Thank you so much for the quick and informative reply! Finally got both of them. Secreted Away is very obvious in hindsight, but my one attempt to refuse drinking from him resulted in my character just walking out the door, so I assumed the first refusal option would have the same result and didn’t pick it. Our Savior I don’t think I would have ever figured out by myself, so I really appreciate the precise info.
And thanks to you too GreekWinter. I don’t know how to reply to both of you at once, but I hope you see this and know your input was appreciated!
Am playing as a Nosferatu, and trying to get early Achievements - such as Spying Ward without being seen, and taking out the snipers by myself. None of my choices at the construction site in Ch 1. seem to work - and I’m wondering if I need to be playing a different clan to unlock those Achievements. Am playing as Nosferatu, so that I can unlock the driver ghoul Achievement later on.
Spying Ward, you mean “Surprise Attack”? You need to be Toreador and use Auspex to spot and use an alternate entrance. And you need Fortitude to kill all the snipers.
You’re right about needing another clan. I tried to add in a decent amount of variance from clan to clan, including a few of the chapter 1 achievements to show off the discipline powers early on.
Get the Surprise Attack achievement by being Toreador (or any clan with Auspex) in chapter 1 and using it at the earliest opportunity to find a secret door.
For the Rip an Tear achievement, you need to be Ventrue and use Fortitude in chapter 1 the first time you’re offered the possibility.
You need to be on the Anarchs’ side, but do not go to Arundel’s villa with Ward.
Side with Sevinc and go on the bombing run.
Make sure Sevinc doesn’t die by keeping her from detonating the bomb.
Escape the city and flee to Toronto, not to Kitchener
Have played four times now, and have just written a list for myself of the remaining 28 Achievements and what tips there are on how to get them.
I’ve yet to get ‘Right man for the job’. Thought this would just be a case of matching Gerald’s chosen background with the investigative tasks my character gives him - but haven’t yet cracked this nut.
I’ve not yet found the sleazy reporter, either.
Plenty more I could quote on - but for now, I’ll just say I need to also get ‘Besieged’, ‘It’s Raining Princes’, and ‘Never Sicker’.
So far I’m enjoying the game - but I was hoping for a bit more detail in the love scenes with Qui or Jordan (with optional ‘Fade to black’, as per the author’s Werewolves stories). Oh well! Looking forward to when the next female love interest is added to this game. I agree that Lucca would be the obvious choice.
It’s just like you said match the background with the task
For example if Gerard was an accountant make him do that task about economics - I don’t quite remember them - you won’t be able to get it immediately though, you have to keep playing until you reach that scene when Qui comes to your home, that’s how you get it
Re: the detailed love scenes, these are toned down because of editorial mandate. ‘Vampire: the Masquerade’ is a licensed IP, and we have to follow extremely strict guidelines from an outside company. One of those guidelines is that vampires do not have normal human sex. I was told very clearly NOT to put in sexy times other than mutual bloodsucking and maybe some grinding.
The Werewolves games are my own creation, so I was allowed to do whatever I wanted with them, so the sexy scenes were allowed.
As much as I enjoy a good normal romance scene I think the restrictions imposed by the World of Darkness IP really add something extra to the characters and the world, and you did a good job in exploring them in a compelling way.
I loved the “We can’t really have sex so lets kinda fool around a bit then go be corpses in bed together” scene with Jordan. The sleeping together scene in particular really struck me with just how alienating and inhuman being a vampire must be. You really nailed the weirdness of kindred intimacy - morbid and ultimately kinda desperate and pathetic but somehow still sweet despite (or maybe because of) it.
It actually depends with the kindred humanity, if they have high they can still do it, the one in the middle can only replecate it wasting vitae in the process, the ones with low humanity are dead fish.
I’ve played the game six times now, and have combed through this forum to check on how to get the outstanding Achievements. Too many to mention at present - but I’d appreciate some pointers for:
Ghoul Down - I tried using Celerity against Ichirobut that didn’t work. I’ve not managed to set him alight, either, for another Achievement (if I recall correctly).
