Paradox Factor

i dont remember well but the newspaper have some adds you could see. Also you need gun club membership too

What aspect of the kidnapping are you on? You need to do it bit by bit. I think it’s start with getting a gun. You discover you aren’t fit at your wedding when your wedding suit/dress is a bit snug. That’s when you can resolve to get fitter. Then check either the newspaper or the college activites (I can’t remember which) for the class. Or take up running, I think. I can’t remember.

Yep, did it. Must have never checked the wedding. Thanks guys!

Wow. I’ve reached the end, I’ve killed all my friends, my wife, and my children, all so I can kill myself. The only thing I’ve accomplished is Professor Deakin.

There has to be a better way to do this… I’m not going to end it like that!

Edit: or is there no actual ending? I just get all available options and stop playing. If that is the case, I’m going with bobsmyuncle’s ‘Batman’ ending. Seems the most beneficial to everyone. Not going to risk suicide; it will make a paradox.

Though that might be the best outcome.

This is a very difficult game… It’s awesome!

there are better endings, and a ending with paradox factor but there are tons , but no a real happy poneys and rain bowns ending

All of the endings are depressing. There’s four different endings, none of them are happy.

Yay no happy endings! Oh wait thats a bit sad

A Hollywood ending would have been cheating. It would have destroyed the entire message of the game. It would have been as if they’d stuck a happy ending on the Butterfly Effect, or Donnie Darko, or had the guy in The Time Machine, save his girlfriend.

Ok, it shames me to rely on the help of others so much, but how do I accept my choices? It says, at age 45 outside an apartment, that you can cause a paradox or accept. I know how to cause a paradox, but not how to find the option to accept.

It has crossed my mind that ‘accept’ might be some meta game option of simply stopping the game, but I think I read somewhere that is not the case.

No, don’t think it’s a meta option. I can’t remember how to just accept things though.

Hey Lucid.

Just wanted to say congratulations on a smart little puzzle game with a neat spin on time travel. Nice work.

Thanks! It was fun to make.

@Lucid

Do all four endings have the message “Ending unlocked” or is that just the “Paradox Factor” ending. I’ve seen people mention certain scenes as endings but they didn’t get the play again button like the PF ending.

The endings actually end the game. When you’ve reached the opportunity for an ending, go to a time machine ending and choose to not use it.

Woo! I did it! Thanks bro.

Having been playing through the game, I have to ask…why isn’t there some “accept this outcome” option somewhere in the game? I get to a point where things have turned out…not great, but at least passably (maybe my marriage is a mess, but at least nobody major in my life is dead, I still have the company, resolved the kidnapping, and so on). Basically…there are points where walking away in-game would make more sense than insisting on tampering further…but there’s no way to get a dénouement of any sort without making decisions that I /really/ don’t see myself making (killing off my friends so I can kill myself, for example.

Basically…I don’t get why there isn’t some way to, at various points, click “accept this ending and keep on living” rather than feeling forced into this-decision-or-that. Life isn’t perfect and it might not turn out exactly how you’d like it, but at some point of getting to loop through your life you’d probably take a deep breath and move on with what you have.

(Just to be clear, I never got the “accept the divorce” option in my playthroughs so far)

There is such an option, Gray, in fact that’s the original ending, I’m the one who suggested there ought to be multiple endings.

But if memory serves you have to decide to go back to the time machine and then decide to not use it or something, I don’t remember the specifics.

Yup, that’s it. The original was to create a paradox so the time travel never even occured. But, if you have the presence of mind to do such a thing, you can also make changes and walk away… keeping the alterations.

i just got the game/book the other day for my kindle but i cannot proceed after the intro on the roof…i keep getting lead back to the 1st page where you have the 6 original choices…age 18, age 20, age 30, age 35 (train) age 35 (funeral) that is where i keep ending up!? so can anyone help? tyvm

Be sure to board the train and go to work. New things will appear. Once you start time traveling, old scenes occur differently. Enjoy!
