My apologies for the radio silence everyone. It’s been a bit rough at my end since towards the end of year in particular and I didn’t realise how much time had passed. Hopefully I can get this back into action and get an update out in the next month or two.

I don’t mean to be rude since it’s another story and believe me when I say I’m happy whenever I get to read one of your stories, so I’m excited for this one as well, but do you think you’ll pick up Abysm’s Veil again eventually?
No pressure, it’s just one of my favourite wips. I’m fine with waiting for it and reading other stuff you’ll write. I was just wondering if it was still on hiatus.

You’re not rude at all. I feel really bad about that one in particular and I’m really sorry to everyone who has waited so long for an ending to it. I have a few incomplete WIPs I was starting to get some serious progress working through getting finished up last year when life intervened and kind of knocked me around for a while. It’s not abandoned, but I don’t have an ETA on exactly when it’ll be finished sorry as I’m back on having very little free time (something I’m trying to change and get writing time set aside each week again so I’ll keep you posted). This one’s a relatively short one and I should be able to get it done relatively easily. I actually was writing it for IFComp last year but didn’t quite get it done in time. It was “kinda finished” but I ended up having some really stellar suggestions from testers so it needs some of the endings reworked/added to make it feel more satisfying. But it is a “quicker” project for me to finish up. Abysm’s veil is going to be a longer term one. (For me at least). But along with sea maiden they’re actually my favs so I do want to get them written.

Don’t feel too sorry, life happens and I’m very well placed to know that it’s tough to have the time for your own projects. I’m just glad the WIP isn’t abandoned and will eventually be finished (one day!). It’s much better to take the time to polish it than to rush it to satisfy impatient fans.

As a long time fan who was here when the WIP first came out, I just also want to say that there’s no pressure at all, you’ve already done a great service for writing what’s already there honestly.
And it’s not like my life needs it to be complete, so there really isn’t anything I’m losing while waiting, but it does speak to the writing and the setup, that I still remember it amongst all the other WIPs, it lives rent free in my head I swear.

I came across Nereid recently while looking for mermaid themed IFs and I desperately wanted the opportunity to tell you how much I enjoyed it. Very excited to hear from you again and see that you intend to continue the project

Thanks so much everyone for the encouragement! I’m sorry about my slow output, I keep having high pressures put on my time every time I try to clear my schedule a bit at the moment (I don’t think I’ve had a true day off in over a month at this stage.) I’m still working on it! Hopefully will have some updates out within the next few weeks
