Werewolf: The Apocalypse — The Book of Hungry Names!  “Seek and Destroy” is the latest DLC addition to the sprawling epic.

“Seek and Destroy” is on sale, along with the “Book of Hungry Names” base game, the “Wardens and Furies” DLC and “Those Who Refuse to Die” DLC, until April 17th!

“Seek and Destroy” unlocks the options to play as a member of the Red Talons tribe and the nomadic Silent Striders tribe.

And, in a special mission, 175,000 words long, hunt down a vampire who feeds off the weak and the helpless. Along the way, you’ll uncover his connection to forgotten secrets of the Three Families and the bloodstained legacies they left behind.

Finally, at no additional charge, we’ve added support for poly relationships in The Book of Hungry Names. You asked for it, and you can now form a throuple with any two of Elton, Nin, Melodie, or Podge. That’s six variations in all, all with unique dating and romantic experiences.

The whole game including all DLC now comes to a whopping 2.1 million words! Enjoy!

Oops, the new DLC doesn’t seem to be available yet in the Google Play Store “Book of Hungry Names” app yet. But you can still access it in the Choice of Games app available on the Google Play Store today.

(It’s also available now on our web site, on Steam and in our iOS apps, either the Choice of Games app for iOS or the Book of Hungry Names standalone app for iOS.)

The biggest ChoiceScript game ever just got a proportionally epic DLC.

Fans who have been champing at the bit for months now wondering when this would be ready won’t be disappointed. I’ve played this game a ridiculous number of times before and after its release nearly a year ago, and although it never quite gets old (seriously, every time I think I know this game inside and out, I stumble upon something quirky and wonderful, like … accidentally starting a swing-dance fad?), I loved having an entirely new adventure in this setting, with these characters. It starts as a wonderfully spooky mystery, and expands to include chases and negotiations and dark secrets and a connection to the main storyline. Even without the rest of the new content, the bonus mission would make this a must-buy.

And if you’re not yet a fan of The Book of Hungry Names, this is the perfect opportunity to get started, while the game and all DLC packages are on sale. Even at full price, this game offers a lot of bang for your buck, and on sale it’s an even better deal. The portion of the game available in the demo is very generous, and more than adequate to give you a good idea of what to expect: a dark, strange journey both spiritual and violent, sprinkled with moments of connection, humor, and triumph. It’s definitely worth a try (and I must admit, I’m envious that you get to play it for the first time!).

I hope you all find some amazing treasures amid Lucinda’s antique hoard.

Yeah, but it doesn’t work. Lucinda’s antique shop option disappears forever if you don’t choose it right away, and 70% of the way through a new playthrough and there is no way I can see to join either of the new tribes. No sign of this new mission either.

I assume you’ve already played through Ch7. Have you done what was necessary to restore Rosemary Street? If not, make that a priority. Once Lucinda gets back on her feet, you should be able to visit her antique shop again.

The new tribes require you to obtain items from Lucinda’s stash, and you unlock the new mission by picking up some extra work in her shop.

I fixed Rosemary Street, yeah. No option to go to the antique store ever appeared. I was forced to join a different tribe eventually once I got to chaoter 10… and after doing Chemikon I got an infinite loop of Nin talking about “feast” at Neo Albion HQ, making it impossible to continue my game. Don’t know if this loop bug is old or new, but pretty disappointed with the DLC either way at the moment.

Can you send a detailed account of these issues to support@choiceofgames.com? Include screenshots if you have them.

Pushing a new build to all platforms with several bugfixes.

This might already be fixed in this update, but I encountered the same problem as Cogwheel and it doesn’t seem like the poly route is triggering for me. I asked out Podge after entering a relationship with Elton and he said yes, but the option to actually go on a date never showed up and there’s never been an opportunity to talk to Elton or him about it since then.

I got the dlc and tried a playthrough. I managed to find Lucinda’s antique shop and got a job there but after that nothing happened. The game just carried on as before and there was no further mention of the antique shop or anything else. Have I missed something or are there any particualr things that you need to do/avoid doing to trigger the new content?

There should have been opportunities to work there showing up in the menu.

I thought as much but nothing else ever came of it. By the time I got to the part with the antique shop i had already joined a tribe and my main job was at Gorsky Manor. Could either of those things have prevented the new content triggering?

Not unless something changed after testing.

Maybe I missed something along the way? I’ll give it another go later and see what happens. Will post again with an update.

Awesome, this game kicks so much butt. Just, uhhh, you’re gonna want to wait a bit before playing because the new DLC seems to have broken some things. The new bugfix mentioned got me out of the endless loop I was in and straight into another unwinnable state where I can’t leave the main hub.

I feel like I should have learned my lesson long ago about buying any game (or DLC) upon release, but I was stoked for this new DLC and am stuck sick in bed for a while. Do as I say and not as I do though, give it a week or so to cook and I bet it’ll be mostly fixed.
