Does that mean that there’ll be few options to be deliberately socially stunted as opposed to by accident? As in, will we get the chance to paint Gabriel as an abrasive asshole who rarely thinks twice about insulting somebody if they neither respect nor like them? Or just a Gabriel who prefer to stay silent with a bored expression rather than speak?
That’d probably be my Gabriel. She’s not the friendliest of people. Or the most respectful.
@Alexodia
Oh, there will be plenty of times to be abrasive and dismissive. You can play as a Gabriel who just barely tolerates humans at all (for an extreme example) or as one who just doesn’t care what anyone says. And the same goes for a stoic, silent Gabriel. (At least, that is my intention. I’m counting on all you lovely people who play to point out areas where the different personalities don’t seem to be expressed at all).
This is in contrast to angels who have never been around humans and truly don’t comprehend why they do things or understand their limitations or customs.
Speaking of, I take issue with the bit where the demo ends, where Gabriel always gets visibly furious and outraged when the kid is endangered, which felt very much at odds with my stoic Gabriel, who would have kept his cool and saved the kid without making a fuss. Maybe it was intentional but nevertheless I felt a distinct lack of agency there.
I’m still curious about who Daniel’s parents and grandmother are …
And (hopefully) my Gabriel is gonna be the bored psychopath with three sides
1)This
2)This
It’s from Shin Megami Tensei IV : Apocalypse. The game is all about humans who caught up between the forces of God and demons in the blasted city of tokyo (old samurai era one). You can either choose to join Demons to dethrone god (in other word kill him) or Join god’s force to annihilate demons makes humans worshipped him Undoubtedly… Or the Neutral path one… You can kill both sides.
More of a Persona man myself, SMT Strange Journey has been my only foray into SMT proper. However thanks to Atlus, I can’t stop thinking of Lucifer looking like this:
“Humans, born of the God’s madness, belong to me. I have no love for them. But neither will I abandon them. That is freedom.” - Lucifer (SMT Strange Journey)
Blonde man … In the first and second SMT.
Blonde child and old man in SMT 3 : Nocturne.
A blonde woman named Louisa Ferre in Strange Journey… and A school girl who likes samurai In SMT IV. Lucifer did lots of cosplay… lol. and here i give you the new design of Lucifer…
We’ve derailed enough i believe, let’s get back to the topic again.
But, it nice to see others SMT fans here
So the next scene is available for play. Other changes include some text descriptors of relationships in the stat screen. (Adding another ~14k words to the story)
There are a few relationship changes, but by and large I have decided to ignore modifying stats until the story is complete. I feel that this would be best for my development process speed as I would loathe to spend time implementing stat changes and checking balances in a scene that is ultimately cut.
A few questions for all you wonderful people:
For the non-opposing stats/skills, would you like to see a text description as well to give you a better idea of your skill with that area?
How’s the pacing feeling to you? Is there too much or too little exposition for you? Is there enough depth on a single play-through at the moment to formulate an opinion on this?
Are there any choices/actions you feel are missing or misrepresented in their description? (Not so much at this point, but in the future I will be looking for extra feedback on this question pertaining to those people who like building chaotic or more dark Gabriels… because I cannot play evil for the life of me )
In particular for the scene with Daniel, were there any order of questions that did not make sense? This scene got to be a little twisty with the branches and I fear that there may be inconsistencies or just plain nonsensical orders of selections. (Also, please try selecting the questions in different orders if you haven’t and let me know if having the order effect the responses is something you like or something you don’t even notice and consider superfluous.)
@Sneaks
Let me know if with the addition of this latest scene you still feel like your agency is being taken away. To a certain degree, it is, as God manipulated your actions, but hopefully the following choices in the scene let you accurately reflect your opinion about the situation.
This game is absolutely amazing. I am truly shocked by the magnificence of this great creative piece. I was drawn in from the start. Besides the story itself, the change of page color at certain points and the awesome writing immersed me even further. Not only that, but the options themselves are so broadly diversified, that I can see myself replaying this a million times. I was just so into this world, that I was legitimately and honestly stuck at seemingly simple points such as selecting the form of your Angel Blade. Something like that is when you know the game is good. I also appreciated the tactical decisions we got to make. Deciding on the gauntlets and grey wings (my perfect combination), I set out on an adventure that was ended way too soon. I hope to see more of this, and wish you luck in this amazing endeavor. I have no errors to report, as others have already posted the ones I came across, but I shall give it another go. I will try the staff next.
Whoopsies. Thanks for the catch, I appear to have deleted half a line of code (touchpads are not always my friend -_-) should be fixed now. @DreamingGames Thanks for the additional info on the error!
@ShadowForce
I’m glad you’re enjoying it so thoroughly! Glad to see you trying the different combinations too
