As I recall, there was one that was called “Beta”, I think it was temporarily discontinued or interrupted; there was another one too, but it was centered on revenge, if I’m not mistaken “Omega’s rematch” or something. Anyway, good luck with the project.

I found!

Ok, so, I have some ideas, I just need to know if anyone is interested.

  1. An Avatar the last airbender and Genshin Impact inspired story. You wake up in a strange pit, as something just crushed here. After some time you learn that you are in the interesting world where people control various elements: air, fire, earth, water, electricity, and for some unknown reason you can control them all. Learn as much about this magic, world and yourself as you can while using this new power to help people or make them miserable.

  2. Story about guilt, forgiveness and death. The last thing you remember is bright light and soon after you find yourself in your home… But something is different, world seems practically dead, people on the streets are in some kind of trance. Completely confused you meet a small group of people that seem to know what is going on, find the answers and regain your memories.

  3. Ok, so this one is basically Monster High but not as adorable (and with some twists). You live in a strange dimension which looks like ours but there you can find a lot of types of supernatural beings that were sealed here by humans many years ago. Now almost all supernaturals don’t care about it anymore, thay live their peaceful lives here, you too. It’s your last year of high school, almost done with this shithole. Can you graduate without problems or you’ll join a group of monsters that said “enough” to this life and want to break the seal?

Also, hi, hello, it’s my first post here XD

  • avatar cheap ripoff
  • “what happened” story
  • kinda Monster High

Alright - so I am gonna try this a bit differently than many others. There are a few reasons for it. First - I am not overly confident in my writing and my style. I write it, because I like it and when I re-read it, I am usually pretty happy with it - but that doesn’t mean that others feel the same. I feel this every time I make a joke and then there’s crickets and tumbleweeds.

I know that this is super subjective - of course I do - but feedback is always welcome - as constructive criticism and positive. How else am I supposed to improve. Pure negativity is pointless in my opinion.

The second thing is - there will be no synopsis. Why? Because it’s not 100% complete in my head and because I think if I decide to write a synopsis here, it could some of my twists away.

I have various ideas and thoughts - some more scrambled than others. But one thing that I know for myself is - that I usually know a few pages into a story (any story really) - whether or not I feel intrigued to continue to read, or if it is not for me.

As such - I will add post a small part of the beginning of the story that I have in mind. This is very early - and can’t even be called an Alpha or WIP but it may be my guidepost for anything I do in the future. I added Choices (so far only for character creation) as cursive and indicated what I chose. I used my preferred go-to name for any first character I create in any game.

Anyway, I hope it all makes sense and I apologize for my ramblings and all typos still present in the text. I’d appreciate any suggestions and feedback.

Thanks for your time and for your patience.

Summary

Above & Below - Resurgence

Murmurs, shadows and eyes! So many eyes, none of them friendly. So many voices, yet you can’t tell them apart. But you can sense their emotions. There’s disgust, anger, fear and distrust. Only a few stand out. If you had to describe their expression, you would call it pity one or two maybe as sadness. The shadowy mass in which they reside is a writhing mess, but if it is just one entity or many, you can’t tell.

All if it looks familiar and yet you don’t recognize any of it. You can’t even tell if the eyes are looking at or past you, if the voices speak to or about you or if they are even coherent words.

And yet, behind the threatening entity or entities, there’s something else. You can’t see it or hear it, but you can feel it. It’s a longing and it promises safety… but you don’t see anyway to reach it.

And before you can think on it further, the murmurs start to swell and grow louder and the eye filled mass creeps closer. And as it does, the ground under your feet begins to shake.

It’s like a towering, distant wave, that rolls towards the beach on which you stand. Seemingly slow and distant at first but picking up speed the closer it comes. Unstoppable and inescapable. You know you should turn around and run. Something is about to happen, you can feel it but your body betrays you. You’re rooted in place, helpless and unable to escape.

All you can do is stand there and watch, as it crashes towards you.

You want to scream, but even your voice fails you. And so you brace yourself for the impact, to be swallowed up by it and close your eyes. The ground shudders under your feet and the murmurs gets louder.

When it becomes unbearable, you drop to your knees and cover your ears - but it is a small relief. And when you can do nothing but accept your fate, everything goes quiet and then you hear it. Someone calls, what you recognize as a name. A familiar name.

Input Name (Azar as variable)

“ Azar”

You open your eyes and find yourself in an emptiness. There is only silence, no eyes stare at you and there is no ground under your feet as you float through nothingness. It is a calming and welcoming void and your heartbeat finally slows.

Until you feel someone grip you by the shoulder.

“Sab! Sab, wake up! Sabrael, c’mon, wake up!”

Groggily, your open your eyes, just to close them again. It is way too bright and your pounding head agrees. The nausea you feel also informs you, that someone shaking you vigorously is not agreeable.

“Sab, please… just wake up. Dammit… they said not to worry!” It takes you a moment to recognize the worried voice, which belongs to the person shaking you.

Ambriel - your partner. Your former mentor, your friend and battle mate.

