so if you get drunk you will soon need another drink ?
In less words, yes, you’re going to need another drink afterwards.
In more words...
Getting drunk is going to be quite the mess. Waking up with no recollection of the previous night, a hunt for answers or fixing any messes you might of way, and reclaiming your dignity. Not to mention the hangover. That might get in the way of “holding court”
If you get drunk you’re in for waking up in a very… weird situation. Careful you don’t earn yourself the title the Drunk. Holding court in chapter two should be entertaining. Some of course might give you pause and make you want to ask for a drink.
Alchohol is not welcome in a kingly environment. I mean so many things can go wrong with a normal drink, one that muddles your thoughts as king? No thanks, I’ll stay away from the Amontillado.
Happy birth month. I’ll sacrifice a peasant for you.
@Dark_Stalker Wise decision. And thank you it was the 19th, a whole peasant
I accept!
Oh, I had almost forgotten! Though chapter two is still a times away next month, the chapter’s main focus is stability and getting the country in order and preparing for war in times of peace. The calm before the storm (chapter three).
A few people are needed for a specific job to help with game development as responders. Unlike alpha testers responders will get a request snippet and give their best response to the situation for the MC to use. (This is for the holding court scenes, coming next chapter.)
Snippet E.g.
A peasant petitions the crown.
“Your Majesty, might I have a lone to purchase today’s groceries?”
Responders would then come up with a response/reaction for that moment. The most suitable one for the given matter will be used in game if the situation is used. Interested? Send me a pm titled petition
Reminder: Petition cluster is full atm, thank you to those who speedily came to answer the call, and those gathering at the chocolate palace doors to still lend aid to the cause. The crisis has been avoided, but fret not, there will be another
“Sure I can give you a small loan of 1000 coins with a low interest rate of 40%”
(This is just a joke…maybe)
I don’t think you’ll be getting that loan back faewk…
Could you loan me a hug? I need a hug!
Everyone knows that day 2 of any regime is when you start identifying enemies to purge. Getting black out drunk must come much later in the scheme of things.
Can we get like a part of the army completely under our command out of those 15 000 like maybe 2000 - 3000 royal guards? And can we do public executions? Chop off the head by our sword?
@poison_mara Of course! Though I’ll collect when you least expect it
@chrisbat The hunt rounding up the rebelious nobles and those attempting to take advantage of the chaos in your absence… will you spare them and show mercy in return for their re-sworn loyalty? Or will you crush them as you will any who turns their back on Imora.
@Got99 [details=Things aren’t made in a feudal system, instead the military directly answers to you, well the commander, who answers to you. Sadly a small private army doesn’t exist, though that doesn’t mean it can’t exist.]The way the military is set up in the world, the army is ultimately under your direct command. Though you have your generals, you also have your paragons who technically command a more maneuverable and private force. And since the paragons answer directly to you…[/details]
Realistically in that scenario the best option traditionally is to make an example of the ringleaders/worst offenders and to forgive the others having set an example. It’s not really an all or nothing question.
By sparing I was assuming though they of course live, they are punished and sent back. Though I do suppose killing the worst offenders and sparing the rest would fit into that.
Against the idea of, rose up once, you’ll do it again. Best to make sure the latter doesn’t happen.
Though on a practical approach, if you were among said nobles, not the ringleader. The instigators were punished and you got off the hook, the same opportunity as before arose again, would you ignore it or would you once more take the chance for ascension?
The only practical solution is the method used by Rome (and Eastern Rome) for 1000 years… take the children and civilize them to your standards - then release them to roam among all the sheep they once called family.
@Arcania it would be so cool if u had like 2000 die hard elite loyalist that would kill and die without question like the unsullied in GOT (just my thoughts)
@Eiwynn For a practical solution that… actually is quite an ingenious stratagem. The families probably won’t be very happy, but hey!
On an irrelevant note, I think I may be starting a poll to decide whether or not slavery will exist in Imora and in the world as a whole.
As for the responders, thank you those who sent out requests. Though your names shall not be named, you shall be remembered as heroes. That said, all slots are filled, thanks for your help
The unsullied… one moment, google and youtube must answer for my ignorance. Oh that does sound fun, epic, and difficult to defeat!
@Got99 I shall create them! Then give them to one of the enemy nations in Imortallia You’ve done us all a great service, thank you!
Any thoughts on a royal academy? Keep the nobles children close by for leverage, but able to control future public opinion en mass. Also make the future of the country militaristic scientific economic…
Everyone likes a good militaristic aristocracy, just like Great Britain
If the MC has children or when the MC gets children they’ll be at court as well. Since the heirs are such a big deal they come in later in the story.
How the MC grooms them is their choice, forcing them to take up the sword whether they like it or not or to their studies… it’ll all be at court.
Edit: It was right on my mind and I forgot to type it; I don’t recommend being the ruler that tries to keep a child away from their partner for whatever reason, especially if said partner happens to be a bit… insane. Vice versa, hell hath no fury like a ruler who can’t see their heir.
Definitely looking forward to this game! Gonna be patiently awaiting for new updates.
I want to allow slavery trade caravans go through my country routes protected and well supplied in exchange a generous fee. However slavery well totally illegal and any selling in my country punished by death sentence by burning in a stake after two weeks o hard torture
