So far this is a great read. Intrested to see how the story progresses. I hope there is a rival from the past the MC has to confront.

Yep, the main character will definitely have her/his share of rivals and reoccuring villains. While the MC has an established style that ties into her/his backstory, she/he is also able to use other techniques as well. During some fight sequences you’ll get the option to use stances and so forth borrowed from real kenjutsu.
Don’t worry over the romantic options quite yet. I am well aware of the reader’s “desire to be desired”. Groundwork first, boys and girls!

Sounds great, after all Fatehaven was the game that made me join this page, i’m looking forward to this. I love the progress so far, remind me of Samurai X which by the way is awesome too.

Wow this game is amazing. I literally spent hours playing through it again and again in several different combinations, just so I could read all the text. Also, I noticed some inspiration from Rurouni Kenshin, Moribito, and especially Samurai Champloo (I say especially because my first PC was a Mugen-expy, which you can very easily do by just focusing on all of the red stats). So on a whim I decided to enter Mugen’s name and got a little quote and a bonus to a stat for it. Then I tried a bunch more and got these:
Kenshin - Oro? (+Chivalrous)
Kaoru - My katana isn’t some wooden practice sword! (+Impulsive)
Aoshi - Grandmaster of the Oniwaban-nevermind. (+Calculated)
Saito - The lone wolf himself. (+Finesse)
Shishio - Minus the bandage fetish. (+Brutal)
Balsa - I’m still more a fan of swords than spears. (+Protective)
Mugen - I’ll take all you bitches on! (+Impulsive)
Jin - I wish others tried to moderate their self-importance. (+Calculated)
Fuu - Can you smell the sunflowers? (+Charming)

This feels like a big step up from Fatehaven. I love the character that we’re allowed to make and I love how, while there’s a ton of ways to go about playing the game, it never makes you feel like you screwed up. Just found a different way to tackle the same problem.
If there is one thing I have to call you out on, it’s that a lot of the choices have stat changes that really came out of nowhere. For example,
“The person to be married was a blushing maiden” [You are attracted to women]
“‘You have to eat sometime, kiddo’” [Impulsive increased]
Lots of these just come right the heck out of nowhere. How does the gender of someone I meet decide my sexuality? Why does adding “kiddo” to the end of a statement make me impulsive? The amount of times my stats changed without any possible way of me seeing it is pretty criminal and I think you need to make it more clear what your choices will cause.
Overall, if the rest of the game is like this, I will definitely buy it the moment it comes out. I love the world, the characters, and the choices even if they can tend to be ambiguous. I am really looking forward to this.

Masami, Masashi, Toshie, Toshio - This name cannot be used. It is reserved for another character in the story!
- Why can’t the MC have these names too? Kin gets accepted wihout problem.
- Naming the MC Usagi or Yojimbo gave no message or stat effect. I think you should add them.

Claiming that you were siblings would have been an obvious red flag, since Masa is described to be better dressed than you and his/her body language would denote someone of higher status.
You could have gone with the truth and said charge, but even than the MC is suspicious of the guard and admitting that Masa is someone who is in need of protection would draw attention.
However a young adolescent being seduced by an older man/woman of lower status? totally possible and aside from being gossip worthy, easily over looked.
But if you have a Chivalrous or Stoic personality, you’re not likely to go for that option out of respect or other reasons.

They did mention a potential for unrequited love, which does show up in the demo if you choose the “you’re my concern” option, so it might play into that.
Somthing where Masa ends up comparing him/herself with the LI or feels more threatened by them.
I know right! The worst part is that they aren’t even confirming or denying that there will be a second season and so we just have to wait 
While that is true, you also have to remember that this is a fictional version of historical japan versus real and the author themselves might not feel comfortable with writing such scenes.
Or perhaps its against the guidelines of Choiceofgames as well.