Choose sexuality of MC – male variable

His imposing stature and the glaive, fitted to his size, had caused many foes to tremble on the battlefield and some to flee or surrender. He was a fearsome warrior – merciless when he needed to be and merciful when opponents allowed him to be.

Stories about him were aplenty but none would truly show, that he was not just a warrior, but a kindhearted to those close to him and true to those he called friends.

You groan as a response and try to swat his arm away. You fail miserably and instead end up slapping yourself in the face. Great! Your headache thanks you.

Choose gender and height – male / average height variable

Even if you had hit your target, chances are that it would have done nothing. You’re of an average height, not standing taller than most of the other men and Ambriel had a physical advantage. You may as well pound your fist against a marble pillar.

And right now, this large man was shaking you with with his large hands and you realized that even riding a boat on a stormy ocean would likely be less rough.

“Thank God, you’re awake! I was starting to be worried!” He says with relief in his voice and finally stops. You groan again. This time, because you hate the expression. It’s nonsense. It’s a story that has been woven along the millennia and nobody in charge felt the need to correct it. There were no Gods. Never were.

But being confronted with beings so different from themselves, humans began to spin stories and the rest is history.

“Lights.” You finally manage to say.

“Oh, right. Sorry. Let me fix that.” You feel Ambriel’s weight lift from the side of your bed, followed by steps across the room. Most of your kin strive in bright light. It gives them comfort, helps them heal, but not you. You always felt it was intrusive and overwhelming and it never gave you comfort. You never understood why.

The familiar sound of the blind being turned tells you, that it may be safe to open your eyes again. Ambriel had been around you for long enough for him to learn your quirks and he kindly respects them. He is more accommodating than many others.

“There, that should be better.” He says from across the room and you take it as a chance to open your eyes again. The room is now draped in dim light, with long shadows dancing in the light of the blue flame, mostly covered by the blind. Seeing the shadows, sends a shiver down your spine but why, you are not sure.

“Aren’t you supposed to be at training?” You ask through half open lids, while trying to prop up into a sitting position. Your head is not amused and to your surprise and neither is your stomach.

“I was. Training for the morning group is over. So I figured I would come and check in on you.” He has a gentle smile on his face. The ones that shows that he cares but it doesn’t last long and he furrows his eyebrows in concern.

“What happened? When I came in, you were as stiff as a board. I tried to wake you, but it was like you were frozen. Cold to the touch, too.”

You rub a hand over your face, trying to remember and you realize, that you’re covered in cold sweat. You know you had dreamed… but of what? The memories are like those shadows, you see at out of the corner of your eye. You’re unable to describe them or to see them clearly, but you know there were there. But there’s one thing you are sure off.

“Some sort of nightmare.” It is quite ridiculous really. You’re a warrior, you are battle hardened and yet, you get overwhelmed by nightmares, like a youngling. You wouldn’t tell anyone else but you have learned to trust Ambriel.

You shake the thoughts off move the rest of the way to sit up – quickly regretting it. A wave of nausea threatens to overcome you.

“Slow now!” Ambriel says as he returns to your bedside and casts his worried view over you.
“Ah crap, you’re bleeding.”

You instinctively reach for your nose, where you had slapped yourself earlier but your fingers come back clean.

“Here, let me have a look” he says gently and reaches for your head. Your normal instinct would be to recoil – if it was anyone other than him. After being your mentor for many years, he’s become your friend. Your best friend and also your only true friend. And so you allow him to investigate.

You can feel his fingers at the side of your head.

Customize hair color and length – Long black hair as variable.

He wipes away strands of your long white hair and when he does, you can feel it too. The tickling of warm blood trickling out of your ear, down your skin.

“Luckily, it doesn’t look too bad and the healers mentioned that this could happen again. It was a pretty hard blow you took to the head after all.”

That it was indeed and to your dismay, that blow had resulted in you being temporarily relieved of duty. Not only that, but you had been ordered to stay in bed and rest. This wouldn’t be too bad, if it wasn’t for the nightmares - and your inability to remember them.

I’m super interested in this, love the characters, and love the setting. I’d be happy to do some reading/editing as you work on the project, and I really look forward to seeing more of this.

When you talk about multiple narrators, do you mean that the ROs will function as narrators some of the time, or will other characters be narrating? How does this affect the player’s role as their own character and the character customization functions? What is the player’s goal in the story - romance? Or discovering the truth?

Oh good, finally some variety in the ages of main characters –

Oh, okay.

I have an idea for a game. It has a lot of potential, I don’t want to release any details publicly yet because I don’t want any stolen ideas. You never know, but you can message me privately for details. It’s gonna have a GoT vibe to it but not so to where it’s too similar. Help of any and all kind would be accepted.

I’ve been working a little on this game for a while, and just discovered this forum. I don’t have a demo yet, so I’m going to post here for now! For the most part, I’m just making it up as I go, but this will likely change in the future.

