What’s a “variable-order scene”?
Imagine that, instead of visiting the gas station in chapter five, the apiary in chapter six, and the tin mines in chapter seven, in a linear chapter order, you have the opportunity to visit them in any order you like, (and the order in which you visit them may have ramifications).
Sounds complicated to write, really appreciate the extra effort in giving us much agency as possible
