It doesn’t show once you pick the first “note”. Just has the colors but not which note it represents.

I’m in the midst of testing my fix right now, which also includes the notes in together with the color.

Can someone tell me what all the RO are please

The official ROs in the game are Morgan, Larry and Samar. Balogh, Ami and Jax, Luiz, Karin are the unofficial ones that can only be accessed if you play through the game without romancing one of the official RO’s. Spoilered because very few people seem to realize this and I like to keep this bit a surprise.

Thx you I love the game

Weird, i actually didn’t romance anyone
and still was unable to get Amy , and Karin was a lesbian.

So I bought Magikiras when it was released and…well no offense intended, many authors look at their work like their children so I’ll try to keep this as painless as possible.I did not enjoy it very much.

Things felt very repetitive whenever I talked to anyone. Same questions for most people you met and each question didn’t really affect anything just get a bit of exposition and nothing else. Pretty much all of the dialogue options that I found were like that. I did not find myself emotionally attached to the characters either.

Also the fact that bullets didn’t harm shadows but melee does irked me but that’s just a minor issue.

I thought when Morgan is taken through the portal and we’re sent on leave that we’d be devastated or shaken or show some sign of distress if we’re romancing her. Instead it just seemed like we moved on instantly. She is the first person we’ve ever seen get killed (from what the MC knows anyway) on our side. Yet it just seemed very cut and dry.

But my biggest gripe about the game is the grammar and sentence arrangement. Everything felt very distorted and jumbled and unfortunately made me stop playing entirely. That’s my personal opinion on the game anyway. I will not be rating it or giving a review though. I don’t want to stop other people from enjoying it themselves with a negative review. I hope that it sells well though. Obviously from this thread that I am in the minority for not enjoying it so who knows? Maybe I’m just too hard to please. Anyway have a good day and I wish you the best of luck on any future projects.

So, I’ve actually got a question @Grapefruit since… I can’t seem to find an answer in the codex itself. Is there a specific skill I should raise if I want to focus on wielding magic? Every time I try using magic, I check and see that my health drops each time. Unless it’s meant to be like that - where using magic causes physical harm if used in excess? /scratches chin/ I’ve kept restarting 'cause I keep trying to figure it out, haha.

It’s supposed to be that way. When you chose to have magic you have something like an universal solution for many stat checks, but it has it’s price in form of damage to you health, so you can’t use it infinite. A character that can’t use magic has it easier to rise their stats. That makes it more balanced.

So no, there is no specific stat associated with magic. At least not in the stats screen.

You know, that makes a lot more sense… I kept picking the magic options whenever I saw them and I started to realize I’d end up keeling over if I kept it up. Gotcha. So I should only use it when I run into a situation where none of the options seem to line up with my MC’s dominant skills?

Depends on how you want to play  but it is in any case a way to avoid skill checks you fear you will fail.

@Razgriz I agree with you on all of those points and trust me i am one of
the vocal ones here. But i decided to not rate it because the author did
make a
long story and actually put effort in the game.

Was the writing bad… yes
were most of the choices worthless… yes
Was the grammar bad… yes
Were most of the characters uninteresting and bland… yes

That said, the author did make an effort, and most of the combat
situations needed the right choice based on your stats. The game was
good enough for me to try to get the
puzzles right and make a few playthroughs.

I disagree with you.
The choices werent worthless, in every mission you can win or fail, there are missions with more than one path (like going to museum or protective the president), if you captured Morgan earlier she will not help you, there are diferences if you face Terrorist or if you face Shadow Fiends.
You found the characters blanks, but as you can see in this thread, you are in the minority.

You should not confuse “I didnt like the game” with “the game is bad”. I cant play Tin Star, but doesnt mean its not a good game, its just not for me.

Alright, so I just ran into what’s probably a bug with a choice not being tracked. I managed to decipher the first anonymous text message (yay!) and went to the meeting, got the data, turned it in. Now… I got a second text, yeah? And the game is acting as though it’s gibberish and my MC is all “wut is dis” and Larry apparently had to explain to us plebs how to read it… even though my MC already knows about the mysterious informant and his encryption(s).

Edit: Okay, so, my MC is behaving as if he didn’t talk to the mysterious informant at all, being completely surprised. I did check your blog and one of the comments was about the entry “Corasme Shopping Mall” not being a valid choice and that’s what I put in. It worked, but if you patched it, the bug might be related to that?

That’s another reason why I didn’t post a negative review and instead posted what I thought here. After all I’d rather show an author what I thought of the product instead of simply saying my thoughts out on the review for it and possibly hurt sales.

I did like the combat in the game though and the sheer length of the game does count. I know I could never make something that size.

But again it’s just my opinion and nothing that I’m saying is intended to be taken as hostile or as destructive criticism. Were there flaws? Certainly, every game has flaws which is why we’re mentioning them so that someone can improve upon their work.

But anyway that’s my two cents on the subject. Congrats on releasing your game @Grapefruit, I look forward to see what you’re making next.

Hello there Gabriel! I tried looking for you on twitter but couldn’t find you, so I thought I’d probably find you here. Your game is awesome!! Pplayed it a couple of times, loved it!
Theres one funny thing that has been nagging and annoying me though, since I can get extremely curious sometimes.
Right before Morgan jumps on the helicopter from the train, she mentions that theres a thing she wants to tell you after she deals with the helicopter. We never get to know what she wanted to say, even after i saved her in that final mission!! Yes, I said I can get curios sometimes haha!
Cheers! Good luck with your next project.

Just Mall works as an answer.

@jcury @Razgriz I will the first to admit that my game has plenty of flaws, given that it’s been more than ten years since I’ve picked up the writer’s quill until this piece of work and I despise reading my own work, making it extremely difficult for me to read through it at all. I do agree, quite a number of the choices are meaningless and I’ve lost track of what choice does what over the course of the game thanks to the sheer size as well. (note to self, never write a million word story ever again )

I think for me, the whole point of this project is to tell myself that I can do this, work on something that I enjoy doing rather than certain other stuffs out there. To say that I’m not afraid of reaching out for something instead of settling for what everyone else tells me to go for. One step at a time, two thousand words everyday until the very end. Nothing big but I am glad that this work is done and behind me in a sense.

So thanks for your words and I know what to take into account next time…which is apparently a day or two before Magikiras came out  To be honest, I prefer these kinds of comments versus good comments simply because I want to know what needs to be fixed in my work.

@Lithophene Think of the magic option as an easy mode setting, which is there for people to sort of breeze through the game. I did fix the bug as well as another bug that happens later in the game. The wut is dis reaction is a more general reaction and I definitely didn’t think to add a ‘complete the puzzle’ reaction.

@Zaina No twitter for me because my emails were hacked into and someone used them to make a twitter account for themselves. Sorry about that. As for what Morgan said, well that’s something that people to imagine about at the end of the story.

A few things I’d suggest is maybe getting an editor for your next project if you do one. Maybe get together once every few weeks or whenever you get a chapter done and have them go through everything. Trust me I feel the exact same on everything that I write especially when compared to some of the people on here.

I’d also recommend having more in depth and differentiating conversations in between characters. It’s what gives them their flair. Oh and maybe make a game that isn’t the literal longest interactive fiction on this site. (How you’re not dead from exhaustion I do not know)

You’re outlook on this is a very good one to have. After all getting it published and released is a massive accomplishment and you should be proud that other people enjoy your work.