My story is called The Academy of Aspiring Heroes (working title, but I definitely like it right now) and is heavily inspired by D&D, because I’m a nerd.

I realized halfway through writing this that there was a TON of info, so I’ve divided it up into sections.

World/Setting Info

It takes place in a fantasy world that… well. It’s hard to describe. It’s a mish-mash of modern and medieval times. I kinda just use whatever is convenient to me from either world. For example, you might see someone wearing jeans and a hoodie, but the gun hasn’t been invented, so swords and bows are the most common weapons. For the most part, it’s the modern world in terms of culture, and medieval in terms of important technology (e.g. guns or the internet). Humans are the most common species by far, but other, rarer species like dwarves, elves, and halflings do exist.

The main setting is, you guessed it, the Academy for Aspiring Heroes. A boarding school that isn’t quite elite, but only lets in maybe 400-500 students a year (this is a rough estimate which I wrote on the spot). The application forms are released each summer. Anyone can apply, free of charge, and the forms are generally available at the local post office, readily available. You can choose to study Combat, Magic, or Magical Combat (think Bard, Ranger, or Paladin from D&D), and can specialize from there. Students learn “normal” subjects such as math and literature along with practicing their chosen Area of Study.

You can apply to the AAH once you have finished high school. There are 4-6 years of school (unsure yet), and then you will graduate. Thus, assuming you aren’t held back, you will be there from the ages of 18-22 or 18-24.

Plot

So far I’ve only got a very, very, very loose plot in mind. You’re a new student at the AAH, you take classes, make friends, then something happens and you do a fancy adventure. Very Harry Potter-esque outline.

Romance/Relationships

There will be a wide variety of characters in the story. For now, they will all be gender-locked (excluding your roommate, who is the same gender as the PC), but I’m considering adding an option to choose each character’s gender as you meet them.

You should be able to romance the majority of characters in the story (who are around your age, of course). There is no determining of sexuality, and romance is simply an extra. I plan to allow for polyamory as well. You can go through the story as a gay, ace, straight, anything character. The romancable characters will hopefully be a diverse cast of genders and species.

So far, I only have 2 NPC characters:

Brisan Verdeschi, 18, human, same gender as the PC: The PC’s roommate. Studying Magical Combat. A hotheaded, brash, sociable person.

Ror’vann Nakamora, 21, female dwarf: A junior at the AAH, studying Combat. The assigned “welcomer” for the year, who checks people in and hands out room keys. Very outgoing, loud, and bold. As an example of just how bold she is, when you happen to come in right after Brisan and she realizes you are roommates, she immediately turns to Brisan and yells across the room.

I probably missed a lot of info that slipped my mind, but that’s it for now! Let me know if you’d be interested in this story!

Any form of time travel is tricky depending on the mechanics you’ve decided to use but this sounds exciting. I’d like to know how this story progresses.

I agree, time travel can be a steaming hot mess. Not to mention the fact that (at least scientifically) no one has any idea how time travel would actually affect our timeline/other timelines/ timelines we don’t even know exist. :joy:

I’d just say it’s fantasy high school! The details of which parts are taken from high school tropes and which parts are taken from fantasy tropes can be revealed as the reader moves through the story.

this sounds really interesting!

My only concern would be the RO ages, you may need to explain different races developmental timelines, or be careful with ages depending on how old you’re imagining the MC to be.

In D&D, most races generally finish growing at around the same age as humans, and it’s the lifespan and/or age they are considered adults by society that’s different. Half-orcs reach adulthood at 14 (physically and socially) and live to about 75; elves reach physical adulthood at the same age as humans but are considered adults by society at about 100, and generally live for 500-750 years, for example. My story is based off D&D and it’s a pretty good system to begin with, so I’ll probably keep it with a few tweaks.

I have a potential plan for a WarriorCats Fan IF, but I am unable to put the work in that I want to do due to my limitations on electronics and technology. So this will be mainly more of a concept thing.
My idea is that maybe I’ll be able to make a place in the WarriorCat universe based in Northern Norway with more barbaric cats. It might become something else since the rules, traditions, terms, and culture will be different but just to be safe and since there still are clans and has similar base to the series, this will be considered as a fan-made game.
I have more information on my tumblr but the gist is that you are born into one of the three clans and around the time you become a “warrior” some cats will start to rebel against their leaders and clans. You can choose to become a part of that, protect the clan, or become your own leader/rouge/loner and betray everyone. The choice is up to you.
I suggest that this game will not be for children and more of the teens and adults who can handle violence, gore, and cruelty. But again, this is just a concept so this idea may never be brought to life.
Still, if you’re interested and want to know more about it, I do have a tumblr on the topic. Thank you for taking your time reading this and I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Also I’m not sure where to put this topic exactly so it’ll stay here for now.

I was wondering if people would be interested in a futuristic mid evil style of game. I already have the main story written out on paper but need help making it to where people can actually make choices that will impact the story.

How would a “futuristic medieval style game” work? Like, Star Wars? Old style sword fighters but then there’s dudes with laser guns?
