Hi Everyone! Sorry I haven’t forgotten anyone, the private beta hasn’t started yet. I know I said it’d be up over the next week, but I added a scene for choice for where to go because I felt the game needed it, and then have been really busy since and unable to get the last things done for it. Hopefully I should manage to wrangle a bit of spare time to finish doing a few bug squishes and typo fixes next week. Thanks for sticking with me

Great start so far, I can finally scratch the mermaid x human itch since Abysm’s Veil, can’t wait for the update!

Maybe this is too spoiler but, would there be an option for us to end with the human, but also keep our fishy tail?

Hmm that is a really big potential spoiler. I wasn’t sure whether to answer, but decided I’ll answer it, but put it under a big old spoiler tag.

Sorry the update is coming, my life has just been stupid busy for the last couple of weeks again , but it shouldn’t be much more of a wait

Warning! Ending spoilers below! Unless you're super curious, I'd recommend waiting for the update :)

Ok so, given what it takes to shift someone one way or the other between species (like it seems to be some pretty nasty requirements/consequences required by the magic), and the short time frame over which the game plays out, plus the pretty hostile feelings of most of the merfolk about humans/merfolk associating with humans, I don’t currently have a way for you to go back to being a mermaid and still be able to stay with your saved human.

Over a much longer game (like abysm’s veil) you’ve got much more scope to gradually set things up and let them play out. It’s just this one is designed to be fairly fast moving and shorter, the main part of the game playing out over only 3 days.

I’ll let you guys see where the story goes/possible ending and let me know what you think. Happy for feedback on them once you have seen how they look .

Hi everyone. Thank you for bearing with me, it’s been a busy month. I’ve moved this project to private testing for now and have gone through the thread for anyone who indicated they’d like to stay with this project if it was moved to private.

I love this. I’m a big Mermaid fan, and it’s criminally under-explored in IFs.

The heart yearns to be a mermaid, but I don’t wanna kill my poor, sweet human. Decisions, decisions.

-At the beginning at the sea the human was in MCs arms. I was wondering why the human didn’t try to find hold / cling to the MC? Are the scales slippery?

-The way the human was dragged to the surface didn’t trigger any specific text. Is this correct? The choice felt a bit pointless.

-he responds almost regretfully.. → Just one dot.

-The “Nod” option is missing a dot.

Hi everyone. I’ve been getting some absolutely brilliant feedback on the private threads/discord with quite a bit of typo/bug squishing I need to address and some work done to the endings.

I’m going to temporarily close adding new testers to the private threads to give me a chance to work on this and fix all the bits and pieces that need doing

If you already asked to be added (or liked the post above) and I accidentally missed you, please let me know though and I’ll add you. Otherwise I will reopen for new testers if there’s anyone else who would like to play the game once I’ve gotten some work done to it.

Hi @Zerodaj. For sure, the test isn’t permanently closed, I just put it on hold to do some more work to the game. I’m actually still working on the update as it needs a whole lot of bug/typo squishing and the endings reworked. If you’re really keen I’m happy to give you the link now, otherwise I can let you know when I have the update finished and you can see the edited game

Hey I don’t know if this email will find you but I’ll try anyway. I’m going for the email option because I think the screenshots might help better than texting it in the thread.

Most of the errors I found I wasn’t sure someone told you already but I included them anyway.

I just finished the story and I absolutely LOVE IT. I chose the stay a Merman option, that I was homesick (seasick), she figured it out, and willingly let me unalive her. Ooh, loved it, next time gonna try for the Siren ending, though not sure I know how.

I loved the Old John character and the prospect that I could’ve been found out part too. I loved a lot of it.

Let me know if I need to include the errors in the thread instead.
