I think it’s releasing there today. Maybe tomorrow, though.
Or Monday? But sometime very soon.

Awesome. Thank you for the reply.
Thinking of buying this game. I really enjoyed the demo! Wondering how long it took you guys to finish the game?
@choiceofkylen I can’t recall how long it took me. I’d rate it as a medium length choice game though. It’s a solid game, there’s lots of choices that matter and it’s replayable. If you enjoyed the demo you’ll definitely enjoy the full game.
I wonder if there will be a special bug thread for this game? I have several issues.
I liked the game. I really did but some things like others have pointed out could made it better. A choice of which superpower to have at the start of the game. Like freezing ice or fire. You’d only have to change minor details in the story. I wish there was more char development.
Like that girl who was mean to you for no reason. You had an option to “get back at her”, I selected “put a embarrassing picture of her on facebook” it didn’t detail at all how that played out.
I did like the romance options. It’s High School. I felt you could got back at the “cool kids in school” by using your superpower. I also would liked if they added plus and minus better like on mobster or Fate Hevaen. As I said I think it was a solid game. I would liked it if it offered a tad more detail.
The romance option for the bad girl was nice. I would liked more detail about how she looked, her powers, It gave me a good idea it would been nice to see her cast her powers really see that bad side of her.
It’s a good game though
I don’t actually think choosing our power set would have worked in this case. Just like in Heroes Rise, our powers are so very much tied into the plot itself. We’re the only one with the abilities that we have, we’ve actually got more powerful abilities than most, and those abilities allow for us to foil things. I think in just having the one set of abilities it does allow for us to explore them better.
Is Carla the bad girl you’re speaking of? If so there are actually some scenes where she uses her powers for bad. Or well good depending on your point of view.
Personally I prefer it when they’re vague about the appearance of characters, just a mention of a prominent feature or two.
I think the only one I’d have liked lots of specifics on is Taylor/Tyler and that’s because I feel more focus on what they looked like, their oh so perfect features would reinforce the physical nature of our crush.
@Ekaterina Take screen-shots and email them to the choice of games support email address. They’ll get dealt with there.
In Hero Rise. Which I think is a great game. I thought it lacked detail about the people itself. “What they looked like, detail of their costume” and some of the catchphrases. I didn’t agree with, for example when you seduced a certian person. She says “You ain’t ready for this jelly” before they had romantic encounter. I don’t think a girl would really say that. It’s a popular song. But in reality. I don’t imagine a girl saying that while full of lust.
As for Psy High. I agree the powers were tied into the plot… I just would liked an option to decide my own power. I do agree, that wouldn’t worked in this case since the power was tied into the plot.
I don’t agree on point them being vauge about the detail of the person. I admit it leaves something to imagine. It’s much more interesting to me when they detail what she looks like. That way it paints a picture in my mind. Like in Fate Heaven did a really good job in detailing what they looked like. Just my opinion.
Hmm who’s the one that says “You ain’t ready for this jelly?”
I haven’t played Fate Haven.
I’ll admit with Psy-High I’d strong visuals of two of the characters, that being Taylor/Tyler, Carl/Carla and that picture on the Psy-High icon of what I presume is Carl just doesn’t match my own mental image. And you’re right the characters aren’t described easily. I’d to go searching through several scenes before I found out that Andrew/Alison is blond for instance.
Oooh there’s a bigger picture here
Dude. Chill. It’s a short game. And criminals get caught! Jk
I believe it was Black Magic during the final chapter.
I’m just offering suggestions and feedback. Without that, how are they supposed to learn what we like and don’t like. It’s not a game breaker by any stretch. Though just offering advice. Isn’t that what this fourm is for.
Really? That jelly line does seem inappropriate then. (I could have just about seen Prodigal saying it but she was odd).
Suggestions are fantastic. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to discourage you from making them. I thought we were just having a friendly discussion. Your views are certainly valid.
I do think it’d be great to play a game where we get to choose our powers and where those powers have a significant impact. I just know how much of a headache it is to implement that sort of customisation.
I think the main games all have a tendency towards vagueness in people’s descriptions.I’m not sure if that’s a stylistic choice, a result of the existence of gender-swaps which mean it’s just easier to be vague as opposed to writing out two different sets of description for every gender-swapped pc, or just chance.
You’re right. Good character description can aid immersion.
Looking at the above picture, trying to work out who everyone is. I can see Taylor, Carl, Andrew, Haley, (and I presume next to her is her brother), and Colin there but I’m not sure about the other two. And looking over the game again, you’re right there’s not much in the way of descriptions.
