I’ve been excitedly looking forward to this one, but I’m worried about the content warning – it says there is “violence towards animals & children”. Can anyone who has played it let me know how bad it is, is it graphic? I absolutely loved Night Road, but I don’t want get upset
Animal violence spoilers:
There are two instances of violence that are dependent on your choices. At one point in chapter four, there is a dog who can die in the crossfire of a guy’s rampage. With sufficient Dex + Athletics, you can save him. The other instance is in chapter ten, there is a cat that can sacrifice her life to save you, if you don’t kill an intruder fast enough. If you have decent Dex + Combat or Str + Combat, you can avoid this. It also helps to rent out the room to Salem so she can aid you in the fight, and there’s ways to get Lam to help too if you hired him. There is a dog in chapter seven, but the worst that can happen to him is getting trapped in a closet for a little bit.
I’m not sure about the violence towards children. There are two high schoolers who die, but it’s not something described in a ton of detail. There is a prominent middle schooler character, but nothing violent happens to her.
what is the happiest possible ending that one can get?
Is it possible to meet Amanda without faith? I check the txt for this game and it is written “(faith >= 3) or ((m_wits + m_resolve) >= 7)”; I tried to get my wits and resolve up but it seems impossible. The highest I can get to was a total of 6.
Thanks for the game, I loved it.
Just got the ending 8, I’m quite happy with it.
I’m just wandering something, it seems lots of topics are in stand by.
The issue with the bank
The money we have
The experience we earn
The brothers who attack me
The blood with the clinic, etc
Some people have a relation displayed like the brothers, who seem important, but not others.
At the end I find the second part of the game was rushed a bit, when it ended I clearly thought there will be a sequel.
I repeat, I liked it a lot, but I have the feeling of an unfinished game.
Thank you so much Revenais! I appreciate the detailed reply, this is just what I was hoping for. Since it sounds like it can mostly be avoided, and now I know what to expect I think I can give the game a try without too much worrying about the poor innocents
That looks like it might be a problem with Dark Mode. Does the problem still exist when you change back to standard?
Happy to help! I would definitely encourage you to play a character with high dex + combat and you shouldn’t have any problems.
Somewhat related to this conversation, some small chapter 8 spoilers re: Perry:
Even with a high intimidation score, it’s not possible to kill Perry early. The thin-bloods just shrug and say they have their reasons for keeping him alive. So you definitely need to have a decent combat score and maybe some solid weapons to ensure cat-saving.
Yup, I know exactly how to fix that. Thanks!
@Klonoah at the last minute we aged up Tyler Sanders from being a kid to a teen. So, that CW is outdated. I’ll update it.
How do you guys know what generation she is? Was it mentioned in the other game that 13th gens create thinbloods?
And speaking of generations, I wonder how powerful the earlier generations of vampires are? If I remember properly, Reremouse was said to be a 7 or 8th generation vampire, and Lettow feared that his awakening would kill thousands of people.
How powerful do y’all think a 2nd or 3rd generation vampire would be?
Okay, It is Google Play I am mad at, not CoG. (I finally gave up and purchased it again for my tablet. Grr.)
Sorry about everything.
Generations are basically indications of how far removed a vampire is from Caine, the first and original vampire. To give you an idea of how powerful the first generation vampire is without going into too much details, he’s practically a God among men, being incomprehensibly powerful and is a master of all disciplines there is.
The 2nd Generation would be his direct progeny, demigods of incredible beauty and power. The 2nd Gen. vampires sired the thirteen Antediluvians, or the 3rd Gen. vampires. And in turn, these immensely powerful Antediluvians became the progenitors of the original thirteen vampiric clans.
The further removed a vampire is from Caine, the thinner their blood is and the weaker they become.
I’m not sure “immensely powerful” does the Antediluvians justice, tbh. They’re practically forces of nature (literally in Ennoia’s case).
The progenitor of the Ravnos survived the concentrated rays of the sun; magical nukes which did considerable metaphysical damage to the World of Darkness as a whole; and was an even match for three of the most powerful Kuei-Jin in Asia. After wrecking most of the eastern Indian subcontinent.
The Lasombra progenitor almost caused the extinction of life on Earth.
The Tzimizsce (I can never spell it correctly) potentially becomes all life on Earth in one Chronicle ending.
If a 13th gen Cainite embraces someone, there is a 50/50 chance that the childe will be a thinblood. If a 14th gen vampire embraces someone, the childe will definetly be a thinblood. My MC got embraced by Chastain and became a thinblood on my first playthrough but I think there’s the possibility of becoming a Toreador as well. This confirms Chastain is a 13th gen Toreador.
I had the opposite. I became a full-fledged vampire on my first attempt.
From that, I assume she’s a 13th generation. Pretty low on the vampire food chain , I gotta say.
Moreno Duncan expressed interest after amanda left when I turned her down.
Have just completed the game all the way through on Life #1. Got Ending 12. It was indicated that a certain young woman had died, even through she was alive at the end of the climax. Also, Gabriel Jayfield’s fate was not really confirmed. Dead?
Not a bad game - and I will certainly be playing it again and again. But I was expecting it to be harder hitting (more action and deaths). I feel that the pace on the first few chapters was a bit slow - whilst certain aspects (someone else has mentioned the blood banking, upon which I had a suspicion on what was happening) are not addressed by the end (possibly left for investigation on replays)
Was also hoping for a bit more detail on the romance scenes, with the option to fade to black given to readers. This is what happens in ‘Werewolves- Pack Mentality’
Bruh, I feel dumb as hell.
I just googled this shit and it turns out that this game and the one before it are based on a Tabletop RPG made in the 90’s.
I was so confused when you guys started answering my questions and started getting into the lore. I was like “TF are these dudes talking about?”
