Appearance: In his human vessel, Azal has fair skin, he wears a black leather bodysuit and has black glasses, black gloves, black shoes, and a trench coat. In his “true form”, Azal resembles that of an enormous worm-like creature. He has numerous scythe-like limbs on both sides of his body, and he has no eyes, but he can still see.

Personality: Before coming to reside on earth, Azal’ularan was a name no beings spoke. He is also known as the Devourer of Worlds; consuming countless numbers of species and entire civilizations. Azal was an “impossibly patient” hunter, willing to wait for considerable to catch and kill his prey. Azal was without mercy or remorse, but he was not completely empty of emotion. He was also an extremely intelligent and old being.

On earth, Azal holds no hatred towards humanity, but sees them as nothing more than lesser beings unworthy of his time. Azal has a hellish hatred, and fear for the Hunter as well, as it was the only being he had encountered in his existence that matched, and exceeded his strength.

Abilities: Azal has many of powerful abilities at his disposal, but only in his true form. Those abilities being able to create and use “rifts” to cross into different dimensions. He is also capable of firing a massive beam of energy from his mouth.

I love everything about this! You are such a good storyteller! The beginning did a great job painting the MC as alien and unknowable and (presumably because I chose the “human” interactions) they slowly become more human as the story goes on. The shift seems so natural. I’m so impressed with your writing. Seriously, this is one of my favorite WIPs!

I had my MC flirt with both Jonny and Roach. When Truth or Dare popped up and Jonny asked if the MC and Roach were dating, I picked “No” because that was the truth (flirting is not dating). Roach responds by agreeing and casually says Jonny is free to romantically pursue the MC. This surprised me because Roach seemed very interested up to that point.

Was the Truth or Dare question the game’s way of asking the player to choose between the ROs? I flirted with Roach in the cave and we seemed to pick up right where we left off. That also made me wonder if if was possible to be in a poly relationship.

I didn’t tell roach the hunter name…so how did she know ?

Roach is a free creature and expects MC to be the same. The idea of MC seeing them as more than friends with benefits hasn’t even crossed their mind.

Not yet; some romances will be locked on CH4, others later on.

There’s details I have yet to take care of, but my answer would be a resounding probably.

Spoilers because I’m talking about which RO is into it and who isn’t: Fiama: not in a million years, she’s the sort of woman who would ask ‘who’s this punk ass bitch’ in a room full of people if she sees someone making eyes at MC. Jonny: no. He’s alright with sharing Tamara, but MC is on a different scale all together; the idea of sharing them makes him feel like crap. Roach: completely on board, but you all knew that. Last RO: sure.

Ah nice! I’m also nonbinary and like I said, it also didn’t bothered me as well, but I was more so concerned about other people’s viewpoints. It’s nice seeing a fellow nbcommenting though.

Also I have no problem with choosing your gender later in the game, I do indeed think it is realistic. :slight_smile:

Ooh, ok, so question about Jonny and a poly relationship then: why open to sharing Tamara (and what does that mean exactly? with who, the MC?) but not open to sharing the MC? Or is the answer to that… spoilers???

This is REALLY fun. I’m still playing it, and am currently in the middle of the first free week.

My Newman was more cunning than hasty, yet more hasty than strong in its eternal form. Now? Now she’s a magnetic, cautious, responsive and nonchalant young woman who’s default weapon is her silver tongue.

But, if she likes someone (not even necessarily romantically, since I can’t tell if Johnny’s an RO or not [then again, I DID flirt with him]) and they’re receptive to her flirting or, heck forbdid, flirt BACK?! Golly gee, she goes peach!

She’s been described as “too much of a sweetheart” to genuinely scare someone and “a ray of sunshine”. She raised her casket right, as did her humans. She’s a little more human than Outsider thanks to my meddling.

@No_This_Is_Patrick Tamara is the pale girl you talk to a couple of times if you say yes to hanging out at Hellbender’s. Jonny met her while she was browsing for anything with vampires in it.

@hotmess.exe He’s open to share Tamara because she was already in a relationship when they met—still kind of is. Jonny knew Tamara would never be his alone, but he likes her, so he went along with it. If MC is receptive, his first reaction is shock because to him it makes no sense for MC to find him attractive. Jonny knows he’s awkward, a pain in the ass, and that he isn’t conventionally attractive in the slightest; MC on the other hand is pretty chill/cool, the sort of person who, in his eyes, would never give him the time of day. So why?

If MC keeps showing interest, Jonny starts feeling like maybe it could work, but his self-steem is pretty low so he knows* MC will choose somebody else in the end. He’d rather keep things friendly than opening his heart only to be discarded later on.

Big oofs for Johnny. Especially with my Newman. She’s a very sweet, popular girl but she’s the biggest dork with people she ACTUALLY likes. Johnny and Roach are consistently turning her face into a ripe, flushed peach.

Also? Really liked the spelunking. I’m not much terribly claustrophobic, but small spaces make me a little uneasy so I really felt for the poor, eldritch abomination playing human. I also felt vindicated!

Unlike Johnny and his assumptions as to what someone wants, she knows the Roach is an incorrigible flirt so while they fluster her; she’s still been comfortable enough with them to rely on them a fair bit. To a degree, she trusts them too. So, seeing them hold and comfort a scared Newman mad me feel proud.

Also also, I don’t know if I’m offended by Roach. They have absolutely 0% respect for my character. Oh sweet, mercliess, old ones, they have no respect for my character. SHIT. NEWMAN, DARKLING. ABORT MISSION. ABORT, ABORT, ABORT. Or am I wrong? Or would that be a spoiler? :sweat_smile:

@xXOtakuKonekoXx The spelunking scene just sort of happened. Most of what I write seems to sort of happen, honestly. NPCs will do whatever they want, and Roach decided to run off. I live for little shits acting protective, so yeah.

Ah, the respect stat. It’s mostly there to make people do what you want, so if you aren’t friendly towards them you still have a safety net of sorts. Still not sure if that stat will survive the alpha stage to tell you the truth.

To more or less answer your question; They (the old ones) have a set of rules, so to speak, and escaping a hunt is a big no no.

I just found out about this WIP and I’ve gotta say I’m in love with it. It’s different from most stories out there. I like the internal battle in the MC between settling in their human’s life versus their own otherworldly nature.

Also, loveeee teasing Jonny so much. I can totally imagine a road trip with him and Roach where he would be just mercilessly being teased all the time by us.

If it’s not too spoilery, why Fiama hates Jonny so much? Jonny was the victim of her brother’s bullying, right?

Fiama thinks Jonny is a freak, and she’s too protective of those who she loves (in this case, her big brother). She doesn’t hate him per se, but Jonny can be a little bit too sarcastic for his own good and rub people the wrong way.
