I thought Cassius might eventually be romancable, but no idea he or Marcus actually were. Still waiting to ‘conceive an unnatural affection for the great beauty’ of Lt Lewes, which was really how the Sharpe books phrased it.
I nearly always roleplay characters from other stories, including Cornet Jack Falstaff (When he was page to the Duke of Norfolk, he was slender…), so a little hard pressed to think of a suitable partner for our bishie German elf. Eduard von Braunschweig from Meine Liebe immediately leaps to mind, the charming bisexual son of a Marquis and a gypsy…but his background would need to be changed a bit for the setting.
Cassius certainly would have even more difficulties in the way of romance than Katrina. For Lewes as well, the class barrier seems even more of an obstacle to serious romance than socially mandated heterosexuality. As in other things, the games are quite realistic.
I had what seemed to be a bug. I earned the achievement “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” about undermining Wulfram without him knowing, but I hadn’t undermined him at all, and served him until my eventual failure.

Ok this might be an unpopular opinion, buuuuut I kinda hope for the fourth one we’ll be someone new. With all the talk of the reforms, and the queen, and what not having there be a gender choice would not be too far-fetched. And I personally would also like to be able to play a gay character. But also, I just think it would be fun to play some form of banecaster maybe like a combat medic or some thing. Hopefully from my better off family because it was so hard to be able to pay to increase the Barony and still have any sort of money. lol. Love the series
4th one will continue the same MC. One of the big things yet to see paid is starting age. Right now, starting at 30 offers a lot of bonuses and no drawback. However, in the final games, those age penalties will start to factor in.
You can play as a gay character right now. Lords doesn’t have a sexuality choice, rather you simply choose which romances you are into, not restricted by any prior choice. On the Estate route you can pursue romance with Lord Marcus if you invite him to the ball you can host in Chapter 4. Additionally in Chapter 4 of the Aetoria route if you hang out with Warburton you can have some gay one-night stands with men in the capital. Also also, in the 4th game there will be another gay romance added with Lewes.
Not a ton. Just the romance text itself and, in the case of Marcus, a letter later in the game.
Any interesting flavour text for pursuing a gay relationship? I remember some very pleasant flavour in Sabres and Guns based on our stats and, at times, land of origin.
Are there any walk-throughs on how to like successfully not be in debt for your Barony/increase income? I’ve had player throws where I’ve made enough money to instantly pay off the debt. But after adding the upgrades and not enough income and ended up having to take out a shit ton of money for them all.
Superb. I’ve been waiting for this for a while, and right now I don’t regret playing it because it lived up to my hopes. I can only wait for the continuation in the Wars of infinity to arrive at this point. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long .
