Out now! "Vampire: The Masquerade — Night Road": Spoilers Inside Thread

On topic, please. I recognize that this game has some storylines touching upon real-life politics, but please let us reserve this thread for deep dives into the game itself–use the politics thread for the rest. For example, this would not be an appropriate place to post links to external political sites.

Hmmm…if I’d rate any politician high as a vampire puppet it would be Senator Harris. I mean she was off to a dubious start and she has always been beholden to the interests of a couple of San Francisco’s wealthiest families above all. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

the Camarilla in game seem to be benefiting quite a bit from the increasing dehumanization and abusive treatment of Central/South American immigrants

To me that whole operation reeks more of desperation than the careful planning you’d expect from vampires and in fact that whole operation is a literal mess too, which is what makes it vulnerable to being dismantled and then “franchised” by a two bit, if super cute, anarch punk and his no-name courier assistant.

The execution is messy but the idea is sound (albeit sociopathic): thousands of blood bags far from home with no paper trail? That’s a goddamn vampire buffet!

Vampires in WoD, for all their posturing are just opportunistic ticks on the ass of humanity who feed on misery and as brutally sad as it is, I think this plot point illustrates that perfectly.

For me I prefer the strategic combatant who combines tactics and brute force to deal with an enemy. My first playthrough was an ex-Marine Assamite who served as Julian Sim’s bodyguard/enforcer.

Hey, I was wondering how a 9th Generation Mc would stack against Julian/Lettow in a fight, or with disciplines?

Since if we play as an Assamite, the Mc’s sire is Julian, and the Mc’s Generation is 12 (which is lowered by Aila), which means Julian is an 11th gen vampire, and the Mc can technically reduce their generation to the 9th.

Lettow though, is from a lower generation, but I’m not sure.

Fair enough and certainly valid, I think that in the hunter game, I’d rather be the number cruncher and maybe influencer who runs their hunter organisation from behind a desk, rather than an actual soldier/field agent. Or else the lobbyist who counters vampire influence and lobbying on behalf of the hunters.

Though I doubt either of those two will be viable for most hunter games, as I recognise combat and field operations would be a draw to the majority of players there.
So at best I think my future mc might at best hope to be able to graduate into one of those “support” or strategic leadership roles in the epilogue.

My PC, Luka, was the classical Ventrue to the very core, deeply loyal to the Camarilla and excelling most in social attributes and skills, with mental ones on par or at least very close. While he had absolutely no ability for actual fights, he could always think or talk his way out of such situations, as expected of a Ventrue.

In the absence of situations where Luka could not don the nice suit that he bought, he remained true to the Ventrue aesthetic by settling for business casual. After all, as the Ventrue would say, one must dress to stand out, not stick out. As expected, Luka bought the penthouse apartment immediately. Nothing but the best for the Clan of Kings. He also chose the 2008 Mercedes, a car of excellent taste fit for a king. As for his wolf famulus, he bestowed upon the wolf the name of Augustus, a regal and fitting name for a majestic wolf that is companion to a scion of Clan Ventrue.

It always is a difficult decision for Luka about where to go next at the end. His relationship with the Camarilla is excellent, unsurprisingly, so there is a place for him with the Tuscon Camarilla group. On the other hand, he has quite enough capital to go to Seattle and integrate himself into the blood trade there. It is an opportunity to establish himself and potentially rise very high indeed, perhaps in a way that might not be possible in Arizona. Luka reasons that he could integrate himself into Prince Cross’ court. There is no reason that he could not do so with the Tuscon Camarilla’s support. Still, being entrusted with the important task of helping the Camarilla’s Arizona branch rebuild could certainly allow Luka to advance tremendously. Either way, there is an opportunity to rise through the ranks and be of considerable service in helping the Camarilla rebuild.

Sorry if I ask this late but in order to perform that ‘act’. Do you need maxed out convictions for Defy and Perpetuate? Or is two just enough?

Question for @Moochava: does the diesel Mercedes that keeps popping up in the background of driving scenes belong to someone in particular?

To be able to fight him, and thus be able to kill, him at all you need to side with the SI for him to get pissed enough to come at you - Otherwise he just goes whatever and leaves.

I managed to trigger the Julian fight but not the Lettow fight by choosing money as the reason I sided with the SI. Couldn’t get to kill him because there’s a willpower check involved and I my will was spent rip

Also I can’t believe people managed to get over 80K in assets by the end of the game? My (in retrospect rather terrible) Ventrue thought he was on top of the world coming away with just over 40K oof. Guess I needed to suck up to people more for those sweet bonus payments.

Here is a possible hint:

You can charge $12,000.00 for each delivery in the second round of deliveries if you demand it.

The only thing is, since the super cars are limited at end-game, there really is no reason to stockpile cash, unless:

you want the epilogue where you go set yourself up somewhere else and use your cash as seed money.

Yeah I have then after running through the rest of the options I can’t talk to her again

So i think the new patch did something weird, i was a gangrel and when julian popped up and talked abt mc’s and his nights in the desert there’s a dialogue about him being your sire? Tried it out a few more times and the dialogues still imply hin as your sire even when you play as the other clans

That sounds like the sort of bug you’ll want to forward to support AT choiceofgames DOT com.
