Norif Chronicles: Vol 1 daughter of Aine

Spelling error: “My soul perpouse is to help you setup a player sheet for the game.”

Should be: My sole purpose is to help you setup a player sheet for the game.

Error: “Thank you Master. At any time you may slap me for your pleasure. While I am your obedaint servent not all the race will view with the same awe as I do.”

Should be: Thank you, Master. At any time you may slap me for your pleasure. While I am your obedient servant, not all the race will view with the same awe as I do.

Error: “Your worthless, I need to add more to my Attributes”

Should be: You’re worthless, I need to add more to my Attributes

And also I got pc_flaws line 92: bad label pc_skills

The stat selection seems much more balanced. Now my MC has weak categories (always fun) even aside from the flaws.

@CaballeroDeAndromeda
Thank you for the awesome spots have updated with the changes. Not sure about the bug, have done a lot of coding since then. If it pops up again let me know.

@Fiogan
Thank you, working to keep the player balanced. Taking on flaws will have a bit of cost but you will be reward in other ways. :slight_smile:

Have added three new flaws.
Bigmouth
Bigot
Blunt
Once I have finished the flaws page I will try to tackle @CJW save system. Last time it did not go well, I am not a programmer. :stuck_out_tongue: Need to get it done as the player setup is turning into a very large file, 5871 word count so far, and I would hate to have you all constantly restarting.

Discovered a flaw in the Flaws lol. It is possible to decrease your stats below zero. So have to add new code for to check against that. Should be in the next update.

@Lordirish You’re welcome!

Going quickly through the game I found: pc_flaws line 61: bad label pc_skills

I’ll check for spelling errors later on and let you know if I find any. B-)

@CaballeroDeAndromeda

I found it and fixed it. Will show up in the next update. I am great full for any misspelling spots.

I’m intrigue by this :-? I will try to put more of my review after playing it. Cheers. :stuck_out_tongue:

@Aera
Thanks, This project has had many many restarts and changes, 2 years+ lol. Now I have a solid grip on it and love the direction it is going in. So while the writing bug is burning steaming full forward. Looks like the contest did me some good as well. :slight_smile:

This will be the last update until this weekend
Fixed bug and add check system.
Added 3 new flaws
Callous
Childish
Cursed
I am also adding my word count more for me to track then anything else, 6290. :slight_smile:

I don’t want to slap Aciza. I want Aciza to bow down before me! >:) And probably have the option to kick Aciza. lols. :stuck_out_tongue:

The map of Noris is nice. Quick question. At the bottom of the map is that a fish? Or a merman or something? Sorry it’s blurry on my tablet. /:slight_smile:

Some errors:
choicescript_stats line 157: Non-existent variable 'spellcharge’
choicescript_stats line 541: Non-existent variable 'a1st_wave’
choicescript_stats line 157: Non-existent variable 'spellcharge’

If you choose Anxious.
pc_flaws line 283: increasing indent not allowed, expected 0 was 1

@Aera
I do plan on going back and adding more ways of hurting him. lol I like the bowing option.

Thank you, it took me countless hours to get the map right. It is just a merperson. Only thing I did not draw myself.

Thanks for the bug finds. looks like some left over code. Will fix next update.

When I click the cursed flaw, there is only the option to add it, but there is no option to ignore it. Is this a bug or done purposefully? If it’s done purposefully, I’m okay with it. I’m just bringing it to your attention in case it’s a bug after all.

Anyways, when I get cursed, I get this: pc_flaws line 303: Non-existent variable ‘r_carsed’

Looks like a typo did it.

@DSeg Sorry that is a bug and a typo. Will fix next update thanks.

@Fiogan
As not to derail @Matter7 thread. You have me thinking on magic systems. I am not overly thrilled with mine so trying a fresh approach. Perhaps if you would be so kind as to further share your thoughts I might be able to build something better.

Oh dear, an open ended invitation? Those are dangerous… I suppose what I had in mind was coming up with a style of magic that wasn’t a box-check from Tolkien, D. W. Jones, et al. (Anime seems to be particularly good at this sometimes). The possibilities are endless; although I imagine many have been covered, modern English-speaking fantasy is a relatively recent trend, a different thing than the fantasy of, say, H. C. Anderson or even E. Spencer. All that blathering to say - there’s lots of room for improvisation!

I had in mind a magical system that is original in background but not necessarily complex in codification. The chalk on pavement example was silly, but just sort of one example. Others could be a world in which all technology is powered by magical forces (not what you seek, though, I fancy), or a world in which alchemy has gone mad and chocolate plus milk makes silk pillows when combined in just the right way, or a world in which powdered fairy is the only way to cast spells so magic is highly illegal and rather expensive… etc. etc. It could then be implemented however the writer pleased in the code, whether like any normal skill (you score >50 in viciousness! powder up another fairy and get to work, +5 vicious +10 magic) or with a roll or whatever other system would work for any skill, whether fighting or magic or silver tongue.

I did love how @Samuel_H_Young sorted magic use as inventory, skills, and other variables. Then, WayWalkers and Life of a Wizard handle magic completely differently as well.

Is that helpful at all? I’m curious about what sort of magic system you had in mind for your game. (:

@Fiogan
I truely love the fairy idea! I will have to tinker around a bit as far as strength of magic, maybe the type of fairy. Fairy magic has no offensive power such as fireballs. Need to figure how to trap a fairy and use thier magic. Poor Wanda and Cosmo. :stuck_out_tongue:

@Fiogan
Thank you by the way. :smiley:

Thoughts on Fairies for the game.

Nitesci Fae
By far the hardest to encounter. Their magic is by far the strongest.

Terra Fae
Comnon fairy with some magic.

Penipu Fae
They live to play pranks and using their magic is best left to the foolish.

To bind a Fae’s magic requires an evil act, forceably tearing their wings off. This is illegal but buying a wingless Fae is questionably ok. Expect to pay a high price.

Any thoughts?

What kind of common magic for the Terra Fae?

So this Fae are the magical little sprites and not the Fae term used to describe Elves.

I’m just curious since unnatural used the “Fae” as Elves, but Faerie or Fae is a broad term used to describe any magical being of Celtic (mostly British Irish Scottish and Welsh) from goblin to leprechaun. However Elves are from the Teutonic (German) folklores. :stuck_out_tongue:

@Aera
I still need to work out more detail to the general magic.

Fae is in sprites. Elves are much different here, broodish, war like, think Apache Indianas back in US history. They keep mostly to themselves in the Mountains. Few go there, even fewer come back. I am weary of the delicate Elf. They are in balance with nature, but have no problem tearing your heart out should you decide to offend them. They are easily offended.

Still working on a lot of detail. Thoughts are always welcome.

I see sprites like thinker bell :stuck_out_tongue:

Instead of binding them can you make a deal with them? like a temporary deal to use them in-exchange of something important from you like memories, life span, ability, etc.

If the Fae becomes wingless. Does that mean they will obey you or they can betray you in a different way? I think if they are the Penipu Fae they will find a way to annoy you to death >:)
