The Clueless Teen's Guide to Living with the Supernatural (WIP)

-Updated to fix some of those pesky name issues and such. Thanks @Smeet.

@MaraJade
No harm done. I don’t much like when otome games go to those extremes either.

I guess I should’ve included the warning that this game is not to be taken too seriously. I’m taking the normal teenage problems (awkwardness, no one listening to you, too many rules, spur of the moment impulsiveness, etc.) and amplifying them to levels about as near to a parody as I’m willing to go.

Again, sorry if I implied that these traits were in any way linked to the PC’s gender. My decision to make the game gender-locked was for a completely different reason.

@Jackrabbit
There’s, um, a lot of interesting issues that come up with that. As I discovered while writing, humans and dogs aren’t interchangeable without some interesting innuendo. For the sake of keeping this rated 12+, I’m not going to go into it so go with whatever you think is appropriate and should go between the spaces.

@Redgrave @DSeg @Vendetta
I didn’t expect this to appeal to more than a small niche crowd, but thank you for boldly giving it a shot and letting me know what you thought. I’m glad this turned out to be more accessible than I planned even with the limited customization.

@MaraJade If the main character was a man, it still would not be offensive. It would be even more entertaining. It is obvious from the start that this is not done in a mean way. And I don’t find the character so stupid.

@CS_Closet When we get home from the fight by the creek, my lip is bleeding. The only problem is I don’t remember Necroay biting me during the fight. I am pretty sure he didn’t even touch me.

When Kiel tells me Seith is an angel, I have a choice to say: “Gate Warrior? Is that like a Gatekeeper?” The phrase “Gate Warrior” is not ever mentioned so this is a little confusing. The first time I see the gate warrior thing mentioned is in the park, when talking to Kiel about everyone.

Those are the only two bugs I managed to find. Note that it’s also possible nothing is wrong and I accidentaly skipped the lines those things are mentioned in.

The funniest thing in the whole game is how everyone ends up in the park.

@CS_Closet My dear, what an active imagination you have! Surly nothing go be suspicious about a teenage girl rubbing a men’s belly! I am appealed you even suggest there are uncharitable interpretations to the honest bond of a mistress and her dog! /huffs indigently

Seriously though, Kett is basically our best friend at the moment, if only because he seems too innocent to try and manipulate us. He’s such a good boy /pats head

Ejem sorry to overeact . Also i always looking the priest thing that seems a vampire there is more text,? Also I would love transform mc in a killer spree like Dexter?

I’m female and I didn’t find it offensive at all… And I never even saw any sexuality, though I kept wanting to flirt with Kiel. Maybe it’s stereotyping teenagers a bit, but the stupidest way my character was acting was right after she fell down the stairs.

I only played a little but it seemed like a gentle parody of those teen urban fantasy stories that are so popular. It was fun and enjoyable.

This is an enjoyable game, so far. It was amusing and dramatic, and even a bit suspenseful at parts, I thought.

One question, though: Will there be any female options? Not a problem if there’s not, just curious.

Massive lurker here just popping by to declare their abrupt, but no less devoted, love for you, your characters, and your writing. I’d like to say something witty and profound here, but really, all I can do at the moment is just spazz over how colorful your characters are and how charmingly playful your writing is. I got soooo many giggles from reading this man, so many giggles. The otome gamer in me was seriously pleased by this game, with all its nods to silly tropes you’d find within plenty of otome games and supernatural romances ahaha. c:

I hope you like fanart man! Granted, it’s mediocre fanart made even worse through crappy camera quality, but still! Fanart! c:

I am in love with this game so far and love that it is predominantly a female character and that there is so much going on but you have yet to see the full picture and have to work through the game to see the truth. I hope I get to be one of the beta and alpha testers on this when it is ready.

It’s a pretty fun read. Does Reese being adopted mean you intend for him to be a potential romance option? It actually makes me feel a little uncomfortable because I have a little sister myself.

