If you’re really thinking about including the dice roll you can checkout Breach:The Archangel Job, which implements a dice roll mechanic.
I’m curious about what abilities the classes might have and how it’s gonna be done. Between the 3 you’ve chosen so far the one I’d pick first would be Incubus for just about everything they’re about.

Definitely love the idea <3 good luck! Maybe you could PM @MichaelMaxwell on advice for the die setup? They actually even have it setup in the demo where the rolls were optional to implement and he is an avid tabletop rpg player and has experience as a GM. this was stated on the patreon account sorry i creeped

*rand : Set a variable to a random number. You set the minimum and maximum, we do the rest. For example, this would set the variable die_roll to a value from 1 to 6 inclusive:
*rand die_roll 1 6

I think you can use variables instead of actual numbers as well, so that you could prevent people from rolling low numbers if their skill is high. Not entirely sure on that though. It’s been a while since I’ve used choice script.

I would really be eager to see what you come up with. Good luck on setting up the demo! I am also currently in the process of making a D&D-esque adventure game, but I’m trying my best not to go anywhere near the lores of the usual Forgotten Realms stuff.
I’ve been playing D&D for so long, I’ve grown bored of the same old monsters and quests and modules, so I won’t be using many of the monsters or races from any edition of the game. That being said, I’d say that you should go ahead with whatever story you’d like to tell with whatever lore you’d like to use or make up.
As for the dice system, I recommend that you do a very simple one to begin with and let it grow upon that foundation. My game has a very complex system of checks and automated systems that take up an entire 15% of my game’s word count. the *rand command is very powerful and can be used to create so many features… but know that more, doesn’t always mean better in this case.
If you’d like, I can give you a basic template for skill checks and how to create modifiers from base stats.

And if there’s any advice I could give in general, it’s to listen to the feedback, but tell the story however you’d like it, and know that anything can happen, anything can be. So if you’re ever stuck, don’t be afraid to ask for help. I know this community will have at least one or more people willing to help

So here is a little blink of the game I am up to at the moment.
Welcome to the Mega-Dome!
The Domes- the lights in a dark post-apocalyptic world. A place where living is not just a slow death sentence. The domes are paradises. Everyone living in them is healthy, has a decent life. That is what people have told you all your life.
Since the blood storm no one from the outside had been allowed to enter a dome- until now.
Life has not been your friend and Lady luck even less.
Growing up you hardly experienced anything else than hardships. But this might change, you have gotten the chance of your lifetime. You were chosen, among a few other people to apply for the Dome Academy. Thousands of people entered the contest for receiving one of the few scholarships. This is the only chance to get admitted to a dome, as an outsider.
But are you up to the task, can you make it? It certainly would help if you knew, what they expect from you. You left your family behind, to grasp the little chance for a better life. Do you have, what it takes? Can you reach the top, live a better life, survive? Or are you doomed to have your dreams crushed, all hopes lost?
Only time will tell.
All you can do is take a firm grip at your ticket and do everything to make it. What will you do to get what you want? So how do you plan to survive?
You may join one of the five factions. Find new friends and even love.
The dome does not care about your gender or who you love. So use everything in your power to achieve your goal, survive! If you are good, you might even get famous, rich, loved or free in the end.
Good luck, you will need it.
There will be four factions you may join, and four RO in the first chapters. Oh and as I said before all but one character will be over 30

@E_RedMark: The MC is not sick, yet, but living outside the domes is limited since a so called blood rain started to rain down on people.
There are no kids but I think a lot of chances for smooching^^

Well it’s post apocalyptic but we’re going somewhere away from that, so I’m asking if it’ll be us going “Wow, this place looks so amazing, can’t wait to make friends and live a better life” or “While so many of us are out there suffering these “people” live comfortably and wasting resources, regardless I’ll have to play my part if I don’t wanna get thrown back out”.
I’m still interested though.

It is a part from the latter, once inside the player is soon to realize, tha the dome is no paradise, that they are there to get used. The game will be a darker one, the MC will have to deal with a lot of people who want to use them, to gain their goal, which you can set yourself, as the goal is part of the stat system

This is not a religious topic .
Let’s get that out of the way . This is about a story I wrote, I have been working on 2 others stories . Then I got the whole '‘Blank Wall’ .
I remember a couple of peoples saying, ‘write something else, until you can go back to your old story! as long as you keep writing…is all good’’ .
Yeah well, I’m the kind who is kinda afraid that if I did that if I write something new…I kinda would lose any love I have for my story on Hiatus . And just abandon them for good .
Anyway, I decided to follow that advice . let’s hope I’m not right
So that out of the way, this is about a story I wrote a couple of years ago . The idea was that the main character has the ability to reincarnate over and over . And they are also being chased down by those who ‘kinda’ forced them to become this…a being that reincarnate .
Another thing that would help you understand, this said character if they were to die again…their soul is stored in a sword . Hence those who have been chasing them, been trying to get the sword and destroy it…putting an end to said character .
Now the new person they reincarnate as doesnt know any of this . Thats why the ‘Original’ being left peoples to help train the new reincarnation and setting them on the path of ‘run for your life, they are coming to get you’ .
The thing is, I never brushed the whole ‘Reincarnation’ deep enough . Like I didn’t go into details how it really work…I left it very vague .
Right now I’m trying to make a sequel of a sort, and thinking about it…it just making me confused
So let’s say for a second, the new reincarnation do ‘remember’ some stuff from the past original life . Yet, she can also ‘Talk’ to the Original person . I would call that some sort of dissasociation of a kind . right ? since the soul doesnt seem to be fully merged with the body . Creating almost two personality .
Now let’s say the two being disagree how things go along the way .
Would it still count as reincarnation ? Or a possession of some kind ?
See that’s what bothering me . I don’t want the story to turn into a demon-kinda-thing-dark-ritual .
In Avatar the Air Bender, the avatar can connect and talk to the past Avatar .
But this is supposed to be the same person, just a different body .
Though ?

actually, the ‘original’ showed up when the ‘New reincarnation’ was badly injured . It was a weird scene lol like a psychosic kinda of thing . As in, instead of the ‘Original’ sending the ‘new’ back and saving them . I wrote it the opposite way . The ‘New’ met the ‘Original’ and helped her…get out of wherever they were…then she woke up . But it was also mean to connect the two…even if briefly .
Hum…sorry @Dartknight lol I didn’t reply with my blahblah…
well that could happen . Homewhever, what if the ‘New’ believe they are their own person ?

If your memories make up at least a good portion of who you are, and the memories are kept separate between the consciousnesses, would they not be their own person?

That’s why I said…dissasociation . They don’t feel like it’s their memory . More like an echo, like you’ve seen something . You remember it, but you don’t have the feeling that goes with it .
Say like remembering being stabbed in the shoulder . You remember who did it, you remember how much you bled . But there is nothing else, you cant bring forth the memory of that moment…the pain , the surprise at being stabbed…the anger…the betrayal you felt…
which create doubt . They say they are my memory but…are they ?

Dissociation - not disassociation - doesn’t entirely work like this.
For one, you often forget any memories you obtain while dissociated, or at least don’t retain them while conscious. What you’re describing is more like a present - and not a memory - version of depersonalisation.
