Thanks for the tip! So who should I use to perform the diabelrie: my Assamite warrior or my Caitiff posing as a Ventrue…
Would love to play as one of those clans. if i may suggest instead of stercorious as nosferatu sire what about dove instead ?, what about adding thin blood or malkavian ?
Does anyone have a list for the new content/fixes in the latest patch?
Has to be a tie between my Tremere compelling her to jump off the roof and my very non-action Toreador having enough Protean to bring out the claws to protect their love. Though I do like MC rallying Lettow/Julian to end things too.
I’m slightly disappointed that there’s no cool blood sorcery way to end them though…
Also speaking of Toreadors, them + low points in COM and RES = nightmare difficultly mode wow. I ended up remaking them to have tons of points in those two because I was sick of flubbing all the checks.
Man…I don’t know…
I’ll take a crack, keep in mind I’m a casual fan and haven’t played IRL since the 90s.
- The body of a vampire is dead and stays the way it is when turned. I would say the baby would die since the mother is dead, but her body would stay the way it is. It would be up to the ST/player if the baby like…calcifies and stays there or is stillborn but it would be bad either way. edit: how about to give birth are we talking? I guess if the baby could survive on its own, maybe it would be born and be fine, maybe a dhampir? Those are usually the product of thin bloods. It’s very up to ST discretion, I think.
double edit: ok, I looked it up on the wiki and a pregnant woman who gets embraced immediately has a miscarriage. I would say, personally, that if the fetus was developed enough to survive, it would. It might need preemie care but it would be human. - Grats, he’s a 90 year old man forever. I mean, he could still be vampire strong depending on his clan and so on, but he’ll look 90.
- I would say yes, but it would go wight. It would be nothing but beast since there is no real personality there to fight it. The vamp that did it would probably get a smackdown, cause I don’t see any Cam prince approving such an embrace, it’s just a Masquerade violation waiting to happen.
1: Miscarriage. You know how a newly embraced vampire must purge his or her now undead body of all waste (undigested food, feces)? Same logic.
If the baby was juuuuuust about to be born, maybe they could perform a c-section to save it, I suppose.
2: He would no longer be infirm of body because vampires don’t use their muscles to perform their feats of amazing strength or speed or resilience, they use the Blood. But he would still look like a 90 year old man.
3: Yes, but the baby immediately becomes a Wight because it doesn’t really have a conscience strong enough to fight the Beast. The only reason someone would Embrace a newborn would be for Diablerie, they’re called “babies on sticks”. Yes, this is a thing in the lore.
We have another patch ready to go. However, we’re going to hold it until tomorrow until folks have a chance to finish their current playthroughs and not get reset.
So, be prepared for a patch tomorrow!
This was a fun one! I am left with questions, though…did anyone figure out what exactly Convictions (the statement ones from the dreams, not the ones with pips) are supposed to do? I got three of them and they were presented in a way that made them seem important, but I didn’t seem to notice them having any impact on gameplay at all. Maybe this is because I had almost no dots in the various pip convictions, though, I don’t know. (I ended the game with 1 dot in Protect the Weak, 3 dots in Respect the Traditions, and no dots in any of the other ones)
Figured I’d link it here, but I just started a guide for the Amaranth (diablerie) achievement if anyone wants it.
It’s only up to the hospital so far but I plan to put in some more work on it.
Dream convictions affect your XP and willpower. If you pick one that you have pips in (e.g the conviction that has you vowing to follow the traditions when you have pips in Respect the Traditions) then you get some spent willpower back and increased levels of XP.
You get the boosts if you have one at least one pip, so don’t worry about trying to max them out.
so I just performed a diabelrie with my Caitiff and the only thing that happened is that my generation was lowered, it didnt improve my stats. Is it normal or a bug?
That’s normal. That means the diablerie worked.
(The guide is now complete btw. If you follow every step you’ll have the required convictions in the 80s, which is more than enough).
So, I accepted D’Espine’s knowledge as a reward, but it’s not showing up in my blood power training. I already took skill rewards from Caul and Elin, is this a bug or is there a limit?
Also, I kissed my ghoul after I took her on a date, but now she’s not showing up in the Tucson screen?
I did something weird and made my ex-army character into Clan Toreador. It feels out of place because Toreadors are artists and socialites, while my character doesn’t have a silver tongue and is only good at bashing people’s heads in and shooting someone. I guess his martial talents can be considered aesthetic?
Patch Notes!
- Miscellaneous typos and dubious grammar fixed
- Bungalow and two-bedroom apartment now appear as haven options
- Fixed increase-Auspex bug in 2100 Formula section of the last chapter
- Removed “disappearing Raul passenger” bug at Camp Scheffler
- Moved Invidia Caul’s art so it corresponds with what she’s wearing in the text
- Fixed “invalid return” Viper crash bug
- Moved Humanity/Hunger/Masquerade up to the top of the character sheet
- Added some text to explain why your ghoul “disappears” from the Tucson selection screen after you go on enough missions (or dates) with them
Can anyone tell me if they were able to romance Raul after the patch?
How do you get the other ghouls besides elena
You can only have one ghoul, so if you want the others, don’t ghoul Elena first off. For Raul, you have let him go in the opening scene at the abandoned gas station. Then when you get to the internment camp, help free the immigrants, and search for him. He will show up later in Tuscon. Same with Vani at the research facility. Make sure she gets out and charm her somehow, then she will show up in Tuscon, but you can only have one ghoul per playthrough. I think most people keep forgetting that. Otherwise it is not that hard to get them.