@DSeg
Good catch on those. Left out some parts during the rewrites that I’ll try to get done in the next update.

@Jackrabbit
^#(^ Hey, I write things innocently. I claim no responsibility for any derived implications or consequences that may result from derived implications.

@MaraJade
What part are you looking at? The profiles?
And let’s just worry about passing history class for now and work our way up to serial killer from there.

@ArchAngel950
Yes, indeed. Female options are in the plans, though there’s not much real romance in First Edition. In Second Edition, when school starts, the numbers will balance out a bit and dating options will open up.

@Munchlax
Aww, like it? I love it. I had to stop in the middle of a video call to squee! Thank you so much! And what are you talking about “mediocre”? You draw better (and faster) than I do. I’m jealous! :">

@SpiritWolf91
Erm. Welcome to alpha testing! I feel kind of bad for making the PC run around for scraps of information, though. :frowning: Hopefully it’s not too bad.

@hahaha01357
Having Reese as an RO was not in my plans, no. It’s not a pursuit that would have gotten very far anyway. He’s far too a) oblivious and b) dedicated to the big brother role.

Eee, super happy you liked it! c: I’ll take that as a sign that you won’t mind me dropping off more fanart then, ahaha 8D (Tbh, I usually draw only once in a blue moon - there’s something about your game that’s making me feel all artsy now)

Also, in an effort to be of actual help towards the game itself, I’ll see if I can find any continuity/grammatical/formatting/etc. errors and post them up sometime later today. I’d do it now, but maaaaan I really need to get some sleep ahaha.

I like the game! But, and im just asking here, as much as its cool and a nice break from the usual male dominated stories, will there be a choice to choose the gender of the Main character? ( I Personally kinda like Bakenou char …sorry if i spelt it wrong! XD)

@Munchlax
Yay, Cheeseburger! That made my morning. Heck, the entire rest of the day too. :slight_smile:

I’m very much part of the pro-fanart movement. Or fan-poetry, fan-attempt-at-art, fan-comic, fan-used-a-dollmaker-website-art, or whatever else. I encourage anyone with the time to spare. to give the authors of WIPs they enjoy a little warm and fuzzy morale-booster. -Public Service Announcement of the Day *-:slight_smile:

@Xhandas_Antonidas
I can add an option to pick the PC’s gender. I’m not sure how well the tone will fit with a male PC, though. I’m an awful judge of whether something sounds too masculine or feminine (the main reason I took the choice out).

I’m willing to put the choice back in and see how it goes if nothing else. I’m all for being inclusive, even if it’s mostly just a cosmetic change. Provided it doesn’t sound too out of place, of course.

cool game love it can the dog be Romanic choice

@CS_Closet I wouldn’t bother adding an option to be a male; The female PC seems to be doing a good enough job, as is.

I love see a retarded guy protagonist for once, im just tired the otome guys are ultra smart and perfect and girls are stupid clumsy ultra feminine woman obsesed with marry with whatever thing that pass by . A dog has more sense than many actually in app market like one when you are assault in your house and take away for four ninjas saying you are a princess and you has marry one…
Why otome has to be fulled by incest? ransom ? assaults and rape? lol where are the love romance… i only find ok Winterwolf games and some enter dangerously in the frontier of Otome. Could you add more stats? something like intelligence and athletics, and a path where you don’t care any of romantic options and you really want know what happen and achieve a objective beyond White weeding, like enter a good college, athlete …

@Drazen see you don’t want to see a stupid boy unable open doors you than always says you HATE playing as a woman.

@CS_Closet I agree with Drazen.

@MaraJade Calm down. That door was simply jammed.

@MaraJade I hate playing *unrealistic* womyn… And most unrealistic things in general, really. But @CS_Closet seems to have done a fine job crafting this PC, personality-wise and whatnot, so I say stick with it, rather than try to force a male in, where they do not belong.

Edit: Forcing a male in where they don’t belong, being, of course, a violation of Natural Law.
