Hey, hon! If you can make sure to use spoiler marks to avoid spoiling anyone looking at this thread that would be great! They’re located in the menu under the gear! This goes for everyone, I’ve seen a few posts without tagged spoilers and there will be people looking in here to see if they want to get the game.
For myself, I brokered peace, stayed human, romanced Adam, and still got the FBI ending.
To be entirely honest, I totally loved the game, and it was my favorite thing Jim’s written. With that said though, the FBI ending, while it did make my friend and I laugh just from how out of the blue it was, left a bad taste in my mouth. It made me feel like the outcome I worked hardest to get was ultimately a waste. I loved the journey and I’ll be replaying again, but the whole “don’t contact your loved ones again” vibe just bummed me out entirely.
My theory: I think you just need to do well enough that the cat doesn’t have to distract him. You’ll always be saved by Chastain, but if you’re able to keep him off of you until she arrives the cat won’t have to interfere on your behalf. Doesn’t matter if you punch him around, turn undead, whatever. Just got to delay him till Chastain gets there.
How do you kill all vampires? Each time I tried to go down that route Monroe will just do kill steal last minute while the gang is just standing around being all friendly, even though the plan was to let the vampires fight it out and kill anyone left, am I missing something?
Mine asked Monroe to make us a vampire if we help her but instead she turns human and doesn’t even turn us, the topic isn’t brought up again. Even after winning.
@Starwish_Armedwithwi I’m actually adding that path. It became very complicated to implement before the release, and I didn’t want to rush putting in something that would be unsatisfying.
I also didn’t realize how often the FBI ending would get triggered. Even with all of my testing, I didn’t find it really get hit so often. I want to tweak that.
I enjoyed the story, got ending 3, although I think the pacing after Amanda saves the MC was a lot quicker than the preceding parts, especially the epilogue. On a related note, Amanda’s a great character, and I’m surprised she doesn’t show up more. Also I really really really wish we could have more than just a fling with her, cause who doesn’t want to be with a beautiful, graceful, and powerful vampire lady like her?
You can definitely keep the cat alive. I managed to do it by having an athletic MC and also offering Salem a room. I took the option to arm myself before Perry broke in and shot him, and then Salem also came in with a gun and shot him lol. I think if you manage to succeed in the skill checks, the cat will survive.
Also, I haven’t managed to do it yet, but there’s an option in chapter eight to have the thin bloods kill Perry. I’m wondering if that’s a way to deal with him early with no risk to the cat?
I’m sorry if it has already been asked or if it shouldn’t be asked here, but at the start when they make you decide if you want influence or contacts… what’s the difference between the two things(not in the real world, I mean for this game)?
Which characters can you rent to or allow to live with you? I know Jace and Salem can, but Adam also talked about wanting to move out of his parents house, but was afraid to leave his mother behind.
OK, so in the night roads game, you can look at the character portraits at any time, however in this game, you only see them once so I kinda forgot what everyone looked like haha. Is there a way to see them again?
Enjoying the game so far, but dropping in here to report an issue I found just in case no one has reported it yet (also sent an e-mail to support): The choice “I tell Salem that Jace is a vampire. I don’t want to hide anything from her.” currently sets “told_marcus_about_jace true” instead of setting “told_salem_about_jace true” as it should.
From my perspective, contacts seem to mainly be people outside of town from the Player’s past in Chicago, a hacker, a social media manager, a lawyer, etcetera. Influence seems to be more local, town focused things.
