Sordwin by Thom Baylay

Thanks. Then I think it should work.

During my first run in Evertree, Dandy left my MC in the end. I am still contemplating if I will recreate this run in order to add some drama for this MC storyline in Sordwin where she met Orion. I haven’t started my re-run yet since I have some backlogs to finish but I’m glad to see Orion in second place which means they have capture some hearts among fans,

Huh? We can’t cheat on Leah? I only get the “I’m with someone already” and the “You’ve misread the situation” options when Winter tries to get into MCs pants at the tavern.

Hello. Good afternoon!
Among the romance options, I think Oriana is the hardest. No matter what i chose, it always ended up in decreasing points. How do you make her like you?

It actually requires a bit subtleties. Basically don’t offend them or be sarcastic to them (that will definitely decrease your point). Agree with them on their opinions on Winter. They hate Winter a lot so agree to that will increase your score. Always pick romantic options when you were asked about your thoughts on them. When you returned from the docks, say you were looking for them and when they froze, tried to wake them up by kissing them. When you were both stuck in hiding, picked the blushing options, that will prompt them questioning you about why you were interested in them. Later when you talked after you discovered the packaged, told them you were glad they were okay. When it was all done and you were back on the boat, asked them to stay longer. Those worked for me.

Orion/Oriana is my fav RO in this series. The slow burn is awesome

Wow! Cool!!! Thanks so much!!!

Another question please. If you get Oriana to kiss you towards the end, will that also mean that she will move in with you, just like Daisy or Leah would?

No, that will be too fast. It’s rather slow burn. I think (read:hope) it’ll progress more in book 3.

I don’t think so. Not all ROs move in with you, and Oriana doesn’t strike me as the type to move in with someone after just one trip together.

Thanks.

Indeed, I did try Oriana as an RO several times using all races and i ended up alone in my apartment.

Can ori fans tell me why they like ori so much? The rudeness really put me off. And since this is a slow burn romance, I didn’t find much to love with the hints at their past. I’m curious to what you guys see in them

Honestly, I was pissed that he just told the Mayor my real name like that. We came to this island to do a job and collect that stupid box yet he’s mad I’m focused on the actual mission that we were sent for and my priority isn’t the island mystery and has the audacity to believe I stole the box.(If I did steal it why would I be working with you to find it!? I would be gone immediately if I did not wasting time pretending to look for it. I really wanted a punch or stab Orion option (preferably stab.)

I’m not sure if I present the majority of the reason why some like him but I really have a soft spot to tsundere type of ROs. From my POV, all the coldness/meanness is a facade and when you get to know them, you’ll eventually know who they are. Or the hope that they have something good somewhere.

If you look in various medias, you see a lot of situation like this: Loki from Thor MCU or majority of leading men in shojo mangas or Korean dramas or some female LI in shounen Mangas and anime.

Perhaps I’m a masochist

When it comes to fictional romance, I like the ones with challenge. While in real life I’d most probably fall for the nice guy, in game or IF, I’d most definitely chase the difficult one just to crack their though interior. It’s part of the fun.

I just like watching my MC squirm because of her crush on the monk. Their interactions because of this is one of the funnier parts of Sordwin for me.

But also: Oriana’s pragmatism. Her speech in chapter 4 about not trusting each other just because you arrived on a boat together? That’s cold. Wanting to kill Jewel because it is the easiest way to get rid of all the lanterns? That’s stone cold.

It’s rare for an LI to be like that (or maybe I haven’t played enough IFs to find them), so consider me intrigued.

I find him mysterious, personally, I’m attracted to men that are hiding something or have a secret. Orion tells you he’s dangerous but doesn’t tell you why, so that’s enough to awake my curiosity and, as a side effect, having a crush on him.

For me it is that I like strong (not necessarily in the physical sense but that can be attractive too as long they don’t look like a female Hulk minus the green skin) women I guess.

And this.

Also she is mystery waiting to be solved.

Whenever the edgy or broody RO says this, I want to ask “oh really ? If that’s true why would you brag about this to a complete stranger wouldn’t it be smarter to act as unassuming as possible?” But no they can’t act incognito they have to be in the spotlight in someway. It kind of ruins the belief that they’re dangerous if they never shut up about how dangerous they’re instead of fighting or showing that they’re dangerous.

I actually agree with Orion/Oriana on this because she or he works for a man that is forcing us to work for him and do his dirty work so we can retrieve something for him. So why would I trust the enforcer of the Lord who is forcing me to do their bidding ? Also I just met you, I’m certainly not going to trust you. It seems like the more sensible thing to do given the situation we’re in to me at least, so I don’t think it’s really a cold blooded thing to say or do but a more sensible thing given our situation.

I’m interested in Orian’s Back story. He strikes me as a character that has learned to not let people in by necessity. He was a slave and perhaps did not become a monk by choice. I also think a monk in service of a god of death might not have the same outlook or aversion to death as you or I.

My impression was he did not say he was dangerous per se, but romantic entanglements with him may be a problem given his life, “employer”, and his employer’s interest in you. In fact you might be dangerous to him.

Also if I’m not misremembering, the elves in this series are a bit shorter than human, so I just imagine Ori as a smol and angry and looks-like-cinnamon-roll-but-probably-can-kill-you type and it’s adorable in some way :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
