Monsters of New Haven High - last update 4/02

A bit late in the running here I know, but if I can still throw my vote in for the Kitsune to be added I’d appreciate it. Sorry just a huge fan of all things Japanese mythology in general.

I think i was a werewolf if it helps
Shoulda gone for the laser gun

That would be Mizore Shirayuki and yes, she was the best.

Yes she was the best, and the reason I want an ice woman romance option.

Hah. Pretty cool. Just got that

Made a werewolf named Scott McCall. My life is complete.

Gonna make him date the female hunter… this is too much for me.

Just hope her family isn’t as bad as (or worse than) the Argents.

Also (sorry for asking so many questions before you reply) are you able to start off friends with someone and have that evolve into a romance, or do you need to tell the game romance from the start?

I’d hope you don’t have to be attracted to them at them beginning. Some people might think the succubus/inccubus is a complete tool at first, get to know them, develop an attraction, and wish to romance them.

Your feelings about a character can change over the course of the game, as well as your basic relationship score. The evening of Day 2 is when you decide who you’d like to get to know better over the next three days. There will also be an option then to say “I want more choices of who to ask out, I’m attracted to someone who doesn’t match the preferences I expressed on the morning of Day 1.” I’m not exactly sure how I’m handling scheduling, but I think that dates will be scheduled in advance for evenings 3-5, while “friend dates” can be done any evening that you have free time, without advance planning.

Day 5, Friday, is when you will decide who to take to the dance (if anyone.) Your final opportunity to change your relationship with someone will be near the end of the game. You’ll basically be asked your intentions with anyone you’re interested in. This will then affect your ending. If you don’t hit it off with any of the main NPCs, there are a couple of other love interests floating around that come into the game later; a few you can only settle down with in the epilogue.

You said before that other monsters had lives of their own and won’t try to get to know you if you choose to be by yourself all the time. But what about Taylor? Will she seek you out and maybe even initiate a romance?
I really don’t want my Wendigo to die alone (so far I’ve made her story incredibly depressing) but I just wouldn’t feel right if I went against her character by having her do anything to leave her comfort zone

Hmmm not a bad idea. Why should the MC do all the asking? I’ll see about working in some opportunities for characters to bring up, “We should do something, let me know when you’re available”, then when you call it’s to schedule because you’ve already been asked and accepted. (Or of course you could turn them down, there are already opportunities to hang out with Carl and/or Taylor on Day 2 that you can accept or decline.)

Bit off the topic/ (WARNING needless rambling ) more form experience of games in general - many games, not all, but plenty, if there is romance involved, then they make you feel like Ash Ketchum, by that i mean, go out of your way, trough grass, mud, trees and toxic lands - to catch one female/male. If you don’t do - this and this (like it or not you will do sport, art, literature or whatever) that NPC will like you only if your that and that is that big and that and that this.
Not to call out names, but when one game, when i know that NPC short while, mostly we had talked and our friendship was high, i asked her/him “out”, they say I’m not there type… because stats note says you don’t have big enough… and that wasn’t a stat that can be seen by naked eye like strength or charisma, making me thing that NPC is a cheating virus, that peeking in my stats screen.

By that I mean, I like the idea that one character cams to MC, otherwise they been running like hell after everyone but no one wanted them… though, why is it always the best friend/childhood friend?

Imagine, not that you showed interest in them, just did your thing like went to swim often, there was that Romancable NPC, but MC isn’t that interested and just wants to swim, you both had only little encounters, (they don’t live in a bubble) and then out of the blue they come up and say they had developed a crush on you.
For once MC isn’t the one crushing, having stalker needs to watch there liked one every move, but they are the one being watched…

(Rambling end - thank you for your time)

You are hardly the only one. Just look at the discussion of two weeks ago. It seems to pop up near the end of day one on all paths. It’s not a regular ChoiceScript error, so it’s probably got something to do with the files the link refers to.

From memory, it happens with quite a few paths, but definitely for the demon inccubus/succubus path and not with the vampire path.
Also from not skimming the words I realised succubus/inncubus has no effect on the Wendigo and the Misunderstood Goblin. Chantal must not be best friends with Wendy and [default name for Goblin]

So out of curiosity, what character(s) has everyone made?
I’ve got one for each species. A vampire who’s pretty much Spock, a werewolf who is incredibly boring, a succubus who only feels positive emotions and is nice to everyone, a goblin who is also nice to everyone and believes in knowledge for knowledge’s sake, and a wendigo who is the saddest person on the planet (and kinda highlights how much of a jerk Hunter is for trying to bully this walking sob-story).

For WIP’s I just play through without any real connection, so I can find errors as soon as possible. But I did make the most self entered, stupid, powerful demon named ‘Tim’ so yeah… Well done me

I’m still trying to figure out all my characters; I want to play all the paths that interest me but I don’t want to come up with so many that it gets out of control.

Ophelia Ruthven: basically me as a vampire. She’s smart but also aloof, stand-offish, and a bit of a rebel that defies both human and vampire standards. She doesn’t really have any love interests since I’m asexual.

Jack London: a werewolf who’s a nerdy jock (at my high school, the nerdy jocks were more popular than the normal I-don’t-care-about-school jocks). He’s super sweet and nice and tries to please everyone. Originally I was going to have him fall for Wendy, but after Victoria said she likes to paint “the demons I see in my head,” I decided she was the one for him.

Lana Wolf: another werewolf and the total opposite of Jack. She’s popular because of her wild personality. She has the hots for Caleb.

Robyn Hobbes: a goblin. She’s upbeat and a bit of a goofball. She crushes on Carl.

I think I’ll make a Wendigo too, but I’m still figuring out his/her personality. I’m not going to make an incubus/succubus because of the whole “asexual” thing. I just find a demon that feeds on sex boring as all get out.

Yeah, but I’ve just never been interested. (shrug) I like coming up with love stories for other characters, but I just don’t see it happening to myself, especially not in high school.

Pssst, this is getting off-topic pretty fast. @Hell_Satan, if I can help you out with any more questions about asexuality or other genders/sexualities, you’re welcome to PM me. Different people find different things interesting, which is one reason I have five monster types.
