On day 4, wrote a little handful of words in the outline/planning document… My computer stopped working properly yesterday so I’m not able to do much until I can figure it out. 'Til then, I’ll just have to do what I can on my phone. (Basically I just can’t write in the actual game files, and can’t type faster/more easily with my proper keyboard.)
Your forum contributions are always great. I’m cheering for you!

really had to force myself to write today. was just having block after block with how i wanted to write the prose so i just plowed through and wrote what came to mind. cant say im proud of it but right now i just want something down.
I’m really proud of my work today. I wrote more than double my daily goal of 1050 words. I also made some forum posts and answered an ask on my Tumblr. All of that accomplished while dealing with the plumbing fixing our shower! I’m going to reward myself with some chocolate.
Managed to get a little writing done this evening! Decided to start cleaning and restructuring my project from the Jam, since I don’t feel satisfied with leaving it half done.
Day 6
Today’s progress: 2,000 words
Total progress: 15,000 words
It was a bit of a slog today, but I came to the end of the scene I was working on. I now have to write a variation of that scene with another character present, so at least I have an idea of the order things go in, and so on. Hopefully it won’t end up being too repetitive as a code thing, but it would be hard to just insert the other character with *if blocks, because they change the dynamics in a pretty fundamental way.

same as last time. putting up finishing touches, still not satisfied with prose but content that theres something written down. feel like steam will pick up a lot more when im done with this chapter, but now ive reached the part with the most variables and branching.
Really wanted to get more done today, but I just can’t concentrate too well and I keep deleting this scene to start over. Pleased enough with what I did keep, I guess, but I think maybe I need to spend more time considering how many different branches this part should have.
Sometimes we all have those days. I wrote and deleted the beginning of the scene I am working on 6 times today, before “sticking it” and being okay with what I wrote.
didn’t outline. again. lol. but i wrote a lot, so I guess it’s okay. my outline really needs more detailing bc it’s super rough at the moment and I was a bit stuck bc of it bc I didn’t really know what to write when I got to chapter 4.
so instead of outlining, I decided to skip to chapter 8 and 13 where I know what’s happening. never thought I would be doing this, I’m usually very organized when it comes to writing, so writing chapters out of order is crazy to me, but it did help me out so maybe I’ll keep doing this.
Day 7
Today’s progress: 2,000 words
Total progress: 17,000 words
I’ve started on the second variant of the scene. So far, there are enough differences that I’m feeling pretty all right about writing the versions separately, but part of me still does wonder if I couldn’t make the more efficient version work. But I think it’s worth a little repetitiveness to be easier to edit, so I’ll stick with this for now.
Also trying to prepare the house for a visit by relatives so… a fair bit of work to do with the rest of my day.
My computer’s still not working, but I was reminded that I have a laptop, so even though it’s slow and my Google Docs are, for some reason, very wonky on it, I decided to use my laptop and tidy up my main project’s planning/outline document. Part of that was moving some dialogue out of that document, and into a separate document where I write when I’m out and about on my phone, or just put stray, unorganized puzzle pieces of the story, and while I was there, I unexpectedly ended up writing 115 words of a conversation with an NPC. So that’s nice.
Speaking of which, today I’ve written roughly a dozen words. Which was two phrases! (In a dialogue. Two phrases of two characters arguing.)
Which, incidentally, was the first time I’ve written something I can count as writing this month. And it was for a project I’m not even currently trying to work on.
Haha, yeah, I have that problem too. Fully committed to cleaning up my game from the jam and actually finishing a couple of routes this month … Then I woke up this morning with a fun bit of code and gameplay mechanics for a completely different project popping into my head.
Really wish I could focus easier on one project at a time.
You have ended a project for the jam , a entire game in deadline. This is an objective proof that you can. It is question of mark your own goals. But you can end successful games