(Anyway it’s telling me I’m posting too much on this thread so I suppose I’d better behave and let someone else get a word in edgeways).
That line wasn’t directed at you. It was directed at the poster above me “hapa” who said “Dude chill, it’s a short game” I should have made that clear.
We are having a friendly discussion. You were not discouraging me. It may be difficult on some level. Let’s say for example you had frost powers too. The person writing it would have to write an alternative path that included comments from your companions about your frost ability’s, even maybe re-writing the story line to include your frost powers.
It can be done. Without revealing spoilers. The Robot story has alternative paths depending on what you decide you want your robot to be. It would only take a little extra time to write in the other path. I think it would pay for itself. Once you publish it. It’s there for good.
If someone were to take the extra time to add other parts in. People would take notice. True it might be a slight headache. Think about the replay value. Then you might get a small following of fans. I know some great story’s from certain authors who took the extra time. I can wait to see what they come up with next.
I think that’s what attracts me to a story. That several paths lean towards you. The re-play value would be excellent. An author can make do without it. It would make a story so much interesting if they allowed the options. Have you tried the robot story. I played it twice today.
About that line "You ain’t ready for this Jelly" it doesn’t come off as someone would actually say. I’d imagine the girl wrapping her arms around his body, in a passionate kiss etc. The phrase you ain’t ready for his jelly. I know exactly where that came from, a popular song from Bey ounce.
So i just wonder, what is the use of money in this game?
You can go to the prom in a limo if you have enough money I guess. Not too important. Alison or Carla don’t mind going in your old car, but if you want to impress Alison, it helps.
Oh i see. i never choose other than my old car cause all other answer seem like sharing a car with people i dont know rather owning them if im not mistaken. Thank for info i will try that answer later.
Just because it can be done doesn’t mean it should be. Choice of Robots is the most ambitious of the official choice games in terms of significant choices and replayability and I don’t think it’s fair to compare any of the other games to it. There’s nothing simple about Choice of Robots.
Psy-High’s good. It has a large amount of significant choices and it tells a well structured story. There’s already been a lot of time spent on it, it was just focused on different areas. I’d rather see a new game by the same author as opposed to more time spent on polishing up what’s already a good game.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying every game should be like that. Games like Mobster, and Fate Heaven added the same kinda of details. For example if you did something as a mobster your street smarts, or firearms points went up. It unlocked choices in conversation that wasn’t there unless you had those points up.
Char Development is what I mean. In my humble point of view. If those make a game based on choices. Let it be based on choices. Let it have an impact. The way Fate Heaven had an impact, I would argue went even into more detail then Robot story did. With more options and different outcomes.
I’m just saying what I like in my personal preference. Of course everyone has different tastes. That’s what I like in a story, compelling and choices like Witcher Games or Bioware games. I’m not saying who don’t follow that path are not a good story. I’m just explaining what I personally look for in a story.
Interesting – I’d have said Fatehaven is an example of the “novel-on-rails” style of CoG where your choices barely made a cosmetic impact. Lots of people have already discussed that on the Fatehaven review thread (including in friendly reviews like this one), and perhaps if you want to talk more about why you felt it had even more meaningful character development than CoRobot, we could head over to that thread.
Personally, I think Psy High’s terrific, continuing this year’s string of excellent CoG output that started with Neighbourhood Necromancer (interrupted only by Yeti as a slight dip toward mediocrity – and even that had a core concept fun enough to keep me playing). Most of the recent CoG-label games have been impressively fun or ambitious, sometimes both.
Fate Heaven to me is a long story. I noticed early on in the game. I guess the game has been out long enough I can reveal a spoiler. While your friend is choking that woman who teaches you blood magic. If you don’t pull her off, and you don’t have enough strength. She ends up killing her. That right there your choice has an impact.
I do agree. It might be a slight headache for those to write a story where your path has alternative endings. However it’s not like we are getting the games for free. Isn’t that what part of what we are paying for when we select the 4.99 price tag or lower. It’s not as if they won’t get a reimbursement.
To me a novel on rails would be The Ascot. It’s a very short story with very little detail. It’s more like a puzzle then an interactive novel. It’s the only game. I’m aware that charges you a dollar to replay it early that has a timer stops you from replaying it for a certain amount of time.
No one saying Psy High is not terrific.I’m simply explaining why I like the games that have impacts on your right but also engages the reader into the story with details. I never said it had more meaning character development then co robot.Just an example like Mobster. Where you had several choices with different outcomes.
