Vampire's Kiss—Unleash your lust and your thirst!

I’m absolutely in love with this one. I’ve been in bed poorly today and have played it through five times. Sooooo good.

Literally my only complaint is that Fergus isn’t romancable and I can’t bugger off into the wilderness with him at the end

Played through, definitely one of my favorites on the Heart’s Choice app. Felt tightly written and many characters were compelling to me, enough that I look forward to replaying it again.

My only disappointment was despite the three pepper rating, I didn’t feel like the romance I got with Saffron had much though. Although I imagine she could be more an exception compared to others due to her… unique role in the plot lol.

@starpendle I mean, with Saffron you can have a romance scene where you transform into her twin and have kinky roleplay sex, have monster sex with your claws and fangs, or even get her to call you daddy with S&M. So it can definitely go high on the spiceometer! So glad you’re enjoying it!

@Cakesandtea It sucks you’re ill, get well soon! But I’m glad the vamps of the Dance of the Night are there to keep you company. Fergus wasn’t an RO as he’s such a Puritan (literally)he probably would be terrified of unbuttoning a shirt. If I do a sequel, though, he would be a romance option in the past.

What I’m hearing is I need to romance Saffron. For… scientific reasons.

Edit: I’ve now completed my first playthrough! I didn’t romance Saffron (this time) but went for Kurt and managed to get a pretty happy outcome in general.

I enjoyed the plot a lot - it felt very well put together and I can tell how many different paths and outcomes there are which is really impressive. The vampire society was a lot of fun, the writing style was a pleasure to read, and I found I was always able to pick from at least one choice that suited my character and path through the game. The vampiric powers were cool and I had a solid sense of what I could do with them, and I liked the lore around the vampire magic and society in general a lot.

I really liked Kurt! I also enjoyed that there is obviously a lot in the game that I didn’t scratch the surface of - I failed a few testing choices that meant there were some characters I didn’t get to befriend (RIP my potential friendship with Zach), but I look forward to trying again on another playthrough and exploring more of the game.

I’m glad you enjoyed it! And I’m sorry you didn’t get to romance Saffron, get the extra cat-pets or meet the hedgehog this time around.

Amusingly on my first playthrough of the demo section, I did meet Klem and the lovely cat again, but when I replayed after buying, I decided to try to talk to a human instead at that point (which uh. Didn’t go well). Hedgehog remains elusive!

Chatting to Zach can either go very well or very badly depending on your earlier stat choices: he actually offers an entirely different route through Chapter 5 if you convince him to help in Chapter 3.

To find the hedgehog, one must find (and be liked by) Nemo.

Heyyyy I really enjoyed this one!

My only critique is the romance scenes. They felt a bit rushed and without enough build up. They’re not bad per se, and I understand the limitations of word count, but it kinda feels like the 3 peppers represent less than 1% of the game.
I tried the Marky (both ending as humans and vampires) and the Kurt routes. I might have been spoiled by the other 3-peppers game I played (Their Majesties’ Pleasure), but this one feels more like a 2.

Still had much fun with it, though! Still having fun actually, as I still have to try the Saffron and the Alex routes

I’m glad you’re having fun, @Amedyr ! One thing I am definitely taking on board is that people wanted more time with some of the ROs, and perhaps more bonking. I think the Saffron option is probably the most out-there for spicy possibilities. But it is a very different path to the others with an entirely different endgame.

The three-chilli rating is partly about the language used and the opportunities to include kink if wanted (plus some of the use of vampire powers as desired), rather than solely length/frequency of scenes, so I can see why this one had that rating, but I would have definitely loved some more chances per playthrough to get steamy. The characters are very appealing so it would have been great to have more of that kind of time with them.

I did notice that many of the scenes with nonbinary partners were less detailed than with the male and female versions of the same characters. I would probably class those as two-chilli, especially when with a nonbinary MC too.

Warning! Evil PC incoming!

I certainly didn’t set the non-binary options to be any less engaging for the reader; with non-binary you can’t make any assumptions about anatomy and so certain intimate acts, particularly around penetration, couldn’t be described and I tried to focus on emotions and passion instead.

Yes, that makes sense, for nonbinary MCs in particular. I did certainly find the scenes engaging - just in some cases less detailed/specific than the others and not quite the same explicitness level. Because of how steamily (my browser says that isn’t a word, but I disagree) the male and female NPCs and their scenes were described physically, it felt like a bit of a contrast to me.

I do think there is room for describing nonbinary NPCs’ bodies in more detail in games that include explicit content about characters of other genders - though obviously there is more variation and the importance of avoiding a gross “what are they really” tone - and nonbinary MCs’ bodies also, though that brings additional complexity. Those are perhaps wider questions for another thread at some point! I have a whole essay in my head about interactive/variable intimate scenes that I need to make a time machine in order to write

I figured as much! I wonder if there’s a way to make her rethink her objectives, a redemption arc if you will. (nobody tells me, I wanna find out!)
But even if there is, I’ll definitely try the full evil run as well, mwahahah

Hee! I haven’t tried it yet as I’m a wuss when it comes to evil paths, but it sounds pretty tempting!