Spied the Spy - I’m presuming Auspex is needed, but as to where and when… During the street meeting with Ward, Sevinc, and Hauberk?
Closure - I’ve had the MC’s memories unlocked, and tried all three of the options whilst reliving the memory. But ‘Closure’ eludes me.
A Monster Made - Is this involving the killing of Lucca by the MC? I’ll add that so far, my MC has never reached the trial. He/she has always been rescued/released by another vampire from the holding cell.
It’s Raining Princes - I suspect this involves Arundel fighting against Annabelle, and the floor gives way underneath them?
Never Sicker - I have no idea on this one!
Jasmine - I’ve managed to save this vampire lady when the bombs first go off in Elysium. And my MC gets a thank you note, indicating she would repay the favour. But does she turn up anywhere after that?
Thanks in advance! It’s good that this game has a high replayable factor, allowing for uncovering previously-missed parts.
It’s been a while since I played, but I think I remember some of these:
Ghoul Down - There’s several events where you fight Ichiro, for this one you have to team up with Qui to investigate the elysium (to get there you must not side with vivian or bouchard and answer all of qui’s questions honestly). When he shows up just jump him. To light him on fire, you need to first grab hauberk’s gun when he threatens you with it and use it on ichiro when you meet him.
Spied the Spy - Yes Auspex is needed, and it’s during the blood hunt when you go after the tremeres. Near the entrance someone will be skulking (probably sevinc but I never confirmed it)
Closure - This one is not about the MC, but a side character. During the blood hunt, don’t join jordan and stay with the group. Talk to the nervous mortal and ask about his daughter. After the hunt is over you should approach his daughter to get her the closure she needs.
A Monster Made - Never gotten this one, but I suspect it’s in Arundel’s mansion if lucca goes with you. Stopping her from unstaking arundel will cause her to turn on you. I ended up going with her on my run but I think if you still oppose her you’ll fight and drain her.
It’s Raining Princes - For this one, help corliss become prince, but maintain a low reputation with her. This can be done by going against her throughout the game then betray whoever you were supporting to help corliss during the battle (there’s many different ways to do this so I can’t give the specifics). Anyways, if that’s done, you’ll get a different ending than if you have a high relationship with corliss
Never Sicker - When hunting, choose the bar and approach the drinking man (you can’t play as nosferatu if you want to hunt in the bar). You’ll get an opportunity to drink some beer to maintain your cover. Pass the required check to keep it down and you’ll get the achievement.
For Jasmine I’m guessing she’ll spring you out if corliss throws you in the slammer, if you don’t have anyone who backs you and you did not convince lucca that you’re innocent.
Heyyy I hope I’m not too late to make questions here, I’m just new to the game and I’m really obsessed!
What’s the deal between Alisha and Bouchard? Why Ichiro have his sword?
(I have a theory in my mind that Bouchard was denied permission to embrace his mortal lover — or didn’t wanted to transform her into a Nosferatu monster — while Alisha had permission to embrace but didn’t had any candidates, so he tried to make a deal with her so he could get his lover embraced but Alisha didn’t made her part of the deal and the mortal died. He attacked her and was defeated by her powerful ghouls and had his sword taken… But well, that’s just me writing a fanfiction, I wanted to know the canon reason.)
Also sorry for the broken english, it is not my first language, please let me know if it was unclear or not polite ;-;
Thanks. My character has been in the Elysium basement with Qui a couple of times, but despite trying to tackle Ichiro, I’ve not been able to the ‘Ghoul Down’ achievement yet.
‘A Monster Made’. Only twice have I managed to get to Arundel’s villa with Lucca. And both times were with Jordan as well. On the second occasion, I did stop Lucca from unstaking Arundel, but the diablerie option didn’t show up (probably because of Jordan being present?). I’m wondering if it’s possible to get to the villa with Lucca, alone. I’ve not being able to get this outcome yet.
After 11 games, I’ve just a few Achievements to get now! But it’s now at the stage where I’m only getting one new Achievement during each play.
