Sorry, I have a habit of getting people side-tracked.
So, will we be able to choose what our character’s chosen career is and have that influence our classes? For example; my vampire would probably want to go into law, so it would make sense for him to take persuasive speech or criminal justice. And my Wendigo would probably want to own her own graveyard, which means…actually, not sure what classes qualify you for that. Anyway, I think you get the idea.
If we can choose jobs, I totally want my incubus to be a stripper at a gay bar. They totally make bank xD
You don’t need friends when you have… servants
Undertaker Wendigo sounds great, free meals!
Oops, I meant the asexuality thing. Hearing what characters everyone has made is useful for me, it gives me ideas for future options that will support those character concepts.
You can have goals for the future; if the wendigo stays at their table for lunch they will start thinking about ways to get more food, which include going into medicine or mortuary work. You don’t have options in this game about what classes to take, though. Some endings will lead to careers in the human or monster worlds (these will largely depend on your personality and choices, not your grades.)
At the moment, the demon can date up to three of the love interests at school, plus can have a live-in lover and opportunities to meet more people in the evening. So you will have to pick your favorite three (of the main non-human ROs.) Expanding their harems is one of a demon’s main goals; as well as feeding from them, their lovers protect and serve them. They will also be able to take multiple people to the homecoming dance as their date, if they wish, and will have an opportunity to gain more lovers at the party they throw on the weekend.
People have suggested letting the demon choose their after-school job, like the goblin can. I’m thinking about it.
Multiple servants are a possible goal of the vampire, and yes, their primary purpose is to provide blood. As for feeding from the non-human ROs, wait and see, monster blood is not the same as whatever the vampire has in their fridge.
A little of both. They act fairly normally and take initiative in making decisions, between the vampire asking them to do something. But they are devoted to the vampire, and want to serve and protect and listen to them. With enough willpower I think you could override the mind control, but most people never try. Drinking someone’s blood creates the bond - you do not need to feed directly from their body for it to work - but it takes more than once. So the vials of blood in your fridge won’t create a new servant.
I’m considering a fairly major change. (Don’t worry, I’m not planning to implement it right away so it won’t take more time to get out the last scenes of the demo.)
Attractive vs. Repulsive is going to be re-named/edited into something like “Confidence”/“Self-Esteem”/“Bravado”, and Attractiveness will probably be shuffled somewhere into skills. Maybe it and other general characteristics like Serenity will get put in their own category that fits better than “Skills”.
Thoughts or opinions on these changes are welcome.
Making it a matter of confidence/self-esteem suggests some changes other than just relabeling it - would this change the (starting) stats for the different monsters?
Probably. The demon would still have their early boost to how people relate to them, however I re-code it, and the wendigo would start lower. Not sure where the goblin would fall into the new rankings. I’m still thinking it over, and stat balancing for the various paths and species is definitely an ongoing project.
By starting boost/ not boost(?) Do you mean the monster you choose, or the after hair and clothing style/ selection. And vampires lower than goblin, considering what Victoria says in English class and how… y’know, they drink blood.
Will we ever get to delve deeper into the twin’s history? Like what happened to their parents & if they are in fact hunters
I suspect that demons will start out as having more of the “attractive” skill/attribute/whatever I call that category, which is also what sexy clothing will raise. Or I might change my mind completely and make self esteem/confidence a hidden stat, and keep Attractive.
As it stands, sometimes when “Attractive” is raised it has to do with appearance, sometimes it has to do with clothing or other choices, and sometimes it does seem to have more to do with how you see yourself. Confidence can make people more attractive, but it’s getting to the point where being secure in yourself automatically makes the game think you’re gorgeous, which are not really the same thing.
Yes to all. I think you’ll be able to learn more details if you manage to befriend/date one of them, but any MC will be able to learn more about them than is stated on Day 1.
Personally, I’d like to see more of the twins and there background, however I’ve been informed that sleeping with as many people as you can is more important than character development😄
Mythology and folklore. With vampires some Bram Stoker is bound to creep in, but for the most part they’re all based on legends that are centuries old.
Poor vampires, they don’t have Hellsing characteristics to keep up with the powerhouses…well unless they get something good from monster blood…
Oh, sorry for the snarkiness than. I just assumed that you wanted to sleep with everyone.
And on topic, if a Vampire drinks another monster blood, does the mind control/bond thing happen. And do the Vampires get stronger, like some sort of leech?
Hopped on the bandwagon a little late, but looking forward to see how this one shapes up. The breadth of option paths there seem to be make me happy - more of what I wanted from games like Psy High.
Say Brian(“Brian”), how did you enjoy Psy High? I was thinking about whether or not to get it this week.
You know what I’m curious about, but don’t expect to learn until late game? What a Wendigo can do with the energry from a single corpse.
I was thinking of ways we could do that, and remembered the Wendigo’s hiding spot. Maybe if you go there(or the empty theatre) one day, you find somebody(Taylor or a random person) there as well. Just you and them, and It would be child’s play to devour them. This would, of course, come with a chance of getting caught, but grant the MC the power attained by eating.
Just an idea I had for how to feed the Wendigo. Feel free to ignore this if you decide it doesn’t match up with the game you’ve got in mind
To be 100% honest, it wasn’t as exiting or promising as I thought it was when I bought it. But you should still try it!
To add onto that, can we store energy, because I like the idea of an average malnourished monster student becoming a dictator, or even leading a monster rebellion. But where to find the bodies…
I believe the first time you will get access to an unattended corpse, as a wendigo, is early in Day 2. And yes, you can store up energy. On a full stomach a wendigo is healthier, stronger, can save up spare energy towards gaining more of their powers… but will still feel like they’re starving. Such is the life of a wendigo.
No. You are what you are. You may or may not learn to accept it. You can be a self-hating monster up till the end, if you get to the end. There will be times you can die in this game. Unless you’re a demon, in which case there are fates equivalent-to-or-possibly-worse-than-death instead.
